I've updated to CM9 Kang (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1759007), and while I was able to pair the bluetooth phone audio with my vehicle, the sound will not transfer over to the car. I can control the phone from the car (dialing, hanging up, etc.), but the audio remains on the phone. This used to work just fine under CM7.2.
Has anyone else experienced an issue like this? I've tried the obvious fixes such as unpairing/repairing and clearing the bluetooth data from the phone.
I've had the same issue on Linaro CM9, 8/6. I've been searching for a fix as well.
Pretty sure its a universal bug throughout our cm9 roms.

Actually, I flashed one of Invisiblek's nightlies and the bluetooth audio worked fine. So I dunno.
Yeah, I think it's just the Linaro builds that have bluetooth issues. Been on invisiblek's nightlies for weeks without any trouble.
Picked up an LG Tone BT headset today, paired and works fine. Music and calls connect without issue.
Well I guess I'm an idiot. My BT works fine. I know I saw some people saying bt wasn't working.

Whenever I pair my gs3 to a Bluetooth device and play music, I get bad crackling sounds. Is this cm10 problem or hardware problem?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
I have the same issue on OTA non root JB. Motorola headsets S10-HD and S305 both have the same problem for me. This is very discouraging as they worked great with CM 9.1 on my last phone (G2)
Was hoping to find out that CM 10 was better.
Change your govenor to performance. It helps. And for CM10 I used faux kernel and got the least crackling. Or set a profile with set cpu like I did when using your favorite music player.

CM10. CM10 did not have BT support until recently, and its buggy at best.
Run stock and all your devices' features will work.
It might have to do with the bt bass bug. It was fine on earlier nightlies, but it started happening about 2-3 weeks ago. You can test by playing music, then call someone real quick and hang up. Your music should resume with full range of sound frequencies.

Has anyone else noticed this? I've tried LiquidSmooth RC8, the latests Paranoid Android, and the newest SlimROM. They all must be based off the same ROM, because audio quality is equally horrendous. I notice that in the Settings > Sound that there is an option to select between MusicFX and DSPManager. However, none of these applications seem to have any affect over the audio, whatsoever. I am surprised that the BASE audio wouldn't be the same as every other ROM. Shouldn't these EQ/DSP add-ons just allow you to modify the stock flat-EQ? Most people would probably want a flat EQ anyways, because their audio ends up on the car stereo, or some other device that already has these controls.
With that said, are you guys noticing the same thing? I absolutely cannot get Pandora or Spotify (haven't tried any others because I don't care,) on these new ROMs. I hope this isn't what the latest CM10 offers, because I am about to flash to that now.
Oh man, I just loaded up the latest CM10 stable and it has the same problem... At least DSPManager can modify the EQ for the entire system, not app-specific. Even still, it sounds nowhere near as good as it did before. While I'm flashing my phone I am playing feeding the same Beacon "The Phoenix" audio cube on my desk with my Transformer TF300T and it is shaking the whole surface with bass, and sounds very full. I played with all the EQ settings, and went manual and got nothing remotely close using my S3 with these ROMs.
Just restored my CM10 11/7/2012 nightly and it has flawless audio over bluetooth--but other issues like missed calls, etc
You silly op you.that's backwards dspmgr is simply part of the general aosp experience and all aosp roms recently developed that bug

I dug through quite a view AOSP-based ROM threads and could not find anything. I don't understand how anyone could possibly use these ROMs with that horrifying bug?
Freeze or uninstall DSPmanager then install a new audio engine (I use team AC!D's), problem solved.
EDIT: I've never had that happen before but I always freeze that app and I've been using AC!D audio mod since the beta for this phone.

Hate to say it but it's unrelated and all over the cm10 thread

I just bought power amp and all of my songs are extremely low quality. This doesn't seem to be a problem on aokp for my cousins s2. Wonder if its an s3 only deal.

Its terrible...I cant even use any of these ROMS because of this!
I don't have issues over wire, but Bluetooth is borked in aosp. Due to the transition to 4.2 don't expect quick fixes so.... I moved to a tw rom mainly because of bt and ril related battery drain.......

Is this supposed to be a 'feature?' If so? They should remove DSPManager and let us decide. I would always prefer some flat EQ so that I can process it elsewhere.
I have 2 sg3's one Jelly Bombed and one CM10 based. Side by side TW BT sounds better. 1 fix for CM10 is after starting BT audio go to your phone and make a call (I just dial 123) then hang up as soon as it connects. Viola, bass is back and audio is tolerable... hope this helps you out

Yes, Bluetooth still is buggy but battery life with Wind 1.9 is a huge step forward. Getting close to ICS battery life. If you use PAC-ROM I believe Bluetooth works good.
The release candidate is up now does this mean bluetooth is working?
i decided i'd try my car bluetooth audio i'll report back after it's installed and tested

I tried it with a home system. It was a no go. The Bluetooth would connect but no audio would play haven't tried with an ear piece yet.

i just tested it with the default apollo player on RC2 and it worked fine, i only played it for about 5-10 min but i skipped tracks and played with it a little seemed fine, next time i drive anywhere a little further i can test it on a larger scale, but i can verify it works with my mazda bluetooth car stereo on RC2 atleast SOME.
I got a new Corolla and aosp roms can't seem to stream Google music to the car stereo without skipping every couple seconds and playback can't be paused. Is anyone else seeing similar behavior? Running the latest cm11 nightly and all aosp Roms I've tried seem to be affected. No problem on stock.

I find the Note 3 bluetooth not as good as my old S4. I cannot get text messages to be read anymore either but I could with the S4.
Random shuffle never stays and it occassionally pauses .

I've never had this problem with my radio, maybe it's the ROM you have
GP streams fine on cm11 with my car radio (aftermarket Kenwood)

Yeah, for some reason it only happens on my new car. My old aftermarket one worked fine.
Several months ago I loaded up a CM based rom and found out when talking to people on the phone, they couldn't hear me. It was fine when using the headset cable and possibly Bluetooth.
I've looked all over CMs website but I can't find whether it's still an active bug or if it's fixed.
Does anyone know if this is fixed?

Good question. I dont know either.

I believe u have to add or replace this in your build.prop
persist.audio.handset.mic.type=digital --> replace digital with analog
persist.audio.dualmic.config=endfire -- replace endfire with false
Since i changed it i haven't had any complaints so far but flashing to new nightly makes it revert again, keep that in mind.

I'm running the latest nightlies and it is still an issue. I'm usually using speaker or a headset. Going to try the build.prop edit above. Aside from that, I've been pretty happy how CM is running.
Update: the build.prop edits fix the in call mic problem. Big thanks JustinNL, this was a headache for me!
