What is 'Jellybro'? - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Is this just a nickname for Jellybean?

No, it's the name of a build. Essentially CM10 with a few cherry picked / added features.

Thanks for the response. So I guess 'Jellybelly' is another build too?

Yes, though I believe for the Nexus S, not the S3.

[ROM][KANG][CM9] | [16/12/2011] | inofficial CM9 - ICS Builds | GSM Version

Hi, to get a feeling about the CM9 - ICS progress, i am building CM9 Kangs from the actual cyanogen source.
Fell free to use them ON YOUR OWN RISK.
This is not an official cyanogenMOD release and you will not get official support from the cyanogen dev team.
I will update the KANG if there are important changes.
DOWNLOAD

Google Apps
http://dl.thomaskuepper.net/gapps-ics-20111125-2.zip
Flashing
* Boot into Clockwork
* Make a FULL NAND Backup
* Wipe dalvik and cache
* Flash ROM + Google Apps
* Reboot
many thanks to the CM Team, i take no credit on all of this.
erm... there are no changes in the sources... only the ones from the original google devs...?
or where did you get the Sources from?

as i said it is the cyanogen source.
github.com/cyanogenmod
So no actual CM Code in it, only stock code.
Yeah and also using these gapps gtalk is FC for me (in my own KANGs of the source that is.)
edit: There are minor changes from Google's sources: http://review.cyanogenmod.com/#q,status:merged+branch:ics,n,z

Would love to see what work and what doesn't before flashing..
I wiped and flashed my GN yesterday and accidentally deleted all my backups, so i spent like 2 hours restoring the phone.. Don't feel like doing it again today.
Any willing guinea pigs around ??

Well, aren't those kangs from Koush? AFAIK he is a developer for CM, and a very talented one. But still, it's open-source, and he gives the proper credits. As long as people are aware this build is -probably- far from perfect (e.g. non working camera etc) then it's fine. I think. Unless CM object
EDIT: nvm, thought you mentioned the Nexus S (it's getting late)

this is the first kang of cm i see around for galaxy nexus. and i've had the phone pretty much since its release.
Naturally, I know cm9 nightlies aren't available yet, I've used cm7 kangs built by me on SGS pretty much since last year, so i'm used to it's release schedule (NO ETA).
As it's not official, it will get no support from CM team. If you search around, you'll see that no kang can be called a CM rom unless it's released by a member of the team.

Kangs has been posted on twitter by the guys at euroskank: http://fitsnugly.euroskank.com/skankwich/maguro/
Maguro is our code name so I'm sure those are the CM9 kangs for our phones. It just hasn't been posted on XDA but its been going around twitter for the past couple of days.
You don't have to be a developer at CM to post their releases if its kangs. He's not taking credit, it is all credited to CM and CM is purely open source. There isn't really a "developer" for CM, if you want to contribute. Go ahead, nothings stopping you, it just has to be approved thats all. (Pretty much what you said), and I'm sure everything is working. I had a Nexus S using CM9 kangs constructed by FuZZ and guys at euroskank and everything worked except video.
So I'm sure that maguro would be fine because all the library files for Galaxy Nexus are already available. But everything is still a alpha build. It's considered alpha because a lot of the CM9 features are incomplete. The latest kang comes with DSP Manager so it's getting closer and closer for a beta as everyday goes by.
Numerous tweets (according from twitter) from various "CM devs" such as kmobs, koush (and probably more) have the device so I'm sure it will receive official support.

Its a lot like an rom built on a Google buildbox and an aosp rom built on a user's buildbox.
The Google rom is automagically better because its official

Well. not only that.
When Google releases something, they probably don't leave broken links on their FP for 4 releases. Like this rootzwiki link has.
You want me to trust someone who is unable to post and maintain a link to reliably and correctly build, package and distribute a full firmware package, for a phone he admits he does not have?
First GSM builds couldn't even be installed because the updater script asserterted "toro". That's a pretty glaring mistake.
Sorry for not really trusting that release particularly much.

We just can't have nice things due to the haters.
well, despite all problems, we still hope another competitor shows up here..

After the dev hate I saw in here, I don't think I will. Everyone is a critic, few of them step up to the challenge and fix their whines.

the chinese say "Our port is based on the manufacture’s original ROM. So the device to be selected needs to have original ROM 4.0. "
so which device out of those has an official, original 4.0 ROM?
1. Samsung Galaxy Nexus
2.Samsung Galaxy S II i9100
3. Huawei Honor

No CM10 support?

I am wondering why there is no OFFICIAL CM10 ROM on here for Sprint Gnex? Is t because CM10 wants us to go to their website instead? Ad based? I don't get it all ROMs are based off of CM10 but not officially....?

You can always ask for your money back.
Lol true....?
What do you mean by officially?
Maybe the maintainer for the CM10 Toroplus don't have time/don't want to maintain a thread here. It is offically supported even though it isnt here at XDA.

the "Galaxy Nexus Android Development" even if used as GSM reference, its the generic section..u can refer to the CM10 thread in there..when u post a problem/question just specify u are on toroplus...there are already people with toro and toroplus following there

Thank u, simple honest answer.
The CM10 thread for GSM wasn't started by a CM team member either. Important to note that just because a thread doesn't exist on XDA does not indicate whether there's support or not.

Paranoid Android

Paranoid Android is probably top 3 of my all time favorite ROMs, my backup nexus 5 just suffered an accident (*silently cries* ) but that lead me to this thought...is there anybody out there who can and is willing to maintain an unofficial build of paranoid android for the note 3?

I've ran PAC, great ROM, but Im actually kinda interested in the new PA feature hover, as well
i'm sure it will be on PAC rom real soon if its in PA beta now
So what if we just flash the one for n9005? With an Aosp compatible kernel.
