Help me!!!!!
My defy is not detected by RDS Lite 5.3.1.
Today i' ve flashed WIUI 2.8.3 with CM9 Kernel, but i didn' t like the rom, so i entered recovery and try to restore my previous backup of CM7 with froyo Kernel without flash CM7 kernel (what a stupid...). The phone goes in a black screen, and now it can' t boot up, and when i connect it to PC, i see only the white flash
What i need to do, please help
Did you flash with low battery or let it run down in recovery? Nevertheless your battery is prop out of juice.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1804940
Charge the battery, and update de drivers (download from motorola).... No problem flashing SBF with CM9 kernel, but after flash, you need to Wipe cache/partition in Motorola recovery
Sorry, my english is terible

Labsin already provided you a solution in his link to his extensive post. It's time to go Mc Gyver:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=892026
Before doing that however, you can try to "kickstart" your Defy by repatingly inserting the Charger (connected to the wall outlet, not to an USB port) and at the same time try to get into bootloader menu. Once there, leave your Defy in BL to charge your battery. I had this once on a similar issue and it worked.

T-Mobile UK repaired it free (even though CM7 was still installed on it).
The Warranty covers hardware, whereas custom roms are software, so usually you can get away with it if they can't boot.
Just an update for anyone who comes across this thread..
I took it into my local T-Mobile shop where I bought it, and they sent it off for repair.
As far as the repair centre knew, it was still under warranty. They couldn't tell it had been rooted.
So I'm happy Phone is already at the shop.. I would've thought they would have called, but oh well Maybe they will tomorrow before I pick it up.
I can finally stop using my Slow-as-hell Huawei U8110 AKA T-Mobile Pulse Mini
Here's what the Repair tracking says.

You can always try buying a Defy battery from the shop where you bought your phone, else online will probably be the only option.. that is unless you have a market with a mobile phone dealer there.
Nothing to worry
Your phone is out of juice just charge the battery by putting it in other phone(defy) or get a charger you can charge directcly you battery...The charger looks like in attachment..i dont its name.. leave the battery to charge for 1 hr...then simple steps. boot loader >RSD will detect>seletct the latest Sbf (GB kernel) not froyo.>flash it>boot it >root it>2nd init>flash the rom you want (GB kernel) Enjoyyyyyy....

Yes, i got an image like this.
If i connect the phone to usb at pc, the led white shows up and, after 10 minutes, if i longpress power button the phone boot up wiht only 5% of charge, but after a minute it shut down by its self.
So, i must buy a charger or a new battery?
P.S. I tried to wipe data/cache from stock recovery, but the phone not charge.

Hi Defy Friends,
I bought Defy two months back and when i tried to install cynogenmod 7,the screen strucks in CM7 logo and nothing happens..So i tried to replace the stock by RSD but i got error in boot loader saying "Battery Low..Cannot program."..I tried many methods for charging the battery but it fails...Now i am stuck and not able to use my defy at all...
My question is about the warranty..Is it possible to get my defy serviced back to stock by claiming the warranty?
Please help me..I am the beginner...If you have any solution to solve the device problem also you are most welcome...
Thanks in Advance
Try External charger or charge from other Defy ...if anyone around u have one...

Hi guys, I have sent my phone off for repair to HTC as i have had WI-FI issues basically since I bought the phone last year, the wi-fi disconnects at weaker areas, whereas the other phones i have tested work fine..I have only recently realised that thi was a manufacturing issue after reading reviews online. So I have decided to send the phone off for repair, a week later (today) I get a quotation from HTC of £187! Bear in mind I still have warranty on my phone..HTC initially did not state the reason why I have received the charge, they just claimed that the work required was caused by the damage that isn't covered by warranty. So i went onto HTC chat and spoke to someone called Wioleta, she eventually told me that I have installed "unauthorized software" on my phone. Now I PROMISE YOU guys, i have not done any tweaking on my phone for a long long time...before I did install a ROM rooted my phone etc, but i had to set everything to default settings as i have sent the phone off before because of a different issue ( coloured lines on my phone - if you guys remember), I have done the procedure correctly and HAVE NOT been charged by HTC for the repair,so it was done free...ever since the repair I have not done any modifications to my phone or downloaded any illegal software...So I would like to know why they said i have done this and is it possible that they could have done this?? I have attached a picture of what Wioleta has sent me on chat...I think there is a mistake somewhere because i am innocent...and I have already sent them a complaint about it, but I really need my phone back... please can somebody give me some advice on how to tackle these twats! Thanks for reading.

