That would depend on what variant you got. Is it Verizon, sprint, or gsm. If you got Verizon Xenon HD with the glados kernel has been fantastic for battery life and performance.

stock.

Stock rooted or go with paranoid android. Best hybrid rom in my opinion. And don't forget about aokp

almost all the custom ROM are unstable at the moment. I am using stock for now, but if you want custom ROM right now, I really like aokp black bean ROM. It's not hundred percent full featured, but it is quite stable

If you want CM10, look at this. I like it, althogh I still go with CM9.

I've been running Gummy 1.0.1 for four days now with no issues. My Samsung extended battery seems to be lasting longer with the governors that are included with the ROM. I would recommend YouTube to get a feel for the different ROMs available.

I've always used MIUI on my Nexus S. I want to see how it is on the GNex first. ARHD intrigues me because I love the Stock android feel and don't like the launcher overlay some ROMs use.
What do you think?

Stock its really good at everything... If you want feature rich rom + stock feel i suggest AOKP Milestone 5 + Franco kernel

Your daily ROM?

I'm just curious of what ROM you guys are using as a daily driver for your galaxy nexus
I personally use Black Jelly Bean (based on aokp) because I love the true black theme and the inverted gapps
Also I find it one of the most stable ROM out there and battery is pretty solid too!
I wanna here from you guys!

I've tried several but always return to liquid, its the only one I've found that includes all the features I got used to on ICS. Love the theme of black bean but will wait til aokp incorporates more features into JB.

Rasjellybean. Best AOSP ROM out there, in my opinion.

JellyBro nightly very happy
I have been on paranoid android and I like it so far. Forget which kernel I am running. Under about phone it just says unavailable lol. Good battery life so far. Smooth too. tried aokp, bamf and code name android.
Been looking to switch it up though... anyone have a suggestion for a ROM/kernel combo that has a decent amount of features and customization without sacrificing battery??

Liquid/trinity. Auto sync mobile data and auto brightness on the whole time and I just did 21 hours with 4½ display, will add screenshots from laptop in morning.
I wanted a change so I'm now trying rasbean jelly with trinity kernel. As long as battery holds up the same I'll probably stick with this for a few weeks.

I've switched my ROM to official aokp nightly I do like the inverted apps, but I found updates to be to slow so now, I have nightly aokp overclock to 1.4 and still around 4 hours of screen on time!

New S3 user with some questions about ROMs out there

Hi all,
This is my first venture into Android and I must say, I these are incredible phones, and I am very excited for the future of mobiles again!
I've tested out a few ROMs so far, and while the ASOK and cyanogen mods are more my thing, the ROMS out for them are not (still buggy as a daily driver for me)
On the other hand the stock rom for this phone is awesome. All functions are working fine and I haven't had one hiccup yet.
Anyone know another ROM that is as stable and possibly in JB. If not on JB but a batter rom that I stock which is still on ICS?
Thanks for your help!

CM10 Monthly builds are also quite stable. I've been using it for 2 months now. Also if you like the look of TouchWiz and want to stay on it but remove the Samsung bloatware, you could use the debloater tool or use Titanium Backup to freeze system apps
I'll be getting my S3 tomorrow. Will going to a ROM ruin the special features that come with the phone, like the best photo option?

I am also new to the GS3 and so far ive gone through the Wanamlite rom, Triune ll, and currently on the Nexus Mod Triune ll. the Wanamlite rom was the best for battery consumption but i am loving the add ons and theming behind the triune roms. here are the links:

If you go with CM10, then you'll lose the stock camera app. I miss that app. The gyroscope features and floating video will be gone.
I haven't really tried the touchwiz based roms or AOKP.

I put on the second milestone CM10 from a week ago. Seemed had some microphone issues. Also on some apps couldn't do voice note feature which was a deal breaker for me.
Overall all features which work in regular build of android should work on my phone as well.

all roms will have SOME bugs on them, even stock ones. I suggest trying a few 4.04 touchwiz based ones such as KOODO or JK, and moving from there to a AOSP based 4.1 or 4.2 rom or a 4.12 leak.
Anything Jedi
Haven't been disappointed since I bought this phone

CM10.0 Stable - I find it smoother and faster compared to Touchwiz roms.
I say go to jedi mind trick or jedi jelly. Both are extremely smooth and stable.
Cyanogenmod 10 was my first ROM and I think it's pretty easy to install and use. Recently I started using PACman and it's pretty easy to use too. Just make sure you know what you're doing before you start romming!
I liked aokp because of all of the features it offered but the battery life on my tmobile galaxy s2 was not the greatest. i'm currently rocking sons of android build 2, from the maker of the jedi roms.

Embryo 6-8, just awesome my favorite to date, another one I liked was JMT but that was ICS 4.0.3, it ran great but I felt that I downgraded since my stock ROM was 4.0.4. Others I tried were AOKP 4.2.2 M1 B5, just too AOSP looking for my taste, had random crashes, Jedi Jelly this one just stuck on booting.
So:
#1 Embryo 6-8, overclocked to 1.78 using samsung governer
#2 Stock 4.0.4 Koodo
#3 JMT
