Evo IRC channel??

I hear there is a #htc-evo IRC channel. I downloaded an IRC client on my phone but I'm not too familiar how the whole thing works. How exactly do I connect to the channel? Thanks for the help guys =)

set up the server for chat.freenode.net. the channel will be #htc-evo.

I wasnt able to get my phone today since my local sprint store never received their shipment. Lets just say the manager there was PISSED

Its really simple, just add all the emails in the OP into a new circle in google plus. Call it what ever you like. I'll be calling mine epic 4G touch or something like that

I may be interested. Can someone give a summary of what this is?

Summary: we all have Epic 4g Touch phones, so we can use Google+ as an additional way to communicate news and such without clogging forums or as a way for developers/themers to communicate period.
Hangouts ftw.
So we add all Epic 4g Touch users into a circle on Google+ (if you have Google+ and you don't know circles yet...I highly suggest deleting your Google+)
Here's how:
The OP is putting all our e-mails in the first post. Go to plus.google.com, then go to circles (to the right of the profile tab, or second from the left next to the "find people" search bar).
Create a new circle and call it "Android" or "Epic 4g Touch Friends" or something. I have one already called Android with my contacts from prior phones.
Click "Add a New Person", copy/paste one of the e-mails into the bar and click "Add using e-mail". They will be added to your new Android circle.
Check back now and again and add new peoples and new peoples will add you. Then we have a network on Google+ so we don't have to post here all the time.

huddles are created like chat rooms. there not open all the time. someone opens one up and invites everyone... and no i have not done it yet lol

Hey guys. I just set up an IRC for Team Rejectz. We will be on irc.flux.cd on channel #TeamRejectz.

Anyone can come say Hi! We will of course use it for development purposes, but if you wanna drop in and chat for a minute about how bad dog farts smell, we can do that as well.
Just don't flame or troll and you'll be cool.

It becomes apparent that not everyone knows how to use IRC.
If you are on windows, download xchat. you can get it at xchat.org.
sign in using whatever you want to use. select freenode as your server.
type in /join #TeamRejectz or, when it prompts you, choose #Team Rejectz as your client.
Done.

Finally got all this SASL stuff figured out. Anywho, i now have it running on my phone as well.

I use andchat on mine. Absolutely love it.

you know you can set up your IRC to automatically log you in to the room. Then you just open the app, and boom, epic sweetness.

XDA Hacked?

I have started getting phishing emails to the unique email address I supplied when I created my account here. I have seen this in the past when after SquareEnix and Garlic Jim's had their systems hacked.

I have been getting a lot of emails as well.

Is your email the same as your username?

May I ask what kind of emails you are receiving? Like, what are they saying?
Also, make sure that the URL for these forums are forum.xda-developers.com. If it's different to that, it's possible you could be on a clone site, as we've seen plenty of them pop up over the time.

In my case the email was to [email protected]. So it is possible that somebody randomly guessed it but it seams unlikely.

The first email I revived using the xda login email address I provided was a phishing email saying that they were from Blizzard and that my Diablo 3 account was being investigated for fraud so I should login with the supplied links. Since I had not played Diable 3, I chose not to click the links

maybe you put your email on a thread on xda, and spammers found it??

My email is my username at Gmail. But their spam filter seems to catch everything. Why create an email just to use for xda unless you've been banned before and need another account?

While I don't know about anybody else, I for the most part utilize plus addressing. It tells me the source of SPAM and can be instantly black-holed.

Have a look here for some information regarding plus addressing with Gmail along with using dots in the username part of the address. Regardless of the method used, you can create a filter to auto-delete the specific offending address if its compromised; and, you know the where it was obtained if you use one or both of the methods to register a different e-mail at each Web site.

Worked fine for me when I just checked your profile and history and posts. It may have been a temporary issue.
I don't believe XDA has been hacked. I think it is more likely that a few people accidentally posted their email address in the clear and a screen scraper bot picked them up, or maybe they didn't realize their email contact info was shared through their profile.

It's saying that with me aswell but when I'm on the desktop site, it all shows fine. This slight errors are obviously just while the server side of things is getting sorted.
I also can't view the participated tab, but I don't generally use that anymore anyway.

10 posters have been the only thing I've wanted to do but couldn't really. I've loaded up web view for some of them but it gets quite laborious to be honest :/

Glide IRC chat..

Hey guys, I haven't seen an IRC channel for our device as of yet. So, I would like to be the first to put one up.
IRC (Internet Relay Chat) is a great service that can allow us to communicate instantly with one another at
anytime, something that could really help the Glide community grow stronger and help us build our device
together and make it the best it can be. I have opened a channel and you can now join and just hang out
and shoot the breeze, or come in and ask for help with a problem you may be having. I think utilizing a
service like this can really help everyone out and be a fun way to get to know your fellow Gliders.

For new to IRC users...
Download mIRC (or preferred client) @ www.mirc.com/
Install mIRC
Once client is open, go to select server..
Click the [ADD] button to the right...
Name this server 1XDAG..
Next, put in required server info above...
Once fully connected (Status window will let you know) type /j #CaptivateGlide
Bam, you're in, and chatting!
(To change your nickname, simple type /nick YourUsername)
