[Q] tmobile touch pro 2

My friend has tmobile touch pro 2 and wants to know if all the things in forums that apply to at&t TP2 also apply to the tmobile version...
Some things are carrier specific, some aren't. Without you telling us specifically what you are referring to, its hard to say whether there is a difference or not.

Theres actually alot that im trying to do. 1st want to be able to run android & possibly dual boot on the tmobile TP2.
I also want to use different skins and plugings like the stuff seen in the forums here & here

well. for android...
download the .cab from here.
install the .cab onto your storage card.
run android. will shut down winmo and boot up android.
and dont forget to thank the android devs, here.
for winmo...
assuming you updated the tilt2 with at&t's official winmo 6.5 rom...
Settings --> Today --> Items tab --> uncheck Sense --> check Windows Default ---> OK --> Soft Reset
that disables Sense 2.5 and enables Titanium.
now.
just install your preferred Titanium theme.
and enjoy.

Thanks 4 the tips I'll try it when I get the chance
It's a tmobile TP2 so I used tmobiles official update rom. So there should be a difference, right?

Oh yea I have another question. Is this a fully functional version of android. What are the flaws if any?

Did you bother to read at all? The second link that sh4d0w86 provided has what's not working in the very first post under a heading that very clearly says, "NOT WORKING IN THIS BUILD:."
Yea actually I did end up reading it right after I asked the question. I was just being lazy. Thanks for the help though

You'll need the Wifi Router App and a tethering plan. If a carrier determines you to be tethering without it being on your contract, they have the right to surcharge you for it. Most custom ROMs have this app built in.
Ok thanks, Does anyone have any suggestions on some of the best or most stable roms out there?

Do a search. There are hundreds of threads of new users asking which ROM they should use. That's like asking which pants you should wear. It's all about personal preference. Just keep flashing until one of them sticks. I've been doing this for a very long time now, and I still can't stick to just one chef.

Talked to HTC about downgrading

Hello everyone, I had emailed HTC yesterday about downgrading my Desire back to 2.2. and this is what they said...
I understand you installed the Gingerbread build on our developer portal and would like to flash back to 2.2 Froyo. I understand how important it is for your phone to function properly and I will be happy to assist. The Gingerbread build that was posted was not intended for North American users unless they only needed the device to test applications they were writing. We do not have a method for an end user to flash back to 2.2 at home, however if you can reply with the device serial number located on the back of the phone after you remove the back cover and the battery and the name of your cellular provider I can find out if you are able to send the phone into HTC to be re-flashed.
So in other words unless we find a way to unlock the bootloader we have to send it in to HTC which kinda sucks.
Let me know what you think!
There are people in other threads that have been given the answer fron htc support that the upcoming boot loader unlocker will unlock ALL htc phones.

ok, sure we agree that htc relesed gb as dev, and sure a lot of us thougt someone will crack the hboot soon. But crap this is a bad build...
The call function is often "hanging" a while after finising a call, after installing some of my regular apps, gb is terrible slow, the sence clock sometimes stops in time, and i could go on...
I have not read all of the posts here since the dev release of gb, but i for one is "not realy happy" with the dev gb, and would sure as hell give good money for going back to what i had before "upgrading" to gb.
Ok, I got that of my chest... someone says htc dealers can downgrade to froyo. Does anyone know of someone that can do that in Bergen, Norway?
Well, luckily for me, I do not experience any of the issues described here. From my point of view the GB update was a success.

Have you tried this: Move apps to SD - Unrooted Froyo Guide. Noobs Guide (from the Desire Q&A forum) ? It worked for me when I was on Stock 2.2, so it might help you too. I can't try it now, as I am already rooted and using a custom rom.

[q] just wondering if possible to port .sense to mt3gs

HELLO EVERY BODY I was just wondering if it is possible to do a port of benjamingwynn's super awsome .sense rom to the mytouch 3g slide?
It's just a really great rom that might just bring the mt3gs back for one last time.
Just don't want to give up on this phone, I love it to much.
well, i might, but, im more focused on getting WiFi to work in ANY sense 3.5 rom
Well that is important and I thank you for working on it! I
I just wanted to know so I can give porting a rom a try. Want to contribute something instead of just using.
Oh by the love your roms

well, start by setting up either a linux partition, or install cygwin (you need the custom one in the dsixda kitchen thread) and setting up your kitchen, but for the most par, just make sure you are trying to port a non-sense rom with a sense base, or vise-versa
Also, always replace /system/usr and /system/bin/akmd
but you will figure out what else on your own

Dont know if this will help or not. You may or may not be aware of it. I checked out the thread a little, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1445517 and development has been suspended. Apparently there were some problems with wifi and cell service on the latest version 3.0 from the little bit I read there. I did notice a few people saying that v2.0.1 was working pretty good for them though.
It also appears that they had it working for the Legend in v2.0.1 so that could be the easiest port if you do decide to tackle it. (The Legend is nearly identical to our Espresso if I am remembering correctly)
v3.0 was available for the Wildfire and the Salsa, and since we have a working port of Salsa, that may help as well (for either the 3.0 or 2.0.1).
Sorry I can't be much more help than this right now. Hopefully this can help give you some ideas.
Note: the download links do not work at all, but i did find them all here.

