Arc S BL Unlock - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I've unlocked my BL using Flashtool and the Unlock Code generated via the Sony BL Unlocking website. I wondered if there was a way to find out if the BL Unlock had worked?

Go to service menu *#*#7378423#*#*
& go to Service info/ configuration.
To check Bootloader unlocked - Yes.
Or try flashing a custom kernel [email protected] Fastboot.
If it tells in fastboot Device must be rooted. Means that ur BL is not unlocked.
If flashing progress Finished Successfully .then ur BL is surely 200% unlocked

I flashed the FXP128 Kernel using Flashtool Fastboot mode, now my phone is in a continual boot loop, so I think the BL is Unlocked, but there seems to be a problem with the Flash.
Is there anyway to recover to a working phone or is it terminally bricked?

Did you install the ROM too?

I didn't Install the ROM as I was unable to get to the SONY Splash Screen to enter CWM to Flash Paranoid Android.
I managed to get my phone to Install the latest stock Sony Kernel.
I might have to find a decent AOSP ROM that runs on stock Kernel.

If you've flashed an FXP kernel then you should be able to enter CWM.

I might have to give it another go now that I've worked out how to restore.

I've tried again and there is no way to get into CWM to flash the Paranoid Android ROM.

I can see just SONY logo, nothing else. I tried turn on CWM mod, but nothing happens. My pc doesn't detect my phone.
Bootloader unlock allowed - Yes this means that bootloader unlocked?

If bootloader locked, recover using Sony Update Service.
If bootloader unlocked, flash a stock ftf file with flashtool or flash a kernel with CWM using fastboot and flash a ROM in CWM recovery.

[Q] Bootloader unlock allowed changed to No, after flashing Stock ICS.

Yesterday I tried to flash a JB room into my xperia arc S. The installation had no problems, but after restarting, the phone didn't pass from the sony logo.
So, with the flashtool I flash the stock ICS again. And the phone is working again, but, now I can not flash any other room because the bootloader is lock.
Now, the phone says: "bootloader unlock allowed: no", and before, it had: "bootloader unlock: yes".
Before, I even had clockworkmod installed and I could flash anything with it, but now... Now, my phone does have the notification drawer anymore.
Does anyone knows how can I fix this?
Thanks for any help.
What ftf file did you flash? Did you exclude simlock.ta from the files?

I flashed( using clockworkmod ) this one first: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2380652, and the phone got stuck at the Sony Logo.
Then, using Flashtool, flashed this: "Lt18i_4.1.B.0.587_1254-8596_Generic_India.ftf" , then I even tried this: "LT18i_4.1.B.0.587_(1254-2184).ftf"
simlock.ta? No.
The problem now is that I can not go into clockworkmod anymore. I even had made a backup with clockworkmod , but now I can't restore it anymore.

Of course you cannot go into clockworkmod, flashing the ftf file will remove it from your phone. You need to flash a stock kernel with CWM or install X-Parts

You can always install X-Parts, it does not require unlocked bootloader.

Yes, but if the phone's bootloader is bloqued again, why install X-Parts to have clockworkmod , if I can not flash another rom?
You can still flash a ROM with X-Parts, just that it will be stock based, definitely not CM/AOKP/PAC.

[Q] I want to reset Xperia S

So I have the Trinity Rom installed, unlocked bootloader, trinity x kernel and a rooted Xperia S. I want to go back to the beginning, to start everything from scratch. Can someone tell me a step by step procedure to revert to the old system because the PC Companion won't repair it because of the custom firmware.
Thanks!
Download and install Emma(the sony developers tool). That can reflash your phone to stock firmware. Or flash an ftf though Flashtool.
Also, there is a sop on the xda website regarding relocking the bootloader if you want to do that.

I have flashed the stock kernel somehow and relocked the bootloader while still having the custom rom, I knew that my phone wouldn't go past the sony logo, because when I was installing the rom I chose bootloader unlocked so now I can't win either way. What should I do, still install emma?

OMFG, what were you trying to accomplish by those actions? Why relock bootloader? Only thing you had to do is to flash prefered FW via Flashtool.

{HELP}XMD C2005 - Stucked at bootanimation after Unlocking!!!

hi XMD users.
I unlocked my XMD C2005 succesfully but when i booted it i got stucked on bootanimation. I tried to flash the 4.3 kernel with CWM and able to go to recovery but still unable to boot into system..
I performed it twice but i have no idea what is the reason behind. my phone is unlockable.
Thanks.
Try flashing the kernel from the stock FTF through Flashtool. If you don't have one, try requesting from other users.

i already flashed the stock CWM kernel for xperia m dual but its no good.. i can put it bring it back to 4.3 but my problem is i can't root it..i always stucked in boot animation everytime i unlocked my device..
any idea why is this happening?
What do you mean, stock CWM? What I meant was to flash the stock kernel, the one that came with your device.

i can do that, but my problem is i can't boot my device after unlocking. i already unlocked my bootloader.. any suggestion?
I just want to ask and know, how long will it takes to boot up after unlocking 4.3 or flashing a 4.3 image with CWM? Coz' when I first unlocked the device it's been more than 20mins and the device still on boot animation..
Any tips? Thanks...
No. All you have to do is to boot into flash mode.
It doesn't normally boot too long. It's just like rebooting the device.
IDK I had some problems too with bootloader unlocking and I found the fix: don't unlock with Sony site, but with flashtool.
AFAIR I relocked my bootloader and then I unlocked it with flashtool and it worked. It's thag button near the flash button.
If you unlocked your bootloader already , relock with TA partition (If you Made).Or just relock it with the latest version of flashtool. And boot into flash mode (Volume down btn press and hold) and flash a .ftf firmware. That's it ----> CHEERS .. if you still facing problems please report in the same thread with my name i.e @XDASenior

Yes for first run after you've flashed your ftf , it may take up to 10 minutes so don't worry
