So, I rooted my phone when I got a few weeks ago and didn't note my carriers original baseband version. I am going to flash the stock ROM back on because I wasn't a big fan of the current ROM I have been using. Searching the forums, I see stock ROMS from AT&T (samsung-updates.com) being either I747UCALG1 or I747UCALEM (both being Android 4.0.4). How do I know which one to flash? Does it even really matter so long as I flash one of those versions to the correct SGH-1747 model?
A quick note: The current baseband version being displayed on my phone is I747UCLEM and I can't even find anything out about that specific version.
Edit: Okay so after looking into the issue a bit further, I found that the baseband version just means the AT&T's version of their stock ROM. Anyone care to agree with me on that one so I can go ahead and just flash the most current (I747UCALG1) ROM?

Thank you very much for confirming this! Stock LG1 flashed.
And for anyone else who may come across this, Triangle Away is confirmed working with my AT&T SGH-I747.

To all who may have taken advantage of the $300 -$100 Visa or Gift Card for this phone: What Version and Baseband is your phone running?
My phone is running Android 4.0.4 & T989DTLLG2. I find no reference to this baseband on Koodo, Telus, Samsung or searching Google for that matter.
Who can confirm that this is the new valid version and baseband for Koodo?
FYI, I just spent an hour on the phone with "Tech Support" who only wanted to argue with me that this "information wasn't relevant or is available to her". Her customer service was atrocious which in fairness to Koodo was the first time I've encountered such bad service.
Koodo = Telus basically, TLLE4 is the ICS radio for telus so I would assume that TLLG2 would be koodo just different naming schemes, or it seems like as it's the same phone. Plus the telus radio is more than likely compatible with the koodo phone.
Correct Koodo is a Telus subsidiary but Telus' version is 4.0.3 and Koodo's is 4.0.4. This leads me to believe the radio could be an upgrade rather than just a rename.
Any one confirm or refute that Telus radio T989DTLLE4 = Koodo T989DTLLG2?

Nice, any chance to dump the ROM and radio for the rest of us who got 4.0.3 and LE4 from Telus?

Be happy to once I figure out how. Any pointers?
FYI, I'm coming from a Galaxy Ace and have flashed many roms via CWM. Not so familiar with ODIN which I believe would figure into the equation of your request.

To extract the radio, follow the steps here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506212
To get the system image, just do a nandroid backup in CWM and extract the system TAR file (not the other CACHE/DATA files which may contain your personal information).
Thanks a lot!

Did you dump the stock baseband/radio from your phone?
I loaded a different one to unlock my phone (which worked) but I want to use odin to flash back the latest one.
Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.
My phone is as follows:
Koodo Samsung Galaxy S II X
Model number SGH-T989D
Thanks in advance,
M.
Here is a link where you can download the stock TLLG2 Koodo Radio. And for the stock TLLE4 Telus radio you can download it from here.
You should be able to download a .zip file which you can flash through CWM/TWRP. A little searching through the threads goes a long way. Cheers!

Hi,
I currently have the At&t branded samsung galaxy s3 and it has no chinese language. How do I make this option available?
I already downloaded Odin and am ready to flash but I'm not sure which firmwares I can flash on it.
If I flash a International Unbranded firmware, would it brick the phone?
Please, this is urgent.
Thank you in advance.
Unfortunately I am not sure about how to get Chinese language support on your device other than flashing a new ROM such as CM10.1 or see if AOKP has the support.
What I can tell you is: Do NOT under any circumstance ever flash an international ROM to the i747. It will brick the phone.

You would be able to flash ROMs that are made for the AT&T/Rogers/Bell/Telus variant of Samsung Galaxy SIII.
Go to Settings -> About phone, and look at the Model number. It should display SGH-I747 (AT&T) or SGH-I747M (a Canadian variant). You might want to look on the label under the phone battery -- it should give you the same information. For these phone models, you will be able to flash ROMs that are advertised in this forum.
Make sure you don't flash ROMs made for another SGSIII variant (International I9300, T-Mobile T999, etc.), as it might just brick your phone. You have to flash a ROM that is made or ported to your exact phone model. For every ROM you find, read the first post of the thread: the ROM devs always say to which phone model their ROM is made for.
Sorry if this question has already been answered but I have been looking in the forums and couldn't find exactly what i want.
From what I have found, there is an international version and a carrier version of the note 2.
I got my phone from EE (uk mobile carrier) and have removed the simlock by getting the code from them and now using the phone on Three mobile (another uk mobile carrier). But the problem is that its settings are still there like their website bookmark cannot be deleted and I have their recommended apps in the google play store.
I am guessing that the firmware version is also tied to when ever EE releases it. So i was thinking if its possible to make my mobile switch to the international firmware release. Which seems to be the first to get the latest of Samsung updates.
Is such a thing possible, if so is it worth it? and can any one tell me how to do it.
thank you in advance.
Just flash a Stock ROM via Odin PC.