Basically unlocking the bootloader breaks certain warranty. It's your word against theirs.......it's been unlocked before and now they throw it on faulty software (installed by the user) !

U dont think I'll get far?
My opinion......proving legally that it's not your fault will probably cost you more then they charge you now......it's not fair i agree but proving this now is not easy
I sent my old HOX back for wifi repair the other week I did put it back to totally stock ROM and recovery but left it unlocked and they never said anything at all about it fixed it in a day and then it was on the way back to me. Not sure if your in a different country than me but really a hardware problem and a well known one should be fixed regardless of what software changes you made to the phone.
Sorry if thats not much help but you could try and push them and say other people been fixed with unlocked bootloader by speaking to someone higher up.

I have said the next thing before on a similar issue :
I am almost certain that all of this depends of the hands which the phone falls into, if it's somebody who is having an awesome day, had his coffee on time and had some fun time with the wife the evening before it might slip ....... but it also can be the opposite grumpy man and lives by the rules......if you very my point

That sucks they never even asked anything about that just asked me to send it back in original state and then just fixed it, but at least it should give you a good ground to stand on saying that other users phones have been fixed with unlocked bootloaders.

Well man, i don't know, i only answered your question. It's sad that they blaim rooting and stuff for your wifi issue, i think that they changed your motherboard or maybe not, but it's their decision, so you probably can't do anything . Unlocking bootloader has nothing to do with wifi....but ****ing HTC.

One time I also sent phone in because of WiFi and other issues...they said they replaced the WiFi module...but haha there isn't even a real module on the mainboard xD...so its the same as before but fixed then myself...my phone was also relocked and they didn't said anything...I wrote on the letter which goes also to them that WiFi is f#cked up and due to hardware issue from beginning it should be fixed with warranty..so stay on your right..say other ppl also had this issue from beginning that WiFi was bad and HTC should now that...and therefore you don't have to pay as this should be fixed under warranty

I have already paid them £27 to get my phone back without repair..I just want my phone back
I've sent mine in for the same reason in August. First time they repaired it for free but they didn't fix the problem so I sent it in again and then I had the same problem you have now.
I've been talking to several people at HTC in the meanwhile. And after explaining them that this kind of problem can't be caused by a software modification they repaired it for free.
The reason why they wanted to charge me something was because some stupid worker has seen that the bootloader was relocked and because that was not stock he wanted to replace the mainboard.
In short:
You're screwed. If you have 2 months time to discuss with them, so it. They will probably eventually repair it if they feel annoyed by you.
If you need it back now: Good luck!
What I would do:
Grab a cheap PAYG phone, unlock it, use it while kindly asking HTC to fix your phone.
Fixing the Wi-Fi is fairly easy on this phone, pop the back housing off the phone, get a small piece of aluminium foil and tape the top and bottom of the foil to the gold antenna next to where the volume keys are on the plastic housing, here's a video to help: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbmGNL1dsf0&feature=youtube_gdata_player

Push the bottom of the phone away from the screen, once that's unclipped use a thin object to work your way around the sides (guitar pick for example, you may need two) once the housing is unclipped from the phone slowly pull them apart. This needs to be done slowly as theres some adhesive hold long the middle of the back on, here's a video to show you what I mean. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mAr4WWbn9Hc&feature=youtube_gdata_player

thanks mate..will it work 100%? doesn't seem recommended to use foil inside a phone?
Finally tested it today and it really works!. The real fact is on web you always find that "it should" be the battery, and a battery change "whould" solve it, well I have to try it and it really does, so you should get a battery somewhere ( check out I found 2 places on www, dunno if I can put the links please say If I can do so ) and get your phone alive again! ( I'm so happy  )
Here are 2 dissasemble videos; one from our friend "danieldp1990" and one in russian HD. Whould reccomend use both of them since as nice as the russian video looks, they're missing some parts.
The most hard part is to remove the battery since it's glued and you don't wanna do much strenght since you have the display right below it, so make it slowly.

My Xperia ZL just started doing this sudden shutoff thing but it seams to be getting worse, it's gotten so bad that when you boot up the phone it shows the SONY logo then immediately shuts off. When I plug it into the wall charger the LED lights up RED and then the SONY logo then reboot over and over(Bootloop). But yet i'm able to get it into fastboot and flashmode fine and can flash ftf through Flashtools with no problems i'm wondering if this could be a simple battery problem or if it's a software error. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.
There are loads of posts about this issue on Sony's official forum. Looks like you either have to send it to Sony or put a new battery in.

