Any stock kernel?

I'd just make a cwm backup of your stock rom. Then go back and fourth. Its what I do without any issues at all. I just have to clear my play store data as I have market problems after but that's it.

Yes I have a back up so I don't need to flash a stock kernel or will the back up will do the job
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
When you restore from the nandroid backup you'll get the kernel you had before. So you'll have the stock kernel again when you restore

I flashed to the Odin ICS (first one) then put ardatd's kernal on then flashed ICS , flashed his kernal, then odin back to 2.3.5 from samfirmware
Then u should not be rooted if u used the samfirm tar file. That takes it back to solid stock... is ur recovery back to stock as well?

Yes
Might just be a problem with att. Manually flash a stock 2.3.6 and see if that works.

Are there any simple plain proper English-language guides on how to unroot properly? I've tried installing the stock ROM from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1364740, and my phone is as rooted as ever.
For that matter, can I and should I uninstall clockworkmod recovery? If so, how?
I have used odexme.apk to reodex my rom, but I found something I am wanting to do on my rom but I need to be deodexed. How can I do this?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Not sure if it will work but just try to restore to the backup you made before you used the odex me app.

Either that or reflash the rom without wiping data, just wipe cache and dalvik

Stock rooted ROM wont be able to get the latest ota?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk 2
I think you will need to be back on stock with a stock recovery. I tried flashing an ota a while ago when was stock rooted and it failed at 25% or somewhere in there
Sent from my SGS3
Yes and you need to be unrooted as well. You can use OTA Rootkeeper from the market to temp un-root, take OTA and the re-root.
I have the stock recovery, and I do have that app. I'll give it a go.

If you have Mobile Odin you can load up the whole FW and then pick only recovery to flash.
Also Cybernook has a stock recovery a few threads down, but we are not sure which version it is.
Or if you can wait just a bit ill get it uploaded and get out the link.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Ah, yea forgot. Yea I still have the h2 image I used somewhere but forgot mobile Odin can flash just the recovery section of that.
Thanks!

The OTA isn't available to everyone yet. My phone is stock and not rooted and the OTA doesn't show up yet.

Same here. Haven't heard of anyone getting it yet.

Is it possible to go back to the stock recovery without losing data? I would like to keep my TW backup up to date.
I don't remember if you can just ODIN the stock recovery and not have any issues. If anyone can chime in it would be nice.

You can reload the stock recovery without losing any data.
If you do not have it you can get an Odin flashable stock recovery here.

okay, so If i make a nandroid backup I know what things it saves.
I just wanted to make sure, when it restores applications, does it restore the downloaded ones from the android store? like temple run and such?
ALSO when i perform a restore, Does it automatically flash the old rom with data or must I first flash the rom of the backup and then preform the restore?
THANKS
It restores your phone to the exact same way it was when you made the backup. All you have to do is reboot after restoring and it will be exactly the same as before the backup.

Since when does CWM not restore kernel? Lol. If it didn't restore the kernel, going from TW to AOSP (or vice versa) wouldn't boot
