I tried to update my my radio to the latest radio 2.15.00.12.19hat included the PRI & wimax updates from the MikMik site, followed directions very precisly. Now after I updated, my signal has become very low, where i normally get 4g, i now have just 1x.... I tried to update profile firmware & prl from setting, even flashed 4 different roms, 2 sense roms, 2 ASOP roms... NO CHANGE! Still stuck with the 1x signal. Now i tried to revert back to 2.15.00.0808, no change also. Where did I go wrong?
Now in the HBOOT screen this is what i see

Yes. I don't have an outage or anything in my area.
Download WiMax Key Checker from the Play Store and verify your WiMax RSA keys are still present. Then troubleshoot from there.

Did you update your profile and PRL after flashing each radio? Did you try downgrading to a different radio?

According to the WiMax Key Checker, that's the issue. I'm missing my RSA keys. Now i keep trying to find a way to restore them, but once again, after hrs of searching, i'm not having any luck getting a solution. Would you happen to know what I can do to fix this problem? Only thing i keep finding is, flash stock rom & go to Sprint.....

Yes. I also downgraded back to my previous radio, still get a 1x signal.
Without rsa keys your wimax is hosed, if you have a nandroid with the wimax partition included you can restore the keys with it. If not you're pretty much outta luck unless you take it to sprint who will probably refer u to asurion or give you a refurbished or comparable device if they don't have any refurbed evos available

UHHHG! I dreaded this answer..... Ok say i saw a manual that explained how to manually restore the key using a long series of directions....... I do own a back up Evo the screen cracked & bled, but basically works just fine, & i just paid for a refurbished one, do u suppose i can use the Wimax information from my old one, or am i just pretty much screwed? I'm trying to avoid sprint by all means.

The rsa keys only affect wimax not 3g, if u have a 2nd evo you could probably use its keys but I don't know the steps to get them in there

After having looked at the EVO threads for the last 3 days, I cannot figure out how to root my friends Evo. I have an Epic 4G and have previously worked upon the Incredible and HTC Hero. I have never had any issues rooting and or installing CWM or custom ROMs. I am beginning to think the Evo is a POS but I know that not to be true. Maybe I am just becoming frustrated with trying numerous methods including xHausx’s auto root method and having nothing work. Currently SetCPU is working with root rights but no other application that needs root rights including ROM manager will work. I can’t even install Clockwork Mod let alone find the correct thread so that I can install it. Next, there are no backups for this phone and my friend never backed up his RSA or Wimax keys. Basically, here is where the phones stands as of now… can anyone tell step by step of how to get back to stock 2.2 aka Froyo with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and 4G working?

Not sure what you've been reading, but I had no problems rooting following this guide
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=829045
It is more involved than any of the 'auto' methods, but you also learn a great deal along the way.
What have you tried and what issues have you run into?
At this point, it may be a good idea to run RUU to bring it back to 100% stock before trying the method above.
what happened when you tried unrevoked or did you try that method?
From my understanding CWM sucks (sorry koush). Get Amon-Ra for recovery.
Can't think of a witty tag line. . . Swyped from my Warm Evo.
It's not that hard if you know what you're doing. The fact that it still has S-On means it's not rooted.
Before you root this phone update all the radios first. Go to Menu > Settings > System Updates and update the Profile, PRL, and HTC Software. From there read the following articles before you attempt to root again and possibly brick your friend's phone.

The Japanese EVO unfortunately came with HBOOT 2.15.0001 which, until very recently, was unrootable. The Japanese EVO is under KDDI AU here in Japan, rather than Sprint USA. Other than that, I don't think there's really much difference.

Did you have any problems with the WiMax radio once you flashed the CM7 rom onto your phone? It did to mine
Does anyone else have any problems rooting with CDMA phones in Japan?
Yeah. Lost my.Wimax. looking to find a way to get back to AU stock.
There was a stock RUU for the Japanese Evo posted by xhausx on this forum I think. Some people got it to revert back to stock but others didn't.
With mine I had an old image of my rooted stock which I flashed and returned to AU and was able to get it replaced.
I couldn't seem to flash my wimax keys, but having looked around if you're using CWM to flash it won't do radios. Supposedly gotta use amon recovery.
Did you check if you had wimax prior to flashing a ROM?
If any is there could you answer me this if possible.
There seems to be WiMAX connectivity issues when flashing a custom ROM. Were there any problems prior to flashing ie. after turning s-off and rooting the phone? I'd like to try overclocking my phone, but I don't wanna lose my WiMAX access. Any advice would be great. Cheers.

B4 u flash anything, just make a backup of your wimax partition, NOT just the keys. Then if anything gets borked, you will be safe. Once the keys are gone, they are not recoverable except if you have a backup partition. Just Google search backing up the ENTIRE partition.

I rooted once before and backed up the WiMAX partition like you say. However I couldn't get a connection which seemed to be a common issue with those rooting the Japanese version of the evo, as most roms use sprints' base whereas here we have au which uses a different software version and whatnot. Did you manage to flash without any problems to your WiMAX here in Japan?

Now I'm on software 2.26.970.1, before that I updated up to 2.19.xxx through the OTAs. Then rooted following SharpIS03s guide. I haven't flashed any radios , wimax, nv since then as the last time I did I lost connections

Yes, radios are independent of the rom. You can also use evo 4g radios on the inc. You can get all radios here http://dinc.does-it.net/Radios/.
Hmmm....these don't have MD5s though...any experience with them?

Now is there a fix for this signal issue? Maybe an update for this device that I am missing. I just need it to get by until the end of the year! I just don't have $100 to fix this problem. Please help! I am stuck. I just need the signal to be fixed any maybe the app place to be updated.

.622 is a really old radio. Maybe try to flash a later one and see if that helps? Technically, if you flash the same radio you had before rooting, signal should be the same. With that said, some Roms (particularly Sense 4) display signal bars incorrectly. Best way to check signal would be to check the dbm value in About Phone.

I'd recommend the 0312 radio near the bottom of the post. DO NOT FLASH A CHINESE ONE!
Read the OP and you should be good to go.
