I haven't seen this problem, or heard of it on this rom, but...it was common on a lot of ICS roms. If the download never starts try this:
1. Open Terminal Emulator
2. Type "su" and hit enter
3. Type "killall drmserver" and hit enter
4. Close Terminal Emulator and try installing the app update again.
If it is a problem actually seeing your apps in play, there is a different workaround, but it doesn't sound like this is your issue.

Glad it helped, and you probably want to memorize that sequence. You may have to do it every reboot. It's pretty hit or miss, and some roms have it and others don't.

I don't think anyone has discovered a way, except that down the line it will likely be fixed in the rom.
It seems to happen pretty infrequently, it hasn't happened to me yet.
It happens to me every time I have to reboot my phone. The code helps, and is thankfully easily memorized.
EDIT: I wonder if this is related to downgrading HBOOT from 98? I'm not too savvy how all that stuff works, but I know that was an unusual circumstance. Kinglsey1, did you downgrade?

Yeah, I downgraded my Stock Gingerbread ROM so I could root my phone. Then flashed CM9, and eventually CM10. What makes you suspect downgrading is the cause of the drmserver running afowl?
Hboot has nothing to do with it, everyone who is S-OFF had to downgrade it. I'm sure you could make an init.d script to do it on boot, or use script manager to run a script on boot. I'd do it but I'm not at my computer right now.

As I said before, I don't really know how all of it works, but I just thought that it may have since when I was looking to get S-OFF, downgrading HBOOT from 98 to 97 wasn't a usual thing to do, and neither was having this error.

1.) You should be able to install these new gapps from CWM Recovery:
Reboot your phone and start Recovery
>>install zip from sdcard >> choose zip from sdcard >> Choose your new gapp zip file >> Choose Yes

I used unrevoked to root my EVO-4G and put the nightly mod on the sdisk and tried updating in recovery by selecting flash update from sdcard. why didn't it work? Basically it started up the phone and would stay at the splash screen. I fixed it, but I would really like to flash some custom ROMs. I am now running 3.07 with radio 2.15 etc. is there something I am missing? I am somewhat new to this and all the info you can give me would really help.
ps: when I boot in hboot mode it says "Supersonic EVT3 ship s-off, HBOOT 2.02" on the top
You need to wipe your /data and /cache partitions before flashing. The easiest thing to do is download and flash the FORMAT_ALL.zip (search for it on here, I've attached it a few times) and then flash CM.
Here is a link to Calkulin's mods, the Format all zip is in the OP (origianl post).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=785271
Also, if formatting doesn't work, try redownloading the ROM, perhaps you got a corrupt downlaod...

Quite right! An MD5sum can verify this. Just run the md5sum command from the command line, or if you're on Windows, use this:

Thank you guys, I will certainly try the suggestions above. I did wipe all data/cache before flashing the first time. I thought that maybe the latest nightly ROM didn't have the propper radio version for my phone. Is this a possibility?
Alright, so I flashed the regular CyanogenMod the one that says "stable" because the nightly was just too experimental for me... lol. anyways, it looks the same as the Nightly did, I haven't noticed any problems yet, but how do I dl apps? I do not see a market

If you're talking about the Sprint Visual VoiceMail, if you search in the Themes & Apps section, you can find a download. Otherwise, the most popular voicemail solution is Google Voice, which is what I use.
I dl it from on of the forums THIS ONE and it works great, but I now get a text msg every time I get a vm. is there a better place for me to dl it where this will not happen. I am not satisfied with just blocking that text number like they suggest

