Cheap Pogo Pin Dock

So far the cheapest OEM Pogo Pin Landscape Dock I've found cost USD57. Anyone found any units that would be cheaper?

How about a link to the one you found?
One thing about the pogo pins doesn't make sense to me. If the pins are on the same side as the power switch, how would you turn the phone on and off? Because of that, I think I might be better off getting a USB dock.

You don't turn it off. It says at clock mode and after a time of inactivity, the brightness is almost zero.

my S2 suffers very bad screen burn where the status bar is in portrait mode (visible only in landscape) - my question is wouldn't the same thing happen if the screen was to stay on at all times in clock mode?
IIRC there's some Settings for dock regarding auto screen off and such.

I know on my aftermarket dock, you can tap the upper side of the phone , which would be the left side up, and it will hit the power button to turn on the screen. Works pretty good.

Yeah, this concerns me too. I would never get a desktop dock for this reason. I like my pretty screen too much
However, I am anxiously looking for a car dock since that's not quite enough hours to cause burn-in

While the phone is in the dock the clock doesnt stay in one spot only. It bounces around on the screen in a random pattern (at least to me it looks like it doesnt have a pattern) in an attempt I guess that tries to prevent the screen burning. I was hoping that there was a way to make it so it doesnt bounce around but now that I think about it and this thread popped up its probably a good idea that it does that.
I sure wish aftermarket pogo pin docks would start being released already...$57 for the official one is too much IMO.

Death grip?

Holding the superior (top half) part of the phone in the palm of the hand shows drastic drop in wifi signal (tested with dB meter), also visible in wifi icon "lines".
Does this qualify as a death grip and eligible for replacement?

No, that is just you blocking the wifi antenna... Death grip is more of a joke actually, it means if you pinch the top left side of the phone with your hand the connection will cut out (Now why you need to hold that part of your phone closed tight in your hand is a mystery)
Yet, if you can <<Disconnect>> your wifi by holding the top left corner of your phone, you can go for warranty if your phone is still lock...

Yeah I have the same problem as the OP, mine gets to the point where I can get it to go from full signal to absolutely nothing simply buy holding my hand over the camera.
Are you sure this is normal?
I would say you're blocking the wifi signal.
If it was going the other way "death grip" the phone and the signal boosts then you have the wifi problem and would need to contact HTC to get it fixed

Yes, that is normal (Actually it is not normal by international wifi standards, there is a problem with HOX WiFi antenna, but as this hardware problem is in all HOX devices and even HTC is admitting it, it counts as normal)
Hi there,
I have one X and tried this method and signal drops if i hold (half top) of the phone, but i don't think this can called Death Grip.. i also tried with Sensation and Evo3D, they loose signals like One X.

[Q] NTTdocomo Galaxy note 2 sbeam?

can anyone confirm if the NTT docomo note 2 (SC-02E) dont have S-beam? coz I cant find any option for turning it on. And it seems my nttdocomo note 2's back plate does not have those 2 gold terminals from the back cover and back of the phone ( those tiny terminals for wireless charging mod.)

Yeah, we don't have the nfc hardware to allow for sbeam or android beam, the settings menu is hidden. I tried it and it caused settings to fc.

WiFi antenna location?

I have noticed that I consistently get a better WiFi signal if I hold the N7 in landscape with the usb port pointing to the left. Is this the designed position for the N7 in landscape? If so, then I don't understand why they would have the NEXUS logo oriented upside down when holding it this way.

Signal loss inside buildings, antenna issues?

So I have the Google Play edition Samsung Galaxy Nexus 16GB. What happened was my power button gave up so I ordered a replacement on eBay and carefully opened up the phone to replace the power button.
After reassembly, I immediately started having signal issues. Basically the phone loses all cell signal inside any building. Once I step outside, signal comes back.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue?
One thing I have to mention is that upon reassembly of the phone, there was a thin black wire with a tiny coaxial like connector that I disconnected but couldn't for the life of me get it connected again. Could that wore be the problem?
Any tips on how to get it connected again? Is it supposed to snap in? Will I hear a click once its in place?
All help and suggestions appreciated, thanks

That is the line to the antenna. You are basically running without an antenna now. Connect it!
Basically, signal strength of GN is very weak.

Connect the antenna and yes you will feel a definite snap when it is seated properly.