I finally replaced the battery in my zl, and it fixed the issues of not powering on. But the new battery appears to be having issues. Sometimes it went charge. It will fluctuate percentages, for ex it would go from 58 to 56 to 60 to 55 etc.. It's been acting crazy. Even on various roms. I restored an old backup of miui I had, and it seems more stable, but still won't charge full. The replacement battery was a Sony oem one so I'm not Sue what's up.

It WILL fix it.
Sudden power off, Not powering on unless charger attached, missing signal/signal problems, ultimately not even powering on with charger is the whole same issue = Crappy Sony battery ( programmed obsolescence )
Now it's happening again to me. Will NEVER buy a Sony product again in life.

sir , i'm having exactly same problem as of yours, i spend so many days and night on my phone by reading forums and follow steps to correct my phone but till now no luck.
could you pls help me if you got the solution for your problem...
waiting for reply...
My phone is showing gray static with dots. Is the flex cable the root of the problem? The problem will disappear when I slide down the gamepad but comes back again when I slide it inside again.

hi guys..thanks for replying..it was indeed a flex cable problem..i managed to replace the flex cable with a friend's help and by following youtube vids..now although my slider and screen are back to normal I've a strange and peculiar problem of which i never heard of and still couldnt find any solution to..my camera app is acting totally weird ..it can record a video and play it but it cant take a pic..i mean it appears to click a pic..but i can't review it and it doesn't even appear anywhere in the gallery( unlike the vid )..and whats more strange is the front cam takes pics and saves in the sd only the rear cam is having the problem and also the camera app becomes unresponsive afterwards...
list of stuff i check
1.checked with different sd cards
2. tried other camera apps..same result
3. changed roms/kernels
4.fully re-flashed stock re locked bootloader
i even checkd with the xperia diagnostic tool ..all the sensors..touches..touchpads ..evrythings working..but whenever i click on camera it fcs.
Please please help me out!!!:crying::crying:
I'd try to dissasemble the phone yet again and make sure that you haven't messed up any of the connections. Those cables are really tiny. Also check whether one of them is not broken. When I replaced my flex cable the digitizer cable got a small crack. Had to buy a new one. My friend actually messed up and I have no idea whether he broke it or it broke by itself, so check that.
Please remember to reply with quotes so I'd get a notification about it
Olokos is right. You must have missplaced flex cable from rear camera while reassembling. Just open it again, but only lower part (where motherboard is, should be easy), and remove and instert camera flex cable again

hehe u r kidding right?.....cuz i know you dev people are geniuses
anyway here's that thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1134334..
..so i just got back frm the service center..missing my xplay already.
The service guy was as confused as me when i showed him the problem and yes i relocked the bootloader before giving the phn to them..actually few months back a friend's phone was rejected a paid service cuz he had his bl unlocked ..i dont know why ..but they use seus or emma tool maybe to flash stock fw to solve the common users software problems ..i think thats their preliminary to troubleshoot a device, and also seus displays "the user has modified the device' or something similar kind of message so i did it just to be safe...hope they find out whats wrong with my phone and fix it...

@olokos haha ya sure..even m really curious to know....but theres a bit of info that i think could be imp and im sorry i missed out on that while i posted here at the first place...the thing is that since i didnt get the flex cable individually anywhere so i ordered the whole slider board from ebay
http://www.ebay.in/itm/New-Flat-Cab...ny-Ericsson-Play-R800-Phone-OEM-/281330850312.
my friend who helped me fix the slider flex cable replaced that whole part and took the front cam and its flex from the old one and attached to the new one cuz the new one was missing the front cam..and after putting up the phone together during the first time front cam was inverted and rear wasnt working,so he reopened and placed the front cam correctly to get it right..
and as I posted before the front cam is working fine since then...so could it be in any way the real problem behind my back camera not functioning.
...
and i didnt mentioned all these to service guy
New problem
hi all..
bad news ..i got it back frm service center today..they couldn't get it fixed..said there might be a problem with the eeprom ac or the circuits near to it (idk what it means)..then i thought to myself i can live without the cam and brought the phone home..now upon charging the screen is getting ghost touches i mean the touch screen has gone automatic since i switched it on..( though the ts was working fine when i tried it in service center)...
whats possibly wrong with it now.??..pls help guys..

