Root with CWM installed - Verizon Droid Incredible 2

How do I root a Droid Incredible 2 with ClockworkMod (CWM) recovery installed? Is there a guide for this?
Thanks

Flash a rooted ROM (most are), or find an su zip.

This is like Best ROM or kernel threads. There is no BEST. Just try them both and see which one you like it. However, I did do a TWRP and CWM comparison thread. If you're interested, PM me.

No.
Easiest method is to use Goo Manager, as stated.
Or you can find the .img and fastboot flash it.

Want to root my friends Sprint s2

But I am quite confused about the methods used here. There is a lot of chat about firmware that my friend doesn't seem to have. All I know he has ics. I.have rooted my HTC sensation, Samsung galaxy s3 and a nexus 7 with no issue. But this stuff makes no sense. Am I even in the right forum?

That seems like too much work. Don't y'all have a stock rooted Odin .tar.md5? And the process for installing recovery seems dated. Once rooted you should be able to install twrp or cwm through room manager or goo manager. Or am I wrong?

download the rom and gapps to your phone's internal sd card.
2) go to download mode and ODIN this to your phone:

Sorry for the confusion
I mean no flash is required and can run the cwm.zip directly from the stock recovery.

Can't flash anything with stock recovery. But goo manager or rom manager both make it easy to install recoveries

Flashing to mimicry? "gapps"?

I'm running CM7 right now and hoping to get my wifi calling back. I've read the mimicry posts. It doesn't really explain what "gapps" is but says you need it.
I have 4ext I've downloaded both gapps and mimicry files.
Do I flash gapps like a rom using "install from SD" on 4ext then flash mimicry the same way? or vise versa?
Full wipe then ROM then gapps then reboot
