Hey guys,
Was wondering if it possible to flash a stock Rogers rom onto a bell galaxy s3!
Would that cause any problems?
Thanks in advance!
Same ROM. No point in flashing.

i dont think its the same, the rogers one has apn type settings locked to only 3 choices.
On the att one you can type in manually in a text field.

you are comparing Rogers with ATT
Bell has the EXACT SAME ROM as Rogers
I was also wondering the same. I have a bell s3. The rom is the same but i find bell has more of there own bloatware than the rogers rom. Can the carrier apps be switched by flashing the Rogers csc. If yes does it delete all the bell bloatware and is it going to factory reset my phone.

Really? Can you just flash the AT&T modem on top? I can't get the flash to even take at this point. I get an Auth error.

Right cause it is not built to run. Why would you want to do that anyways? ATT stock sucks and is full of bloat.

That's exactly why I want it. I want I747M (Bell) to run on my AT&T i747. I thought the phones were the same, there's no difference in the hardware as far as I can tell.
Hi everybody,
This is my first post on this forum, I am writing as I am in desperate help to help solve my issue with my note 2. I am on Tmobile in the UK. I rooted and installed a custom rom. My 3g signal disappeared. So I tried to go back to stock firmware, which I did. But I have made a mistake and installed a 'three' network firmware (4.2.1) and I am still unable to receive 3g signal? Does anybody have any idea as to where I have gone wrong or how to get my internet back?
Thanks in advance
Danny
Go to setting - wireless (more) - mobile network - access point names
Now if you can see any apn there open it and delete
Then select menu key-restore to defaut
If it doesn't work
You can ask operator for it
Or manually copy from others who have working 3g and have same operator
Or
Select toolbox in my signature and find last tool and try that.

Thanks so much for the reply. I tried deleting the APN...and then resetting it but it just put back on the exact one that I deleted. I clicked on your toolbox link...what is it that i have to download from there? I am completely baffled as to what to do. I mean I am on a tmobile contract, so am confused as to why I am now on the three network firmware? Would that have something to do with it?
If I can get it back to tmobile stock then I could take it into store and let them sort it I suppose.
Thanks
Yes download that you may find correct apn from its database for your network and you can manually copy it.

I am using the GT-N7100 on Tmobile. I saw a video that said you could put any network carrier firmware on to the phone by flashing it on Odin. I did that but it was with the three network firmware 4.2.1. So obviously when the phone boots it has the three logo etc. I am trying to find a stock 4.2.1 tmobile firmware, so I can flash that onto the phone....hopefully see if that sorts the 3g problem and if it doesnt I can atleast take the phone into tmobile and get the problem sorted without them asking questions.
I have been on Sammobile.com for firmwares...does tmobile firmware come under the code 'BTU'?
Edit
Sorry it's not Germany
N7100 don't have tmobile i think
Its not have different model?
Wait someone on tmobile answer it

You are a diamond. I will download and flash it over and see what happens.
Thanks
If that works for you, then just note apn setting manually and later flash any latest 4.1.2 rom for unbranded
And if your 3g won't work just put it manually, but I think unbranded should work.
I am saying this bcoz rom you are downloading having two serious bug.
Exploit
SDS
And very dangerous and can brick your device.
---------------------------
Meantime check your apn and correct following field if that is different than mentioned below
Apn : internet
If not work then check below said too
MCC 204
Mnc 16

I flashed the firmware onto my phone but it has been stuck on the boot logo for over half an hour now. I have run out of ideas. I will keep searching for the tmobile firmware.
Sorry...the phone has finally booted and is now working and back. 3g is online too!!! Thankyou so much for the help!
Gld to know you sorted out it
anyway, whenever phone stuck after flashing ROM, first step to follow is wipe cache and data from recovery.
I'm purchasing a Note 2 from another carrier. Telus or Bell but will be using the phone on Rogers network. They all have the same model SGH-i317M but different firmwares? Is this correct? There is no difference between the different Canadian carriers versions of the Note 2 other than the firmware, correct?
If I simply unlock using the unlock code will it function fine on the Rogers network with the Telus firmware? Would it work better if I flash the Rogers firmware?
Once rooted with CWM recovery installed can I flash Rogers/Telus/Bell versions of the firmware with no problems? If I install the Rogers stock Note 2 firmware will I get Rogers OTA updates? If I leave the phone unlocked but rooted with CWM recovery and Telus firmware the phone will continue to get Telus OTA updates?
I've only had nexus phones this far and rooting and flashing has been easy, I understand the process I just don't want to flash the wrong thing.
It should work fine on rogers. All that flashing a rogers rom will do is bloat your phone with rogers ware
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda app-developers app
Yes u are fine.. same fw different bloat
Same firmware just carrier customized(bloatware). I think if you unlock it will give you the ota for whatever carrier you are on. But you should go with custom roms anyways. You will get a 4.2.2 rom long before you get an update. I use aosp but I hear cleanrom and skynote are the best tw roms.

