Hi,
I am facing a typical problem that during every call if I swipe the middle white phone icon to the left to disconnect call, of does not work. I tried it multiple times. Can someone please suggest if I am doing it improperly.
Thanks for your time.

Um. If you're talking about the big red bar with the phone icon all you do is press it.

Thanks for your reply.
I just tried to make a call from another phone to my GNex to verify and my phone is coming as Switched off. Whereas my Gnex is ON and I am able to make phone calls from it to others, but unable to receive any.
Does anyone reported similar issues?
I don't understand your problem. Your first post says you are unable to decline incoming calls. The second post says you can't receive any calls. Which one is it?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I was just doing some tests to decline incoming calls and found the second issue. Below are the problems I am facing -
1. I am unable to decline / disconnect any incoming call. If I swipe the white middle call icon to left the phone vibrates but do not disconnect the call.
2. If phone screen is off for more than 1 hours (appx.) then I think phone goes into deep sleep mode. If I try calling my gnex from other mobile then a switched off message comes. This problem is fixed once I make a dummy call / send any message to other phone.
My phone is not rooted. I would appreciate the feedbacks.
Nvm, misread

NP.
I was just searching the forums but could not any similar thread on these problems. Am I doing something wrong or is it a phone H/W issue?
I've never heard of it before. If you're on stock rom the only thing to try could be a hard reset and if that doesn't help manually reflash factory images. If all fails, I'd return the phone.

Thanks again for your response.
I have few apps purchased, so will these be removed once I hard reset my phone? Is there any way to get them back without purchasing again.

Google play will remember the purchases. They are tied to your Google account. After you login with your Google account you can download them again without charge. Even on a different phone.

I did a hard reset of my gnex. The call disconnect bug got fixed automatically but not the other one (problem# 2). My phone is still coming as switched off at times.
Anything else I can do to fix it.

I'd try:
1) unlock bootloader (if you haven't done this already)
2) backup /sdcard
3) flash stock JB images: https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/images

Good luck, and I obviously got steps 1 and 2 mixed up: first backup /sdcard, because unlocking your bootloader will wipe it.
I am not sure if it is bug but here is what I observed in past 6 hours.
There is network issue with gnex (phone is coming switched off intermittently) when Mobile networks -> Data Enable flag is NOT checked.
But when data network link is enabled there is no issue with my phone and it works without issues or disconnects.
I have still not rooted / flashed the phone.

Did you make a nandroid backup after you installed a custom recovery, if you did you could test things from earlier. I'd look in an earlier backup for the problem as part of the process of elimination, as well as data wipe/reset. Is it possible it is your network? Use another phone and call your phone, can you reproduce the event? Does it put you to vm? Does it keep ringing? Do you have a 3rd party app that could be tied to it? How about Google voice?

Yes I have a backup. I have yet to do a factory wipe I was hoping to avoid it but I will do one to see if that fixes it. I don't have any app that I think interacts with my ringing other than zedge and trays just for ringtones. I can replicate the error every time from any network that calls. What would Google voice do for me?
The best advice I can give you is to start fresh and add things one by one testing each time for the problem you experience. When and if you find the culprit you can go from there.

Hi All,
I have a N7105 and I've just noticed that I'm not receiving any notifcations from Facebook or WhatsApp (I've only tested it on those 2 apps so far) running on data not WiFi when the screen is off.
Once I turn the screen on, the notifications still don't appear, however once I access an app or internet browser that requires data connection, then I would receive those notifications. It seems like the data is switched OFF when the screen is also off.
I've read a few posts outside of XDA and apperntly it could be a 'Jelly Bean' 4.1.1 bug?
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?
Cheers
Anyone?

Which rom are you on? If you're on the newest, try getting on an older one to see if it helps.
Also have you checked your APN settings for your carrier?
Lastly, check that you do in fact get NO data as soon as the screen is off. Test all the apps, and email. Download an app from Play, and turn off the screen mid way to see if it interrupts.

Im on jelly bean 4.1.1.
I've checked my APN even reset to default even though I didnt touch it when it came out of the box from my service provider.
Most of the time I wont receuve a notification unless I turn the screen on and wait a minute or 2. However they do come through sometimes when the screen is off but theres like at least a 10-20 min delay from when the message was sent to me and the maximum time ive noticed is 1 hour.
I called Samsung and they suggest I hard reset using a code they gave me. Really frustrating and ive only had this fone for just over a week.
I don't really want to hard reset this brand new fone. But it looks like I have no choice since no 1 else is experiencing this problem.

Its a possibility but my cousin has the exact same fone and we're with the same carrier as we both got thr phones at the same time.
He's sgn2 is fine. Receives all notifications when the screen is off seamlessly. I compared both our settings and its exactly the same. Which is why I doubt that it would be a carrier fault. But I again I could be wrong.

Ok. I gave up. I ended up factory resetting the phone. Its resetting now as I type.
What is more frustrating the code: *2767*3855# to hard reset didnt even work! It came up with an error saying that it is an invalid code.
So i just went to settings then factory reset.
If this doesnt fix the problem, I will call Samsung again and ask for a replacement handset.

Sometimes my phone has gotten wonky on time usually as a result of battery swaps. happened even prior to my rooting.
All i needed to do was toggle off/on the Auto time set feature and it resets as it should.
All most over slept one morning because I for got to check the time after a battery swap prior to going to bed. Phone is my main alarm clock.
Just go to settings then under system go to date and time and then set the time yourself.

Samsung has introduced a qualcomm time service that might be responsible for weird time behavior. I know on my phone it can be off by up to two minutes, so what I did was disable this from running. If you're rooted, you can either disable it in titanium/application settings/adb OR just remove the application from /system/app/TimeService.apk

Is there any way to shut off those extremely annoying emergency alerts? I've gotten two rather annoying and pointless severe weather emergency alerts one at 3am & the other at 5am. And before you say I didn't look through the settings or search there is no cell broadcast setting or any way to disable them in messaging on 4.2.2. Any help is appreciated.

I'm going to make an assumption and guess you're using sprint? If so it has nothing to do with 4.2.2 and everything to do with your carrier. Everyone I know that uses sprint has complained of recently receiving emergency notifications out of nowhere. So I can't help you, but if you're with sprint I'd complain directly to them.

Default aosp won't build the settings menu on properly for the emergency alerts. You have to edit a make file or something somewhere . Are you compiling it yourself? I can look at my setup later and let you know what the actual edit is if you are.

I thought I always checked that when building from AOSP...guess I forgot . If you want, you can probably dirty flash this rom. It's based off of the google image, so everything should work correctly.
Are you sure it isn't Google Now?
It's actually under the stock messaging app. Open messaging app and hit the 3 dots (settings) and choose Cell broadcasts. Then hit the 3 dots again and uncheck the alerts from there.

Sorry, I must have misread that last part in the op. That's odd. I thought all stock messaging apps had that option. Hope you get it figured out soon.

Hey guys. I'm new to the Galaxy Nexus forum and I need help. My phone has been turning its screen back on after I lock it. Most people say its a hardware issue but I just got this phone and its brand new. Is it a software issue?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
You bet it can. Try factory resetting your phone. I do assume you're still running stock everything.
If you are and that fails, a hardware issue could be due to a sticky or faulty power button.
