[Q] I have had my phone rooted since it came out. Do I need to flash a new modem? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

I switched over to Tmobile when this phone first came out and I haven't had a GSM phone in quite some time. I looked around and I am unable to find a thread for Tmobile modems for this device. My current baseband version is N900TUVUBMI7. Is there an updated modem that I need to flash?

There hasn't been a firmware update yet for the n900t. Mi7 is the original fw the Tmo Note 3 launched with. So there aren't any modems right now.

[Q] Android update and carrier question

It's my firs post, so forgive me if thread is in wrong place, and replace it if you can. Thank you.
So, ok...I've got N-5100 with original soft: 4.1.2 Android version, N5100XXBMC89 modem, XXBMD1 version number.
There was an update do 4.2.2 but not in my country (Poland). I know that I can make manual update, but my question is: is the 3g will be working? From which country should I choose an update?
Will be glad for ANY help.
Thank You.

Ok, my N5100 had the same modem/software as yours. I rooted with CF-Auto-Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2291839. Next, using odin, I flashed PhilZ Touch: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552657 to get a custom recovery. Last, using PhilZ, I flashed this rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2407752.
Everything went very smooth. It was the easiest root and upgrade I have done. I ended up with stock-rooted 4.2.2. 3g works great on AT&T and phone reception is also very good.
Read the instructions in each of the forums and be careful that you download the correct files. For example, PhilZ has a file for the N5100 as well as the N5110.
Hope this helps.

Yeah, I'm just worried about this carrier stuff. My question is if the German version of software will be working with Polish 3g operators. But tomorrow is Sunday, I will have time to try your way. TY.

What does your current modem/baseband show? I'm running ezkat and flashed the rogers modem no problem. I'm with Koodo in Canada i317m
If you download the latest Stock ROM from sammobile you should be able to extract the modem and flash it using odin. source
I have the stock koodo rom and was able to do the above succesfully to test just now.

Perhaps it's time for a new rom? Rogers, Telus, Bell, Fido, etc... all use the exact same modem. I finally have all my roms and mods all linked in my sig. I also flashed the MK5 just right now. Everything seems to be working fine on my end.
Edit: So this morning when I started to make a few phone calls my phone would just reboot itself and be stuck in a bootloop. Flashed the BMA3 modem and everything is back to norm.

The Canadian stock 4.4.2 firmware came out today. I'd recommend you Odin the stock 4.4.2 Telus firmware then rooting it again. This way you get the lastest Telus Modem and 4.4.2 booloader. Latest Telus Modem is in my sig. You can try it. Works great for me on eZKAT 2.0 rom.

Yes, most Canadian carriers (Telus, Bell, and Rogers/Fido) uses the same modem. Not sure about Wind and Mobilicity though.

I really don't know, it could just be a side effect of a custom rom. Anyway lets assume you have already tripped knox, you should be able to run NF4 full firmware and then root with cf autoroot. I'm currently on NF4 knox tripped root and custom recovery

How do you figure that? The version numbering doesn't match the S5.
Kernel and baseband info clearly state they are for the N900T.
The version number and time stamp look like a new release (Aug 15) for the T-Mobile Note 3.
So am I the only one on this firmware? Can I still downgrade to e6 root
I googled it - NF6 is definitely an S5 firmware as louforgiveno stated.

mentioned this regarding the new modem that just came out days ago:
Unless someone can confirm more radio/modem changes/improvements already claimed by T-Mobile regarding this M919UVUFNH7 update, there should be no expected improvements aside from the new in-flight wifi.
Am I right people?
So if you are not wanting to use wifi on an airplane in the near future, there isn't really any reason to flash the new modem binaries. Unless you just like the hassle of Odin flash, don't reboot, pull your battery, stick out your tongue and hold your head just right, -repeat

Question CAN F936U FLASH F936U1 Firmware?

hello,I want to F936U flash F936u1 Firmware,how can I do?
I'm absolutely sure that you can do that.
I have tried it yesterday and successfully changed the model.
But, you can't flash it via ordinary Odin. You have use a patched Odin which can be found in XDA and flash the u1 firmware in it.

我绝对确定你可以做到这一点。
我昨天试了一下,成功换了型号。
但是,你不能通过普通的 Odin 来刷机。您使用了一个可以在 XDA 中找到的修补过的 Odin,并在其中刷新 u1 固件。

Ok I just flashed from U1 to a W ROM, specifically F936U1UES1AVJ1 (Android 12, XAA) to F936WVLU1BVK3 (13, XAC), and it all seems like it works fine. I'll update if I run into anything in the next few days.
Just a note that although it doesn't matter, it was originally a SM-F936U (updated to U1 then W)

Hey shorty I bought it used with U firmware and just to be safe to make sure it's stock and the fact U (and W) versions didn't get much updates, I flashed with the U1. Android 13 was released first for unbranded Canada XAC and since I'm actually using on Canadian networks, might as well. So far ok. No issues to report.

Hey I'm not too sure if you mean this, but yes mine is factory unlocked (actually a dev/demo device). And yes on Canadian network. You can always flash with the newest ATT ROM if yours is from ATT but hasn't gotten updates. Just make sure it indeed is the right model.

I did not keep user data so not sure if you can or should. But I think if you're switching model/CSC, the general consensus is to do a clean flash. If you just want to enable Canadian bands that are disabled on a US device, you can search up a way to do so I think using engineering mode.

If you're on any of the U or U1 firmware, I think you can safely flash to any other U/U1 without any issues. I usually cross reference with samfw and Frija too. Have a wonderful day too friend.
Would this enable Sim for phones without it? The SM-F9360 does not have esim support, could be software, I hope.
Can i go from U to W and then root? Or not possible?
Can I go from ATT and flash TMO variant if the model number is the same? SM-F936U? The phone is unlocked FYI. [email protected]
