I installed android 4.1.1 (JB), but found two problems:
1º) How to move the applications on the screen? (in ancient android that I had, it was just click options, and I crept shaking apps)
2º) How to configure to make video call?

1: Well as launchers are exactly the same and as I am positive from the information you provided you are using Nova, you simply long press on the app and drag it to the homescreen.
2: Settings > Video call > tick the box that says "always perform video call", then the next time you call someone you should be able to see them and vice versa.

This is simply a tutorial on how to replace Samsung's crappy s-voice with the amazing Google Now voice search!
In order to follow this guide you must be rooted, if you are not and wish to do so, follow the guide here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426 If you are already rooted, then continue with the guide!
Step 1: Installing Google Now:
1.)Download the Google now flashable zip here (download the one entitled mikey7 online/offline voice) XDA Google Now Download Thread
2.)Make sure they are on your internal SD card and reboot into recovery
3.)choose install zip file and navigate to wherever the file is (if you are unsure then there is a good chance that it is filed under downloads/mikey7_offline.zip)
4.)once you are done with this, turn your device back on and verify that the app "Google" is in your app drawer
5.)If so then continue with the tutorial, if not then retry and if that does not resolve the issue then post questions in this forum.
Step 2: Activating Google Now
1.)Make sure you have Google latitude installed and have set up your account for latitude before continuing just to be safe.
2.)Launch the Google Now app and go through the setup until you click the "Yes, I'm in." option and your cards appear
3.)Continue to the next and final step or, if you are happy with not being able to launch Now via double tapping the home button, stop here and have a nice day!
Step 3: Replacing S-Voice
1.)Go into S-voice settings and uncheck the option "Launch S-Voice"
2.)Download a free app from the market called "home2 shortcut" (or link here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut ..)
3.)Set the double tap home option (Home> Home) to launch "Voice Search" from installed applications. (make sure it displays a blue microphone when you do this)
4.)Continue with the instructions for the app and close the app.
5.)Test it out, if it doesn't launch directly into the voice search after doing the double home then follow the next few steps, if it does then skip to step 8.
6.)Open the Google Now app (it will be listed as "Google" in your app drawer)
7.)Press menu>refresh.
8.)Reboot
9.)Enjoy having Google Now on your Ice cream sandwich Samsung Galaxy S3!
Don't Forget to hit the thanks button if this helped you!

Great post! Thanks!
Thanks for this...is there a way to set this up so that a single press while in my launcher (Nova Launcher) returns to the default screen? Single presses in the launcher do not currently do anything.

You maybe can go into gestures settings in nova and set up the double tap for voice search in nova. However, you may have to triple press. This was actually my work around for a small time. You may have to buy the premium nova in order to use gestures though. Hope this works!

the manual search is working perfectlly on my tab 10.1 running 4.0.4.
but the voice function is not. the message of "shell has been granted in su perm" kept appering for tens of times. then the app get forced to close.
thanks for the great effort...

even with a root i cannot seem to be able to change my default phone ringtone to a personalized mp3 or any option to change to a different audio file. only lets me choose from the selected list. i know i can change the ringtone per caller but i would like to use my own ringtone for the regular calls as well. am i asking for too much?
currently running CyanogenMod 10 Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean)
also if anyone else is running this ROM, do you know if i can add a [kill all] button in the task list? my nexus 7 custom ROM had the option to add that button. i would really like that option for my S3 as well.

Swype is not working on GN with 4.1.2 after the update to 1.3.
Is it just me or others are experiencing the same?
It's a known problem.
The solution so far is turn off any apps like lightflow in settings > accessibility.

To fix it you need either go to the Settings / Accessibility - and then turn off all apps that is listed under Services (like LightFlow for example).
Or disable the stock Android Keyboard. Just go to the Apps / All / Android Keyboard - and disable it, also force stop it. Then it is important to restart your phone.
Now you will have Swype selected and working as you main keyboard.
I don't like any of the new themes, an improvement over the old ugly swype but I think I will stick with my old themed swype for now.
anyone has the old .apk version of Swype???

temporary fix....
- Settings > Apps > All
- Disable Android Keyboard
- Reboot phone
- Select Swype
In this manner I am currently able to run both Lightflow and Swype.
I am coming from the S3 and when I created homepage folders to group my apps, when I would open the folder and select an app, the folder would close automatically.
I am noticing on the AT&T Note 2 (JB 4.1.1 stock rom) that the folders do not automatically close. When i launch an app, then hit the back or close the app and return to the TouchWiz launcher, the folder is still open. I really want the folders to automatically close .. am I missing something?
For whatever reason they dont. Do known why just noticed they did that.. I came from the s3 I know what you're talking about

You're right .. it's not the end of the world .. just a minor annoyance and I was wondering if I was the only one with it or if I just didn't remember how I configured it on my S3. I am actually wondering if it might have something to do with 4.1.1 version of JB. I know that the default keyboard selection won't stick after a reboot and that is a 4.1.1 issue that was fixed in 4.1.2 (according to SwiftKey support and a Google announcement)
Checked the software update on my phone for MOD EDIT: Profanity removedand giggles, and to my surprise it was the 4.1.2 update.

There is multiview which allows you to split the screen and show more than one app. Besides this I have not noticed any other major positive changes either. But I gladly admit that while I do not really find much use for multiview, I do like the changes to the camera and gallery.
Then there is the additional bloatware added by AT&T.

You also get smart rotation, which will follow your eyes and not auto rotate if the phone is same orientation as your face (eg lying down)
And I was glad to see they took out the annoying side slide zooming!

Weird. Didn't even notice that with 4.1.1!
I'm on Rogers in Canada up here.. I received this change Friday night (August 9th).
I had just finished that night restoring to stock after a bad flash and device encryption gone wrong..

This is a google thing and not a carrier thing. Google changed the way Android loads 3rd party apps, so that a secondary keyboard won't be loaded over the default.
what’s new in Android 4.1.2
Here’s what’s new in Android 4.1.2 for the Galaxy S3, according to AT&T:
Multi Window: You can open two different apps at the same time into two different windows on the mobile screen.
Auto Share Shot with NFC: By setting the camera to “Auto Share Shot” mode, you can quickly share your photos and videos by simply tapping their GALAXY S III with other NFC and S-Beam enabled devices
Camera features: Paper artist and best face options.
AT&T apps: AT&T services, Drive Mode, AT&T Locker; Family Map, Live TV, and SmartWifi have been loaded.
Other enhancements: Includes calendar, SD Card, and S-Voice enhancements.
I'm so new to this it's not even funny. I rooted my gs3 following the video posted here. As far as I know this means everything else is still stock right? No custom ROMs or Custom recovery or anything? My question is if all that is true can I just update OTA and reroot?
All the instructions I have found have mention flashing back to stock ROMs and using CWM Recovery. As far as I know I don't have any of that, so how do I go about updating?

This is all correct.
Personally, I simply flashed the OTA .ZIP file using CWM on my pre-rooted 4.1.1 (which maintained root)

Phone told me I could only postpone the update 3 times before it would force the download. I ended up just going in to SuperSU and choosing "Full Unroot". Then I downloaded and installed OTA. When it was finished I used CF Autoroot. Odin told my I was good but none of my apps had root permission. Looked in my app drawer and couldn't find SuperSU. Downloaded SuperSU from the play store and when I opened it I was immediately asked to grant super user permissions to those app I had previously tried to use. Everything seems to be working.
Will this or a similar process work when 4.3 is released next month, or is that an entirely different bag of worms?

I feel that 4.3 is just an incremental update, and as such the process should literally be the same.
