[Q] best baseband for WIND galaxy nexus jelly bean - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi
Upgraded to Jelly Bean 4.1.2 using Wugfresh's excellent Toolkit.
Stock baseband that came with the Wind GNex was Android 4.1.1 running UGLH1. After upgrading to 4.1.2 Stock Yakju build, the baseband changes to XXFL1 - which i assume is the same version as ICS.
So far seems reception is fine. Mostly in Toronto North York area I receive 3 bars signal and switching frequently between 3g/HSPA+.
Wondering from fellow Canadian WIND / AWS users if they have experienced any issues using XXFL1 radio baseband on Jelly bean 4.1 or what the best radio to flash is ?
cheers
Mike

Why? We all use the same radios and the same unlock commands and everything..

That's true but sometimes there are specific carrier/region questions and instead of starting a new thread and adding to clutter, it can be asked here instead.
Does anyone want to post what their usual modem speeds are like for their location, their carrier, their current radio, and current ROM? That might be interesting to read and get an idea of what people are getting and where!

If anything there seem to be a lot of defects from regions and as a buyer, I want to know where to buy my nexus. Currently as of January 1 I can buy from wireless etc. A virgin or bell with no contract. Then play and return if defective to get another... keep this forum alive!

4.0.4 Radio Goes Offline

Hello,
I just decided to flash Cyanogenmod 9 to my phone to get 4.0.4 and noticed that the signal indicator was hollow and had an x in it after waking up. I then abandoned Cyanogenmod 9 and flashed the 4.0.4 stock image to my phone. Now I can't seem to keep the device connected via mobile voice and data and all I seem to be able to do is reboot the device. I am kind of new to the GSM scheme, but the APN list is empty and I can't seem to scan for mobile networks. To me it seems like the radio is completely disabled. Here are the specs, if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. I am going to try to restore my backup of my previous rom. Alternatively if anyone has the stock radio image for the yakjuxw, I could also just try to restore that. Thank you for reading my post ^_^.

grab the radio of ICL53F from http://code.google.com/intl/en-EN/android/nexus/images.html
that is the same one you had on yakjuxw.
4.0.2
Thank you. About an hour after my post I tried flashing the yakku stock firmware. I appear not to be having the issue on 4.0.2! I have a sneaking suspicion that the problem is the kernel. I base my hypothesis on the fact that 4.0.2 yakju works fine and Cyanogenmod 9 had similar issues with the same baseband. I'm going to try flashing the newer baseband and staying with 4.0.2 to see if it recurs. Thank you again for confirming the yakjuxw used the same baseband as the yakju! This is all new to me and I appreciate the advice.

I'm afraid of you won't learn anything from this. The 4.0.2 ROM(!) is sticked to GSM/CDMA, but 4.0.4 is sticked to WCDMA preferred...
Hello,
I think the problem comes from Android 4.0.4 itself. I have the same problem with a stock 4.0.4 flashed from the factory image provided by Google.
Other people have the same issue and are talking about it here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24304822
Same problem here. After update to 4.0.4 I always lost the cellular signal when screen has gone down. I tried with different radios (xxkk6, xxkl1) but it didn't help. Anytime I move back to 4.0.2, problem disappears.
Originally my Gnex was yakjuxw.
My GN was yakju
Strange.. I suspected until now it is related to the difference of yakju and its variants...

I've checked and my phone is a Yakju, I tweeted a pic when I got it : https://twitter.com/#!/mephissto/media/slideshow?url=http://yfrog.com/kicn0p

[Q] Sprint Galaxy Nexus latest/best radios

Hello everyone and happy holidays!
I have a Sprint Galaxy Nexus and I was wondering what is the newest radio and which one is the best radio. I did something to my phone running a ROM and had to flash the factory image 4.1.1 from the GNex TOOLKIT V10.1 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614827.
When I look at the settings and radio, I have the baseband version L700.05 V.FC12 / L700.FC.12 and the build number is JRO03U.L700FH05.
My service appears to be fine and working, but I was just curious if I was running the latest radio and which one is the best? I am in Phoenix, AZ so I do not have 4G.
Any help or thoughts on the matter are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Then I flashed [ROM][JB][4.1.1][VLDLK4] Stock SGS3 TouchWiz ROM / Rooted / Debloated (12/06/2012) I got LTE back. these too roms got huge different speed test result on same servers. Would some one tell me why?

on AOKP and CM10 roms usualy 4G is LTE i found, but when i have flashed roms in past i have had HSPA and 3G so i too would like to know if there is a modem we can flash etc..
also on rogers 1747m thanks
Make sure your APN is correct. Also, it uses Rogers #1 by default instead of Rogers LTE. So that's another thing to look into.
If both those things still don't fix it, you might have to test different modems.

Low 4G signal after rooting/flashing CM4.1.2 then to 4.1.3...

Hi all,
I rooted my Rogers S3 then installed with CM4.1.2 last week then updated to 4.1.3. I've noticed since I updated to 4.1.3 that my 4G signal maxes out at 2 bars. So am wondering if the ATT rom that is used has a different baseband file then Rogers? And if so, is it possible to install a Rogers baseband back onto the phone some how?
Thanks...
Pretty sure there is no android 4.1.3 version. And there is a thread with flashable modems u can try...