Hey i need a different recovery than rom manager all i get now is error messages when flashing new roms something about it being updated to 3.0 gingerbread and i dont understand then it says flashing aborted??? wtf does that mean??? I never had a problem before. Im thinking of getting a different phone so i can start fresh and not install that stupid program. Why update a perfectly good program to the point of not even being able to use it?? Someone save me im going crazy. If anyone has a link to a different recovery or an older rom manager version plzzz hook me up with it.
What version of CWM are you on. I'm assuming 3.0.0.5 ........
It sounds like you are most likely using the new RM (3.x) with an old recovery (2.x)
For more info on the changes to recovery:
[RECOVERY][UNOFFICIAL]Clockworkmod 3 series
That will also explain why you are seeing certain scripts fail.
If you want to update your recovery, in RM go to your settings and check off "erase recovery." Then in the main screen again, scroll down to "All ClockworkMod Recoveries" and choose 3.0.0.8

That would be a massive overreaction to a very fixable problem. Also, it doesn't matter what phone you are using: to use RM's functionality, you have to be using a compatible version of recovery.

Sounds like youre trying to flash a zip not using edify...ask the developer to update to 3.x, i also never use rm to flash roms, and i advise you to go into recovery manually. 2.x is going to be obsolete if it technically isnt already. So eventually well only b using 3.x

With my infuse I learned never to flash an at&t or factory update without first going back to 100% stock. Custom recoveries and roms don't play well with those updates.

Changes I see on phone
Android version: 2.3.5 (still)
Baseband version: P930-MDM9200B-V10j-FEB-26-2012-XX 1[Feb 26 2012 17:51:13] (updated)
Kernel version: 2.6.35.11 (there is no + at the end?)
Build number: GRJ90
Software version: LG-P930-V10j-FEB-26-2012
I got excited about the update but ICS can't be only 20 some odd megs.
Don't want to be the first one to bear the bad news but if they are working on fixing bugs in GB, I don't think we will be getting ICS anytime soon from LG/AT&T.
Well Skyrocket just got a Gingerbread update too cuple of days ago. And theybhave ICS leaked

The thing that interests me the most about this upgrade is the baseband update. I wonder if it resolves any issues.
2 questions-
Has anybody successfully installed this yet?
If I go to install it, I would want to remove CWM recovery, does uninstalling the CWM app do that or is there more to uninstalling the recovery?
You need to flash the stock recovery from adb. See the bootloop thread for instructions. Although after flashing I still want able to get update to install.

wait, can i run the adb command to do this throught the terminal emulator on the phione?
probably because going into *#*#INFO#*#* and choosing select radio band.. causes CRASH. Hope they fixed that with the baseband update. Hopefully option in settings to choose preferred newtwork type as well.
Can anyone pull the baseband off of an updated phone?

@kernelpan1c,
Yup, I was going to ask for these images as well. It would really simplify things for people who don't want to go through the trouble of returning to stock simply to get an updated baseband and firmware. It'd be nice if someone shared their system, boot, and possibly even stock recovery images as well.
I don't think anybody has installed it!
So I tried installing a status bar icon replacement on Cyanogenmod and ended up getting stuck on boot loop somehow...
I went into recovery and wiped data, wiped my cache and dalvik cache and it's still stuck on boot loop...

it doesnt have to be on the root of your device, as long as its in your storage. if its in the storage, find that location amd flash it. now what do you mean you cant exactly set it there without it turning on? you lost me there.

I meant I need to be able to have the phone fully turned on in order to move the zip over to it.

Hi everyone!
I'm using the latest MoKee MK44 ROM for our Ace.
I really like this ROM but there seems to be a problem with the kernel. It reboots randomly during read or write processes.
Does anybody know something to fix that problem?
I attached the last_kmsg, maybe you can tell me whats going wrong here.
EDIT: It seems that it's not MoKee causing this problem.
EDIT2: I got a solution for the problem, take look at this post.
I haven't experienced that....but if I were to,I would definitely just clean flash ROM again.
I did so, tested several times. Flashed CM11 -> seems to be no problem. Flashed MoKee (no matter if you choose stable or nightly) -> random reboots. When I flash CM11 again I cannot say theres any problem.
Maybe somebody who knows more about last_kmsg can tell me whats wrong.
But thank you for reply!
Does really nobody knows something about the last_kmsg? Here are so many professionals and none of you can help?
Attached another last_kmsg, I took it right after a reboot.
Pulled battery, booted to recovery and copied it so I think there aren't many non-relevant events at the end of the file.
Attached file is now zip, maybe you don't like rar, I don't know. Thanks