Oops
Friend asked to check what can be done to get it working on T-mobile network...
This is what I have accomplished so far...
Got phone with MG1
Service menu unlock didn't work...
Downgraded MDJ through ODIN to see if it helps... No luck...
Got root by flashing through ODIN CF-Auto-Root for T-mobile's m919
Unlocked using RegionLock Away.
Didn't have much time to test, but was able to make calls with T-mobile SIM
QUESTIONS...
1. What recovery to flash?
2. What ROMs can I use??? T-mobile's m919??? International 9500 or 9505?
3. Do these phones have locked bootloader? How to check without risking to brick it?
4. Anything else needs to be done??? I don't think we are in 4G market with T-mobile.
Would be great to flash SlimBean...

Yeah... I was all over that thread... My next step is flashing recovery... Which version of recovery to use? Goo Manager suggests the one that is used on Canadian 337 phones... Should I use it or manually flash T-mobile version for example?

OK...
There is no SGH-M919V or Videotron among supported on TWRP page.
Which one will it be? "Canada"? But there 2 versions of S4 in Canada. One is m919v (kinda like T-mobile) and 337 like AT&T
I read somewhere that Canadian TWRP for 337. Goo Manager just suggests Canadian recovery.
Another fact: some 919V owners run TWRP, but nobody specified which version...
So... Canadian or something different? There is no recovery that says it it for SGH-M919V
If it was me I'd use cwm for the T-Mobile s4

Flashed TWRP for Canadian S4, installed SlimBean for T-mobile S4...
Everything seems to work, but no T-mobile SIM to really test yet... Will have it in couple days...
Hi I just unlocked the note 2 att version to work for t-mobile by downgrading to firmware 4.1.1. Now I can use the phone for t-mobile. I now want to root and have an updated t-mobile based custom rom installed.
To achieve this must I first odin flash t-mobile's official 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) firmware and
then root and then install a t-mobile 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) based custom rom?
Or can I simple root and just install a 4.1.3 (or 4.1.2) t-mobile custom rom?
Thanks!

you should be able to root 4.1.1 and I think you should be able to root it with the exynos abuse apk. if not cf auto root should handle it. then you can add recovery and flash any rom you wanted
I've done this too. I was wondering if international ROMs would work on the att note2 unlocked and on T-Mobile. I've searched around but I found it tough to get a strait answer. I will probably just try it and see but wanted to ask first.

Make sure you stick with your device's native modems. Don't try a T889 modem on an I317. You will be sad.

I have read all of that thread. The only thing I have not tried from it was changing the imei to 0, which one or two people said worked. I'm beginning to think the guy that sim unlocked my note2 didn't do it correctly. If I Odin back to 4.1.1 will it allow me to unlock again?

If you can get any tmo service at all, it is unlocked. If you really want to try the unlock again, just flash a 4.1.1 modem appropriate for your device's model number. Don't flash modems across device models.
Are you certain you are in an area that has tmobile LTE service?
What baseband are you on?

Do I need both a tmo and att sim card to unlock?
Yes we have LTE. I've been able to connect to LTE with nexus 4, HTC one and note3.
I was on 4.1.2 modem and I flashed the newest one Monday.

I don't think you need both sims.
What specific baseband are you on?
Have you put *#2263# and checked to ensure you are in automatic. Have you tried to allow all LTE bands via the same menu?

hey i have an att note 2 and have tmobile service. the phone is unlocked, rooted and on 4.1.2?
what would be the best thing to do? im thinking getting the tmobile software/ROM. once i have that will it work lik a regular t mobile note, (like i will be
able to update OTA when 4.4 for t mobile's note 2 comes out?)
but i dont know how to. i have odin installed n thats all lol. do i need to change kernels? im a total noob on this stuff. help me please
i want to update to the newest tmobile stock firmware, cuz on the att one i cant even turn on my wifi, i hear the best thing to do to fix that problem is to update the firmware or factory reset it, which is only a temporary fix. n i cant update it because im on t mobiles network.
