Paranoid Android - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Paranoid Android is probably top 3 of my all time favorite ROMs, my backup nexus 5 just suffered an accident (*silently cries* ) but that lead me to this thought...is there anybody out there who can and is willing to maintain an unofficial build of paranoid android for the note 3?

Look in to PAC-ROM. I believe it has lots of the features from paranoid.

I've ran PAC, great ROM, but Im actually kinda interested in the new PA feature hover, as well

i'm sure it will be on PAC rom real soon if its in PA beta now

So what if we just flash the one for n9005? With an Aosp compatible kernel.

"hover" is listed in the features for PAC Rom, I just checked. Looks like an awesome ROM

You could also try out Temasek's Unofficial CM11 builds, LOVE them. First ROM I have been with for such a long time. If you want info, his Twitter handle is @temasek71

or CM6, CM5 etc...
A better question would be is a rom ever complete? There will always be bugs that are found that do need to be fixed just like Android in general it's never really "done" there are always updates to it that fix things.
What gingerbread rom do they have for our phone. Looking to try them out.

Well you do realize that our phone is CDMA, Proprietary code is not available for some of the hardware which greatly increases the time it takes to develop our phones ports.
If you like the idea of a Complete CyanogenMod you should grab an international GSM phone preferably a stock AOSP device. You will have a "complete" rom alot faster than you ever will with a sprint device.
The OG epic only became officially supported not long ago.

There is no "official" GB rom from CM for this phone. Rootzwiki has an "unofficial" CM7.1/2 that's no longer supported however. We are getting "official" CM9 and the Alpha 1 is in the Dev section.

I was told that the Alpha 1 wasn't official.?
There are at least 3 or 4 Cyanogenmod attempts for our phone, isn't that a set team that always develops or can anyone attempt a Cyanogenmod? Don't understand how there can be multiple Cyanogenmod ROMs for our phone?

I think you mean to say there are multiple AOSP-based (original ICS w/o Touchwiz) ROMs for our phone.
Sbrissen and Darchstar are currently working on CM9 for our phone.
T.C.P. has released AOKP, Gummy, and Codename Android for our phone.

Anyone is free to take the CM code and build their own ROM. That's the beauty of open source. All they ask is that such derivative builds are labeled as kangs or otherwise make note that they are using CM9's codebase.
Anyone can become a member of CM if they do good work such as committing bug fixes to the project and take a role in supporting CM on a particular device
Darchstar's build should be considered the "official" CM9 build for our phone. He's part of the CM team. However, until he or others are able to build a working kernel from source for the E4GT and not use Samsung's we won't have a truly CM9 build.

No rom is complete without official ice release.. they don't even have source for our phones yet for ics. Therefore it cannot be completed.. plus kudos to the person who said it will never be complete based off of bugs plus there are always ways to improve a rom regardless; of how "complete" it is.. would you want a dev to make a rom then never update it? They can't make it official until everything is working..

Nothing is ever finished in android
Notice the carriers always pushing fixes. ICS will probably be updated within a month after official drops.
Just the nature of the beast.

Android has become more and more complex to develop for (both in terms of skill and computing power), and the true developers (not including people who just modify existing roms) have become more spread out across devices.

Two questions

What is the difference between Original Android development and just Android development?
Any news about MIUI jumping on the Nexus 7 2013?

I believe, technically, the original development section is for developers that creates new material. Examples include Paranoid Android, CyanogenMod, etc. The regular development section is for ROMs like Clean ROM that are based off the stock ROM with some APK tweaks . As well as other ROMs that will pop up based off of AOSP that are mostly kangs. Hope that helps!

Im working on doing build CM10.2 for this device now and hopefully get some official nightly out for us, so in between doing that and MIUI for the rezound, I was going to try and get MIUI on the nexus 7. The problem that you run into for MIUI is its not officially supported past 4.1.2 and very very very few devices (2 as matter of fact) support 4.2.2. So being this device is 4.3, and might be able to get 4.2 on here, MIUI might be a while. But i do plan on trying to build a MIUI build for this

Swagstr! Nice to see you around these neck of the woods. I was a fan of your rom on the Evo 3D back in the day. Hopefully we get to see some of your great work on here too.

I saw a guild how to port from cm to paranoid. I tried but couldn't get past the bootloop. Maybe it would work better after cm is completely working.
here is the link if anyone is interested. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2232773

That's the key. A lot of other ROMs are forks from CM, so once you have CM working, it's not a big jump to get to AOKP, Paranoid, MIUI or whatever.
Doesn't the Samsung Galaxy S4 and the HTC One share the same SoC? Not that I know anything about developing but I assumed it would be slightly easier to port ROM's to our device.

Yeah the more roms the better, I'm still a greenhorn myself but hopefully someone better comes along when CM10 is stable.

Paranoid Android for Note 3

So I saw that PA was (very) briefly available for Note 3 but they pulled support for it a month or two ago and I haven't seen anything on that front. Anybody know of an unofficial build incoming or other ROM's which incorporate some PA features? I know a lot of the ROM's here have older PA stuff baked in like Halo but I'm asking mainly about Hover (the successor). I can't believe the Note 3 still doesn't have support from the PA team after all this time.
I don't want this to come off as I'm demanding or asking for an ETA, I just want to know what's my alternative if I want to have something like the latest PA and not the older stuff that's currently out.
There is nothing for us sadly, there is no maintainer for the note 3. I read on their site that they develop for the nexus only and allow maintainers to port. We are the red headed stepchild.

It's surprising given the popularity of the Note 3 that there's no maintainer.
i think it is because the cayanogenMod Rom is not stable yet for the Note 3 as it is buggy

i have tried all those rom and they are awesome but still the quality of the sounds nfc are still not working correctly
from what I have read, for some reason PA does not compile for our phones.

Yea I've been on Pacman for a while and I love the idea of it I just don't like that it's still using dated CM and PA features. I want something with Hover and not Halo. But I'm starting to realize that's not here right now.
Sent from my SM-N900T using XDA Free mobile app
You are correct, they aren't. From what I've read they aren't exactly fit for prime time yet either?
Speaking personally, I don't use either feature, multi window and s pen are a joke to me, and halo is annoying lol. PA feature can be obtained using xposed + app settings.
That being said the beauty of android is flexibility.

LiquidSmooth for Sprint Note 4

There is already a tmobile version and US Cellular version of liquid smooth posted on their downloading page:
http://www.drdevs.com/devs/teamliquid/Nightly/
Does anyone know how to port or build this for the Sprint note 4?
Now that our version of CyanogenMod is making progress it seems fitting for some feature rich roms to come on the scene.
Thank you!

You have to see if the dev will ok the port first. Then you can get the rom ported over.
That shouldn't be a problem. They are very amenable to porting and building roms for new devices.
