Running MooDed currently, what kernel? - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys,
Quick question for everyone, here are my current specs.
Model: LT15i
Version 4.0.4
Kernel: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
Build: MooDed 90.2
I believe my boot-loader is locked as far as I know.
(This is what I did to get to this point, if anythings not making sence)
While I am loving MooDed's build I have noticed I am getting more crashes/stalls/battery drain lately. After doing some digging I think this may be attributed to the (stock) kernel I am running.
My question: Is there a specific kernel that I should be running with MooDed (ArcKnight, DooMKernel, etc) or would keeping the MooDed ROM and running one of those kernels have any conflict?
Also, if anyone has a suggestion for a completely different ROM+Kernel combination feel free to let me know!
Thanks

(if u really use mooded 90.2 ur bootloader is unlocked, or u installes mooded via a backup ..)
anyway, u cant install a custom kernel with locked bootloader!!
u need a unlocked
if ur bootloader is unlocked i recommend arc night kernel v3.5.1 for mooded

Thanks for the reply. This will be a noobie question but how would I knowif I have an unlocked bootloader for sure?

Then you have or have had SIM-locked phone and fastboot is disabled, so only way to unlock the bootloader is via paid method.

So using this: http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ is out of the option even if I follow the steps?
Would this: http://www.cellunlocker.net/ website work?
Thanks

[Q] nAa-r2 recovery CWM + SE TWEAKED v0.7 = Possible?

in the thread of nAa-r2 CWM for mini/pro/active/arc it say you can install stock rom in the recovery, and i searched for stock rom and i bumped into SE tweaked thread and i am confused if this are compatible. is SE TWEAKED really a stock rom? and one thing SE tweaked thread says that the requirement is unlocked bootloader, mine is still locked but i have fastboot and cwm.. what does that mean? enlighten me please.. thanks..
i think i also need a list of tweaked stock roms that can be use from nAa-r2 CWM..
thanks in advance to all who will answer my query.. ^_^
You can use that recovery on custom kernels/ROMs too.

no kidding?
wow.. but it says will only work on unlock bootloader.. mine is locked..
i just want to make sure that it will brick my phone..
this will be an expensive paper weight if that happens..
I've had a locked BL and that CWM recovery installed.
Then I unlocked my BL, flashed a kernel and the recovery and the backups where still there.

here is a list of ROMs for your phone be sure you have Xperia Arc S not other phone never flash a ROM that is not for your phone because you can cause hardware damage to your phone
i cant install a custom rom, cause my bootloader is locked.
edit.:
can i install arconium (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1565475) cause it only requries a "stock kernel with CWM???
A unlocked bootloader is only usefull to install other kernels, but because this rom is compatible with a stock rom, i think i dont have to unlock the bootloader, right? :cyclops:

It seems Acronium requires an unlocked bootloader
for your first flash I recommend to install a stock-based ROM just leave bootloader as it is if you just wanna do this way then use a laptop when flashing /unlocking bootloader cause every failure in bootloader results in a dead-phone then only service tools save your phone -your phone is bricked
so search in that list for a ROM that is stock-based choose one with good howto instructions

Can you recommend me a fast rom which is working with a locked bootloader, cause i dont want to risk to install a rom, which is not compatible with my phone, and then my phone is broken ..
So if something goes wrong it is NOT possible to restore with CWM recovery?
here some information about my phone:
baseband-version: 8x55A-AAABQOAZM-203028G-72
Kernel-version: 2.6.32.9-perf [email protected] #1
android: 4.0.4

Arc S BL Unlock

I've unlocked my BL using Flashtool and the Unlock Code generated via the Sony BL Unlocking website. I wondered if there was a way to find out if the BL Unlock had worked?

Go to service menu *#*#7378423#*#*
& go to Service info/ configuration.
To check Bootloader unlocked - Yes.
Or try flashing a custom kernel [email protected] Fastboot.
If it tells in fastboot Device must be rooted. Means that ur BL is not unlocked.
If flashing progress Finished Successfully .then ur BL is surely 200% unlocked

I flashed the FXP128 Kernel using Flashtool Fastboot mode, now my phone is in a continual boot loop, so I think the BL is Unlocked, but there seems to be a problem with the Flash.
Is there anyway to recover to a working phone or is it terminally bricked?

I didn't Install the ROM as I was unable to get to the SONY Splash Screen to enter CWM to Flash Paranoid Android.
I managed to get my phone to Install the latest stock Sony Kernel.
I might have to find a decent AOSP ROM that runs on stock Kernel.

[Q] Cyanogenmod Through ROM Manager

Hi, I have searched everywhere for the solution to my problem I even tried posting in cyanogenmod official forum but no one posted back so I'm gonna try posting my problem here
I just rooted my Arc S (LT18i) and I wanted to install cyanogen mod in it the only problem is that I can't :/
My bootloader is locked so fastboot mode in my phone isn't enabled , I don't wanna pay 20$ just to unlock it so I bought and instaled Rom Manager, I've read that I could also intall cyanogen mod through there.
When I select "Download ROM" it said that I needed to install CWM and it asked me if I wanted to install it now, I said yes and selected my phone model, then it said that my phone isn't yet supported, no problem I just needed to use x-part to download and install CWM , everything went fine in x-part and now I have CWM, then I tried going to "Download ROM" again, once again it says that I need to install CWM, I just said that I installed it manualy it accepts it and Cyanogen wasn't on the list .. I don't know why.
I have the lincensed version and I do have Advanced mode on.
Can someone please help me, I realy wan't to install cyanogen mod in my phone.
Thanks for reading

As you need to flash the CM kernel you need to unlock the boot loader.
Rom Manager does not support Xperia.

Open Xperia Arc development Section find unlock bootloader thread ,and start learning HOW TO UNLOCK BOOTLOADER, its really easy actually

You would still need to unlock your bootloader. See the guides and stickys, as no boot loader is unlockable.

[Q] Regarding fastboot

Hello!
I'm quite new to this, so bear with me.
I have an r800x CDMA Play - it's rooted (Superuser installed) and has CWM Recovery installed. I have a locked bootloader.
I'm looking to install a custom kernel and ROM. I have tried using Flashtool and fastboot alone to flash the kernel included in the AOKPlay ROM. However, I'm getting some errors - it says that I need to be rooted in order to flash a kernel but I am in fact rooted. Is it possible to install a custom kernel with a locked bootloader or is there a trick that I'm missing?
I'm using Windows 7 64-bit. All required drivers are installed. My device is in fastboot mode.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys/gals.
Hi there! You must have an unlocked bootloader to flash a custom kernel. At least now you can do it for free though. Good luck!

Probably your only hope is via testpoint. It costs to unlock via this method however. Theres are a user called Alejandrissimo who can do this for you

No, you can unlock the bootloader for the R800x (Verizon) for free on Sony website.
Follow these guides:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1662199
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2054512
Just make sure to replace and GSM version of file mentioned in the steps with the CDMA version of your choice.
I suggest trying the NXT (CDMA version) rom. CM9 roms doesn't have as good performance on this device for me.
