Hi guys, I tried searching through the forums to find the answer and didn't get far... I am currently running Calk's ROM v 2.6 with Rogue recovery and EL13 modem and I feel like my battery dies way faster than most other ROMS. I noticed that Rogue recovery will let you wipe battery stats, and was wondering if I can some how try to re-calibrate my battery or if there is anything that I can do to improve the battery life on this ROM. I noticed that there are some zips that I can flash on the same thread of where I got the ROM, will that work with v 2.6? Sorry I'm some what of a noob, all I know is how to flash ROMS and bring my phone back to stock. Thank you guys in advanced!

I'm using the full version of the ROM btw. I believe I'm on EL13 kernel as well...

Hello, ive asked the same question lol so Ill pass my knowlege along. From what ive learned, if youre using rouge recovery there should be an option that says wipe battery stats under wipe, but you shouldnt do that first. In order to do a full battery callibration, you need first charge your phone to as close to 100% as possible, which means you need to charge it fully while its on, turn it off and charge until it says fully charged then turn it on and charge it again.. This process shouldnt take over ten minutes after it charges the first time. im not sure why you do this but I think its too ensure it fully charges. Once you do that.. Go into recovery mode and go to wipe/wipe battery stats, reboot and make sure to leave it off the charger until it dies completely, use as normal, then charge fully without interruption. Then youre done.. Hope this helped brah

There is a battery calibration app in the market as well. Plus you need at least two full discharge cycles with a new rom/kernel to really start gauging anything...
Thank you, thank you! I'm going to give it a try... I will post again with my findings.... Oh, btw I flashed the 100mv undervolt zip that Calk posted as well and it seems to drain a little slower...

So my battery life is just not good, I'm wondering if there is something I'm doing wrong or not doing.... but even when the phone is off it loses battery life really quick.
Is there maybe something I'm missing or need to do?

Happens to me too...I tried calibrator apps and still no luck i actually left cm9 last night and to rujelus22 it was good but ended up running into problems but maybe you should try flashing a different rom or charge your phone fully then reflash cm9 let the battery drain all the way then charge it again fully...

Yeah I wasn't sure if there is some setting I can change, might just end up getting the bigger battery like I did my Evo and call it a day! Other then that I love my cm9
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA
Hey, I would try to flash an updated kernel for the cm9 alpha 3. Alpha3 comes with FD10 and I found that it made the Android OS drain my battery faster than it should. With FD26 the Android OS drain on my battery has been much lower. However, from what I hear which kernel works best varies on the phone, so I would try a couple others.
its been 3 days since i rooted my phone for the first time due to battery life issues. the first day my phone lasted for 10 hours. after a full discharge and full charge I've been experiencing horrible battery life again on medium usage. only getting 6 hours of battery life. what do you guys think would be the cause of this??? everybody is getting better battery life and mine seems to be horrible still. I don't have any out of the ordinary apps running either. do you think i need a new battery?

I have never found juggs to be a battery friendly ROM. It's a power ROM. Better for gaming, shooting live video etc. If you want the 15 to 20 hour battery some are getting then switch over to darksides ROM DIGITALWARFARE. It's powerful enough for gaming just not like juggs.
Also usage plays a roll to. If your gaming for 4 stright hours don't expect the phone to last that long because no phone will. Running Juggs with darksides kernal is kinda doesn't mix.

Download 2x battery from the market, it's done wonders for my phone and i use it with any rom i flash. Not to mention i ran that same setup for quite awhile and the maximum time out of a battery i've gotten comes using juggs 5 and v1 darkside kernel.
I'm running Juggernaut 5.0, with Eugene's Streamline kernel. I'm getting about 17hs. I'm also OCD, so I play, and tweak every setting possible. I game a lot, and usually get about 6-8 with that. It depends on a lot of factors though. I agree though, it's kind of an oxymoron to use Darkside kernel with that rom. They kind of clash.....I guess you could say, as far as battery goes anyways. I had the same issue when I used that kernel. Just my experience anyways. There's a lot of setups you could go with, so. Best to just test everything once, till you find your happy place.

i just switched over to synergy kernel for my jugg. been off the charger for about an hour and I've lost 10%. so im on pace to have about 4 hours more than i had with darkside. do you suggest streamline or will he results be similar to what im getting already ?

hey mike what were your results with new kernal ?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
unfourtunately im seeing no results. i got about 6-7 hours still on decent amount of usage. i even went ahead and purchased the extended battery from nexus and im still seeing no improvements! im pretty sure its not a rogue app because i barely use any apps. im even using apps like 2x battery to try to get more juice. anyways i just wiped and installed digital warfare last night. just unplugged my phone at 100% lets see how this goes. ill report back.

what are you using? are you experiencing poor battery life as well?

Your battery life also depends on a number of other factors as well. Do you have animations on or off? If they are on, turn them off. What brightness is your screen? I turn mine all the way down. How many widgets are you running? I don't use widgets. Is your phone constantly syncing with Facebook, Twitter etc? I only turn my sync on for Gmail and Google. Is your GPS on? I have mine off at all times. Do you stream a lot of music/videos? How many programs do you have running in the background? I make sure everything is closed or off except for the programs that need to be on. If I need to use a program/app I will open it, I don't need it constantly running shortening my battery life. Etc Etc.
I also recommend using the app Juice Defender. Yes it runs in the background at all times, but, it greatly improves battery life. I use it all the time and it's fantastic.
I typically have my phone on for 15-17hrs a day and by the time I go to bed I still have over 50% battery left. I am currently just on a stock ROM and not Juggs, but my results with Juggs were around the same as well, even with the Darkside Kernel. Peace

+1 I don't use juice defender on my device since I am happy with the battery life I get so far. However, I have Juice Defender on my wife's SGS2 with custom settings and her battery life has improved a lot. Before her phone would only last 10-12 hours with moderate use. Now she gets over 20 hours with the same usage.
Use tdjs ROM

I'm using aokp now but I found this to be the best setup for battery for me.
I recommend you try this and see if you still have this issue.
Juggernaut + synergy + juice defender on aggressive mode = awesome battery life.. awesome enough for you to have multiple MiniBaths. :banghead:

I lost 10-15% an hour if im not on Wifi, this phone has terrible batt life when not on wifi. Could that be why?

Hey guys... I have a problem with my battery.. started about three days ago.. I haven't flashed or changed anything in my rom at the time... I was running blazer's ginger bread and I love it.. anyway.. the battery shows that it's charging even when it's not.. the notification light is on and the battery icon shows the little lighting bolt... the battery dies fast and nothing seems to help.. I reflashed blazer(wiped everything with calk's mod).. still like that.. wiped it again and went back to stock... still messed up.. I'm thinking maybe my battery is shot... what are your opinions...

Try odining back to EL29 so you have a clean slate then flash the blazer rom. That should fix your issues.

nothing on the Running apps .. any suggested apps to check whats going on in the background ?
dont think battery is already dead :S
i never believed in battery calibration until two days ago and I have been flashing roms since the G1 days. I have been running Xtremeperia and was getting 6-8 hours max on a extended galaxy nexus battery so I decided to try a battery calibratrion app for the hell of it. I could not kill my battery on the first drain, it went from 7 am to 10 at night with 40% left then I tried to use a drain app to kill it and recharge, after an hour it had only gone down 10%. I said screw it and started the recharge at 30% cause I was tired. Give it a try...
