[Q] What about JellyBean

Will JellyBean ever be available to Gio? What is your opinion? Do you think it is possible? And what will CM name it?

Yeah, I saw it already...
1. sources will be aviable in 1,5 week ...
2. jellybean runs with some more kernel execute and with the most libs from ics 4.0.4 (cm9) so it will work on gio
3. only a few libs must be rebuilded from source like audio libs, wifi binaries and the buttter libs ....
4. cm10/cm9
explaination: jb are not much modifications.
only butter project and some improvements from google and thats why i think that it falls under cm9
thats all in all for jb

What is 'Jellybro'?

Is this just a nickname for Jellybean?
No, it's the name of a build. Essentially CM10 with a few cherry picked / added features.

Yes, though I believe for the Nexus S, not the S3.

Excuse the noobish question, but does kernel + platform mean that everything needed to compile a functional android system for the device is present or does it mean everything sans precious drivers.

Gotchya. Thanks for the quick response.
I guess the core of my question is if this is useful for building newer versions of Android as they come out (IE 4.2). If not, what else do i need? Where do i find it? Where does this fit into the puzzle

Thirsty for a Google Edition S 3.

Am I the only one that's thirsty for a Google Edition S 3?
Anybody think it would be actually possible to port a 4.2.2 (Google Edition S 4) ROM to our S3?
There both based on 4.2.2, just a thought! I flashed the Google Edition S 4 ROM and it said optimizing xx/88 apps so some things have to be compatible with our ROM!

So has anyone got 4.3 running on our device?

It's not possible because the TW Kernel source is not available. Therefore, the devs cannot create a working kernel to support 4.2.2 TW on our phone (or 4.3 for that matter).
Isn't the "Google Edition" just a complied AOSP build for said device? You could just built it for the d2tmo from the sources.
EDIT: I was thinking of the Nexus series devices, I believe that they are straight AOSP.

Nope, Google Edition still has Touchwiz in it.
Google Edition isn't pure AOSP.

Do research before you actually think it's a bad idea.
It's Touchwiz with Touchwiz removed, only a small piece of TW is in it, rest is AOSP.

[Q] OS Availability for toro (Verizon Galaxy Nexus)

So I know Replicant is not available for this phone since it is CDMA. Are there any other OS alternatives for the toro other than Android?
I'm wondering if there is an obscure OS that I haven't heard about yet. Full functionality is not required, just looking for something to play, with a least marginal support.

I don't think they officially support the verizon galaxy nexus.. There are pages that show you how to modify the other variants to get it to work though.