STOCK ROM FOR N7105 FOUND HERE
Thanks to Dr.Ketan.
Im new to this part of XDA, I just recently purchased a Galaxy S3 T999L.
Purchasing this phone, I had no idea there was a non LTE Model which leads me in a bit of confusion when looking for a custom Rom
Im no rookie when it comes to flashing. If you look Below in my sig you can see the devices I currently have and have flashed different roms many times in the past. My question is what ROMs will work with my T999L? Ive looked and to my confusion have seen more for the T999 than anything since its been around much longer.. I've been looking and the forum here is a bit fragmented and its hard to see which ROM will go to which device. Please forgive me for my ignorance, Im just trying to play catch up, and perhaps contribute in the future in some way.
Edit: Im more familiar with flashing Tablets than phones, I dont have much experience with flashing radios and other phone related stuff...Is there a Difference with T999 and T999L other than the Radio?
edit 2: No comments? I guess either i said the wrong thing, or I posted in the wrong forum..
Thank you in advance
The t-999 ROMs will work with your t-999l, except the 4.3 touchwiz ROMs for the moment. 4.3 aosp/cm/aokp is fine.. There's really not much difference between the two, except the t-999l was updated to support lte.. Do not flash a t-999 modem to your t-999l, it won't brick but it won't pick up service at all. I suggest looking at the t-999l and t-999n q&a thread for further info

I did just that.... And u didn't have to be rude about it..
Thanks for your input
Don't mean to hi-jack this thread but it kind of pertains the the question. I have the T999L as well. I've read Doc's informational thread about the T999L and T999N.
In terms of this part:
"ONLY flash T999L firmware to a T999L and T999N firmware to a T999N!!!!
If it does not match your model EXACTLY, it will almost certainly brick your device!!!"
I keep reading I can safely flash T999 roms, kernels, etc. But it's the firmware process that confuses me. Should I only stick to 4.1.2 roms (can I even flash Jamison's 4.1.1 rom for example), or can I flash a 4.3 TW rom in the future, assuming the leaked builds get LTE support when the official update comes out?
Thanks in advance.

If that's true then how come the T999L wasn't updated to 4.3 alongside the T999? The 4.1.2 software wasn't even the same. No multi-window, no Note 2 photo gallery, still rockin the old "My Files" app on the T999L 4.1.2 software.....At first I thought it was just the "LTE Radio" difference but I guess there's more to it seeing the differences in software.

Firmware refers to the files used in Odin, so for those, make sure you use the ones for your device only. You can flash any ROM, even 4.1.1 I believe.. And yes once there's a leaked 4.3 firmware for the t999l you should be able to just flash the modem and then flash a 4.3 tw ROM, based on what we experienced with the t999

Thanks a lot for this. Been bugging me for a while now. I'll probably take the plunge soon and use "The Recovery Way." Rooted my first S3 using motochopper back in June or July when I first got it, but problems arose and exchanged it at Costco (just got it and WiFi wouldn't connect after a factory reset). Been scared since lol. Also scared me that I wouldn't receive official updates anymore as it said it was modified, but that doesn't bug me anymore reading all the complaints about the whole no turning back.
Thanks again!
I'm looking into flashing a custom ROM onto my T999L for the first time as well...have any of you guys taken the plunge yet, and have any feedback on specific ROMS? I think I will try with AOKP
I switched over to Tmobile when this phone first came out and I haven't had a GSM phone in quite some time. I looked around and I am unable to find a thread for Tmobile modems for this device. My current baseband version is N900TUVUBMI7. Is there an updated modem that I need to flash?
There hasn't been a firmware update yet for the n900t. Mi7 is the original fw the Tmo Note 3 launched with. So there aren't any modems right now.