I didn't know if "jriors" one is a special version but that is exactly the recovery I am using.
I got it from that thread, not from the mirror on page 4 you linked me to but from his first post.
So this would not change anything. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
All I can say is that maybe u got a bad download. Redownload the ROM and check md5. Then flash it with jriors. Should work fine then
Ok, looked for the checksums, matched.
And again, does really nobody know anything about the kernel log file? No idea? No clues?
I'm testing latest CM11 once again, maybe I find something...
EDIT: Tested under same conditions. Same problem with CM11. So I think an app or setting is causing it.
Would be very helpful if someone can take a look into kernel log.
My advice is to factory reset from recovery. Then go under advanced wipe and chose cache, dalvik, android secure and system wipe. Then flash the ROM and gapps..reboot after and let it run before logging in play store or installing any apps

Can I plz have the link you're getting this ROM from? I think that maybe ur downloading an incompatible rom
I'm sure I do the procedures correct, tried simple factory reset (with recovery) and additionally wipe /system and android secure too.
Download ROM from here, look for checksums, flash boot.img separately.
But now, even if I only use it like it's been flashed, I'm getting reboots. Not only reboots. It seems that everything isn't correct.
Freshly flashed, want to reboot device normally but hangs during reboot dialog or bootloops...
Currently I'm testing the first ROM flashed the DHD with, CM11 OnePlusOne Edition and
THAT Rom seems to work. No reboots, hangs or bootloops, very confusing...
So it's getting very difficult to help me, no pattern I can follow to get out what's wrong
I thought Titanium Backup was the problem but like I said, even if it's clean it doesn't work.
Well, I will test everything again, let's see.

No, thought of it but I was to lazy to read me through all the things I have to do,
flashing original ROM and what I have to keep in mind and so on...
Maybe I will try it but my time is also limited.
In the last_kmsg you can read that right after "rebooting in 5 seconds" there is "BUG: scheduling while atomic: htc_ebdlogd..."
I simply deleted the file htc_ebdlogd (because I don't know what else to do) and rebooted, seems to be no problem without that.
Till now the problem does not occurred. Till now..
Same problem on CM11 M9?
I think I'm having the same problem with CM11 on my Ace. I installed it this afternoon and have had random reboots on multiple occasions. Can't find a pattern for when it occurs. I don't have a logcat log from when it happens yet, but I'll try to obtain one.
My phone is S-ON (only HTCDev unlocked) and I used the TWRP 2.7.1.0 from [1], the CM11 M9 build from [2] and the PA GApps Modular Nano package from [3]. I installed by:
In TWRP:
1) Wipe (should wipe everything right?)
2) Install CM11 zip
3) Install PA GApps zip
Then flashed the extracted boot.img from fastboot.
I'd be very interested in hearning if deleting htc_ebdlogd really worked for you Vega Bullet.

The kernel log is located under /proc named last_kmsg
For now it works fine let's but I don't really know if there are any consequences nor if it works.
EDIT: After a few days of testing a can say there are no reboots anymore, I am using MoKee MK44 for Ace and it's working fine.
Although I still don't know about consequences I can't say there are any but you do it without warranty.
So if you experience the same error
(means random reboot,
look into /proc/last_kmsg,
you should see the line "BUG: scheduling while atomic: htc_ebdlogd..."),
make a nandroid and delete htc_ebdlogd (should be located in /system/bin).
Btw, looking at the MoKee Source I only see one reference to this binary, it's located under ramdisk/init.spade.rc .
Maybe someone know's more and what it's good for, like I said without it I don't see differences...
