Evo IRC channel??

I hear there is a #htc-evo IRC channel. I downloaded an IRC client on my phone but I'm not too familiar how the whole thing works. How exactly do I connect to the channel? Thanks for the help guys =)

set up the server for chat.freenode.net. the channel will be #htc-evo.

Andchat help please

So I installed and chat and punched in irc.freenode.net and port 6667
It says SASL access only. How do I set that part up so I can join the room?
EDIT- I got a user name not taken and connected to the channel but when I type something I want to say I get the message "not in a channel, use /<cmd> for server commands"
I have no idea what that means. I thought I was in the channel because it showed me the MOTD but I guess I'm lost at this point. Any help would be greatly apreciated! Oh and if you can't already tell its the first time using irc chat..... lol

I got that error too. I think Sprint blocks IRC - try wifi.

Sprint does not block irc u need to set it up right.... U will need to go to freenode and register nick etc ..... To use it

Cant use andchat and others using evdo or 4g only wifi

I am only using it on wifi and why wouldn't it work on 3g?

I used it all the time on3d before they s-off it ..... Just following along as they worked on it but haven't used it in a while

I just logged into freenode with no problem on et4g .... Under server name just put irc next line is address that is irc.freenode.net leave port blank go down to user name and password u need to go to freenode and reg nick and password ..... After this that goes there and you will be able to go on 3g and all ....

Is there a site for freemode? So I can register my nick?
EDIT- I found the site www.freenode.net but I honestly can't find the place to register my nick

You have to go in on a irc program and then when you are on freenode you have to reg nick google it ...,will have directions I don't remember but I think you have to do it from computer

Hey guys. I just set up an IRC for Team Rejectz. We will be on irc.flux.cd on channel #TeamRejectz.
One rule: Trolls will not be tolerated. If you consistently troll, you will be kicked and booted. Period.

Anyone can come say Hi! We will of course use it for development purposes, but if you wanna drop in and chat for a minute about how bad dog farts smell, we can do that as well.
Just don't flame or troll and you'll be cool.

It becomes apparent that not everyone knows how to use IRC.
If you are on windows, download xchat. you can get it at xchat.org.
sign in using whatever you want to use. select freenode as your server.
type in /join #TeamRejectz or, when it prompts you, choose #Team Rejectz as your client.
Done.

Finally got all this SASL stuff figured out. Anywho, i now have it running on my phone as well.

I use andchat on mine. Absolutely love it.

you know you can set up your IRC to automatically log you in to the room. Then you just open the app, and boom, epic sweetness.

cyanogenmod issue resolved :)

The issue has been resolved and the cyanogenmod.com domain is back in the hands of CM. The site will now be used as cyanogenmod.org though. Read up on it here.

I don't think it affects their sites. I think they used a simple blogging domain (cost efficient one or provided free?). Most of their files seem to be hosted on other mirrored sites compared to CM having direct links and then mirrors. ;p
I could be wrong though!

Yeah, i would take it that he did some major crimes there. The site domain part though I'm not sure about. I'm not sure if he bought it and donated it in the sense that he gave them admin access, but never ownership over it. But hopefully something legally can be done to get them the domain ownership. The other parts though, he definitely has no breathing room. SHAME!

Glide IRC chat..

Hey guys, I haven't seen an IRC channel for our device as of yet. So, I would like to be the first to put one up.
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a great service that can allow us to communicate instantly with one another at
anytime, something that could really help the Glide community grow stronger and help us build our device
together and make it the best it can be. I have opened a channel and you can now join and just hang out
and shoot the breeze, or come in and ask for help with a problem you may be having. I think utilizing a
service like this can really help everyone out and be a fun way to get to know your fellow Gliders.

Ports - 6661-6669

For new to IRC users...
Download mIRC (or preferred client) @ www.mirc.com/
Install mIRC
Once client is open, go to select server..
Click the [ADD] button to the right...
Name this server 1XDAG..
Next, put in required server info above...
Once fully connected (Status window will let you know) type /j #CaptivateGlide
Bam, you're in, and chatting!
(To change your nickname, simple type /nick YourUsername)