One more question what are the minimum requirements for a PC, I have 4 gigs of ram two hard drives one with 250 gb the other with 1 tb and a pentium core duo processor I think. (Not sure on the processor, been a while since I looked)

I would say that should be plenty. I have not yet attempted compiling or porting myself but i use a much weaker machine for a lot of my android stuff and it has been pretty good for the mods and such ive been working on. Search google or xda for android development min requirements and you should find some info on recommended specs for what u want to do.

one more thing I tried to plug my mt3gs to my pc but neither my wife's laptop or my desktop wont recognize my phone neither htc sync or as a mass storage device, as I am going to start my little project on saturday. So just want to know if there is a solution for this? Can someone please help me your help is very very appreciated.
Have u tried a different cable? Does the phone start charging when u plug it into the PC? if u just want to transfer files u can try an app like SwiFTP from the market. I believe there are also ways to run adb over wifi, but ive never looked into it so not totally sure bout that. Did u check to make sure in settings that its not set to Charge Only?

This all started to happen with the original cord that came with the phone but I will try different cords just too see if I can get it to work. And if not I will look in to that adb through wifi thing, but most likely if a different cord works I will still research that whole process. I thank you for your help and advice.

[Q] Will the Cyanogen Mod V10 work with my Cricket Wireless HTC One V

I just got an HTC one v from Cricket Wireless and through a bit of patience (which i need badly ) Was able to root it with an AIO kit (Props to the dev of that kit.)
I Recently read that this phone won't be getting Android 4.1 or 4.2 .
I'm wondering (and this is why I posted in general. What roms would be awesome for this little phone and well...I've been all over the net and I'm curious as to "What's cool?"
Would Cyanogen Mod work with this phone?
Would I lose any services (Talk, Text, Data)
I'm aware of the possibility but what are the steps I can take to prevent it/recover from one (if it happens)
I do believe I have the original RUU from another website. and the android SDK on this computer.
I will probably have millions more questions and I am going through the forums, but, I'm interested in hearing what's up. I'm also new here.
Welcome! If I'm not mistaken Cricket Wireless is no sir right{CDMA}? You might want to check out the HTC Cmda thread. However most of the CDMA roms are for Virgin Mobile.

Thanks for the welcome
I believe this phone is PRIMO C according to what I've read. Yes, CDMA
Android Ver: 4.0.3
I recently did a TWRP backup (2 hrs ago) with Ver 2.3.3.0
I'm also reading about Slim Bean.
I would like to have the latest os on this phone, eliminate a good percentage of the crap this phone came with (from Cricket) and have a good time. Yes I know it won't run games very well...but the rest is fantastic.
OK Great! Unfortunately some of the roms like Slim Bean have a bug that Forces a reboot randomly. Usually when unlocking your screen. Another problem is that these roms are usually made for Virgin Mobile and that you'll have to modify them for your network. There is a thread that shows this I believe. I would suggest Rhythmic Rom. It's based on CM10 and doesn't have the reboot bug.
Sent from my One V using xda premium
I think I saw a thread on how to modify a rom to match a service provider. Like a text file or something like that. (Best comparison I can make is modifying the morrowind.ini (for the PC Game Morrowind) file to use a specific sound) So I shouldn't have a problem there. (Just found that thread think it's this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2120559&highlight=cricket)
Rhythmic Rom...I did read a thread about that last night. I think the guy's in the process of trying to solve a bug with the phone's 5mp camera not working and video recording crashes. It looks like a good rom. I might want to try to test this rom out on an emulator (if possible)
If I remember CM10 is based off of Jelly Bean, an OS I'd love to have on this phone.
While I'm at it. I'd like to say thanks for your help so far, and thanks to anybody else who jumps into this thread. This is the first time in a while that I feel like a proper n00b at something.

msm-8930

Hey guys, I know this isn't exactly the perfect place to post this, but I have a HTC One SV, it just so happens that the One SV and the One VX are both based on the msm8930 chipset and have approximately same specifications and the like, I'm looking for some assistance with getting a working build of cyanogenmod/ a basic device tree for this chipset as there are currently none available to use as a base for further development. If anyone else has been working on this or wants to help work on this send me a message or post down below, I haven't put anything up on github or anywhere yet because my working directory is an absolute mess but I can if desired.
This is definately something the HTC One VX users want. There is *is* a working CM10 build done by JMZTaylor. However it doesn't have worming audio nor sensors, camera etc and obviously suffers from random reboots.
I've myself taken a stab at getting the in call audio working and its driven me pretty mad. JMZtaylor is also suffering from the same affliction. He's still currently working on it.
But as of right now, he's really the only one with the best knowledge of what *not* to do regarding CM10 on this phone.
Remember Thomas Edison learned 100 ways not to make a light bulb before he learned how.
