[Resolved] GSM/CDMA Converting? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi guys, i've aquestion. if i made a GSM Maguro 4.1.1 jelly bean rom from factory image JRO03C without radio inside, can it be flashed by Toro users? thanks :fingers-crossed:

I think GSM and CDMA uses different hardware binaries, so no.

What's new in the VZW 4.0.4 IMM76K update?

Does anyone have a list of changes? Or even an unofficial list? So far there have been four 4.0.4 updates and it's getting a little confusing. Ignoring the first VZW leak (IMM30) there have been IMM76B, the first official 4.0.4, then IMM76I released only to GSM owners. I remember reading that the AOKP team said this was strictly a kernel update. Leankernel and faux kernel both integrated these changes.
Now there's the Verizon update that comes with a brand new build number, IMM76K. So now that everyone who wants to have had a chance to flash it, I ask you. What's different? Is the kernel version different? Any bug fixes? Or did they just feel like updating the build number for the hell of it because it's Verizon? lol
Right now I'm running AOKP Milestone 5 with leankernel 3.4.0 so I should have everything from IMM76I (if there's anything in there that even makes a difference for us LTE users). Is there anything in IMM76K that would be worth loosing all the AOKP stuff?

you're already on 4.0.4, VZW 4.0.4 is just the same GSM 4.0.4 its just been approved for the VZW network.
the important thing you need to get out of it is to flash its radios and bootloader [optional]
but at least the radios.
Oh yea forgot to mention the radios. I already flashed those on top of AOKP. I was previously running the radios from the last 4.0.4 leak and the bootloader is the same (PRIMELA03). I first flashed the factory 4.0.2 radios and bootloader just to be safe. Then I flashed the new radio and bootloader zip in clockwork mod.
I was asking if there's any changes in the actual ROM, aside from the radios and bootloader.

That's a ROM project page, so there won't be any RADIO's there...
If I were you, I'd try the corresponding GNex development subforum and their RADIO stickies, like this one.
But if you're on XXLA02, keep in mind that it's the latest official GNex radio image
and do a search, don't aggravate mods

XXKK6
- Standard European baseband
- Originally from the yakju ICL53F factory image and the OTA update (ICL53F from ITL41F)
ICL53F is for CDMA/LTE, but I am using GSM version !!!!!!! where can I get the XXKK6 for GSM version
There's a bug in the AOKP M5 kernel which causes data drops. Flash Franco M3 for a temporary fix.
android baseband file don't have CDMA and GSM version ! so doesn't matter which phone are you install with ?

[Q] WTF? confused about buildnumber?

so i just got my gnex yesterday and i would like to root unlock and flash cwm and so on... i bought it from finland sim free on regular store. but now toolkit v7.2 says choose build i have android 4.0.4 IMM76K? cant find it on on regular gsm list (wich i think this is the gsm model) but on verizon lte list there is 4.0.4 IMM76k? how shouldi root my phone flash cm etc
Don't use a toolkit. Do it manually in fast boot.
Imm76k is a non-yakju/takju build.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I live in Finland so i bought galaxy nexus from Finland!
In Finland Galaxy Nexus is GSM "YAKJUXW" 4.0.1 with XXKK1 baseband and it updates it to 4.0.2 baseband radio is then XXKK6 and then to 4.0.4 IMM76I or what it was (ofc. still yakjuxw build but only newer)..
also I don't use toolkit to unlock bootloader or to root my Galaxy Nexus, I use fastboot which is better to understand sometimes.....
Edit: 4.0.4 IMM76K is for Yakjuxw, not IMM76I..

There was no IMM76I update for yakjuxw. It was IMM76K, like almost all of the other non-yakju/non-takju builds.

Upgrade GN YAKYUWX 4.0.4 IMM76K to JB

Hi mates,
A friend of mine just acquired the GN mentioned above and haven't received the JB upgrade; he asked me to flash it to official JB, yet I haven't see any post with a especific method for that device, should I flash it with 4.0.4 yakyu and force the JB OTA?
Thanks in advance.
thats what i would do.
If you want the Jelly Bean then flash "takju" or "yakju" Jelly Bean stock ROM. (Not factory image), then flash XXLF1 radio baseband if you want and then LC03 bootloader and you have Jelly Bean, or if you want then flash yakju, takju factory image via Odin/fastboot and update itto JRO03C Jelly Bean via the OTA update...
it takes too much time to get Jelly Bean to Yakjuxw, I have Galaxy Nexus which had Yakjuxw as the original build (4.0.1 - 4.0.2) and I flashed takju Jelly Bean 4.1 and then I flashed other bootloader and radio via fastboot and now it's much better.. for my Nexus the yakju 4.0.4 drains too much the battery so that's why I use takju's Jelly Bean ROM..

Yes that's the right way to do it. Go to yakju and wait for the OTA or manually flash it if you're anxious.

[Q] best baseband for WIND galaxy nexus jelly bean

Hi
Upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 using Wugfresh's excellent Toolkit.
Stock baseband that came with the Wind GNex was Android 4.1.1 running UGLH1. After upgrading to 4.1.2 Stock Yakju build, the baseband changes to XXFL1 - which i assume is the same version as ICS.
So far seems reception is fine. Mostly in Toronto North York area I receive 3 bars signal and switching frequently between 3g/HSPA+.
Wondering from fellow Canadian WIND / AWS users if they have experienced any issues using XXFL1 radio baseband on Jelly bean 4.1 or what the best radio to flash is ?
cheers
Mike