I also had this problem. I can't tell for sure where the problem is, but I'd suggest you to take a really close look at the digitizer flex cable.
Hey guys,
After waiting an insane amount of time, I finally received my new razr from verizon.
Got extremely excited when I saw that the "allow oem unlocking" toggle was visible in the dev options. Trying to unlock the bootloader and I'm able to get an unlock code with
$ fastboot oem get_unlock_data
The problem is that when I go to submit the unlock code onto motorolas dev website, it trys to tell me that the unlock key is "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA". Thats obviously not correct (and doesn't work).
Pretty sure users arent supposed to be able to unlock the bootloader so the fact that I'm even prompted the option is kinda amazing. All I need to do is figure out what the key value is supposed to be and I'll be able to unlock it.
Looked into the unlock code that I can generate and I can tell its comprised of things like the imei and model number but the third value that is returned looks to be the values I need. Gotta figure out a way to reverse engineer their key generation. Anyone have any thoughts on this?
Edit: EIther way, i'm gonna do my best to generate this key. Ill upload the code to generate your key once its made to github (STILL WOULD APPRECIATE INPUT)
They have an unlocked model that's available outside of the US. It'd be cheaper and easier to buy that then try to reverse engineer a solution. There's no way they make it easy reverse engineer it

If and when you succeed, please feel free to share. Maybe we can finally stick it to VZW with their corporate policy innuendos.

Bootloader partitions from Motorola Edge+ is here:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=82630243&postcount=24
Hello everyone. Tell me please. Faced with such a situation (trouble). I bought a phone, put it on charging, which was included with the original from Motorola. From 19:00 pm to 07:00, it is charged only up to 75%. This is a very long time, firstly, and secondly, I did not want to charge further. Tried other chargers, blocks, cords, etc. It didn't help. Now I connected it to the computer via a cord and put it on charging, charging went from 75%, it only rose by 2% in about an hour, i.e. it became 77%.
What is this problem? Has anyone else encountered such a problem?
I tried to turn it off and charge it when the phone is turned off. As a result, the same result.
The lower half of the phone is heated during charging, the upper one is NOT! Cold. I.e. it seems that there is no battery in the upper part, or it is not charging.)
Here's a man who threw me off like his.
For some reason I have written where the item Tools Mode Config: ENABLE.
For everyone who has seen it, it says: DISABLED.

hey! i unlocked my bootloader last night. i submitted my code in the motorola's website, and it said that my phone was ''unlockable'', but if i reject my guarantee they would send me the code, so i accepted and they sent the code to my email. the process is explained here: https://www.getdroidtips.com/unlock-bootloader-motorola-razr-2019/
i spent the night trying to find a GSI rom that works, but no success =(
some roms bootlooped, some roms booted but didn't get any internet signal..
the phone has dm-verity enabled, so to it boots i flashed the vbmeta with --disable-verity --disable-verification and i think this was my error... so i went back to stock rom because i need it to work to day. we can't do much without a custom recovery =(
so, we need a custom recovery, and to extract the proprietary blobs! the device tree too but i think we can get something from motorola astro
i'll see if i can do something when i get more time!
regards!!

I recently got a new Motorola phone and first time I charged it, it took a long time. Turns out the charger supplied with the phone sucked. I used old charger from a previous phone and it was a quick charger. Worked much better.

Spoiler
I have such readings shown through testing. I don't understand at all what is happening and for what reason.
When I bought a used phone, it had 22% charge on it, I put it on charge immediately, it charged somewhere up to 30% and started updating the phone from Android 10 to Anroid 11 and getting security patches while charging. Then, as I updated the phone, I took it reset to factory settings and decided to charge it to 100 before the end%
But I did not succeed to 100%, because I have already told you why. I have up to 50% charging the original Turbo Power 18W charges quickly, and then after 50% very slowly and only up to 80% and that's it. And the closer where 80% is charged, the longer this process lasts and can drag on for a whole day.
I did tests on Accu Battery and every time everything is unclear on the battery. Some nonsense shows.
Maybe there was some kind of protection in the update, as in the iPhone, up to 80% is charged and that's it?
my battery is very bad, i didnt really understood how bad is yours, but i bought the phone new
i mean, this is by far the worst battery i had until today
the phone is very cool and all, everyone goes crazy when sees it, but i have a oneplus 7 too and i'm thinking in using it as daily driver
btw just managed to root the phone, pateched the boot.img with magisk

I agree. This battery is at the Pixel 4 level, or even worse.
Even stupidly, when the phone is on the table and you don't use it, the battery melts before your eyes. Not enough even from 9:00 to 18:00
But what surprises me is not even that the battery is weak, but what is going on with charging. When it takes a very long time to charge after 50% and does not charge to 100% and at the same time the program shows that the battery is new, although it cannot be new here.)
Hum. I had some problems charging , it was very slow in the beginning. But now it seems much better. I used Franco kernel manager to measure but it was buggy

Wait, was this on the Verizon variant or do you have some other one? Since as far as I'm aware the Verizon variant can't be bootloader unlocked.
