I just flashed the jelly bean cm10 rom and the associated gapps... but it claims I should also use aerovan's 10.5 kernel. I've googled all over for it but can't seem to find it. Does anyone know where to download it? Thanks!

There is also an app on the market called GooManager which allows you to get easy access to files on goo.im. aeroeven's 10.5 kernel for instance can be found under /dev/aeroeven/kernel/vivow. I find this app useful to stay on top of the latest rom/gapps/kernel releases.
In goo manager you have to go to devs and find aeroevan. For some reason he isn't in the "browse compatible ROMs" section

Aeroevan has a new kernel for those of you who want to try flashing it. Its over at goomanager if you're interested.

Yup, I already have it flashed over CM7.2 nightly (my dd) and aeroevan's CM9 (test rig).
Runs great!
Aeroevan's CM10 is pretty far along. I may start playing with it on the test rig. Exciting times!

Really? Why do people say things like this? If you don't like it go back to stock, these are roms that are being worked on by our best devs and they are working with what they have, just be happy that we have ICS/JB at all. I for one am very happy with the alpha JB ROMs so far.

+1 - Aero JB ROM breaths new life into my old Inc2. Just LOVE it. Granted it might not for everyone but one has to be willing to accept a certain ... hmm how to say ... "imperfection" when using them. But the rewards are so much more plentiful than the shortcomings. Many thanks to all the devs working hard to making this possible.
The video is in Spanish... In the Youtube comments it's not clear if he already shared this ROM on XDA. I looked around, but I could not find it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33DoSZuS1ao&feature=player_embedded
I like the additions they added to the notification bar and I love Google Now. Can't wait for the update..whenever it gets here

Yea I agree, I do prefer stock JB, but the current AOKP or CM builds just aren't stable enough for me. Touchwiz is perfectly fine though.

wow.. i cant wait till there is a test version of this rom available for the masses. Im constantly going back between CM10 and Diet ICS/kyanROm. I simply dont have good battery life with ICS roms, but with CM10, its a day and night difference in terms of battery consumption. Only downside to Cm10 is that there is no access to netflix just yet.
But Cm10 is a work in progress (WIP), so it will get better, as it already has, in due time.
still prefer the pure bean!

the difference in performance alone when you drop touchwiz is enough for me to deal with that stuff
i did kind of get used to s-voice, but it made the home button laggy and couldnt be bound to another gesture

I cant wait for this to leak for our phones. I have always hated touch wiz. But I have to admit, I don't mind it on the s3. From the looks of that video it looks like a good mash up.
Google now was featured. And it seems there are some problems with the build, at least if the thread on xda is any indication. Good to see Samsung is working on it though!

Same here. I used to hate TouchWiz, but the one on SGS3 is pretty bearable and very smooth.
This JB leak is definitely welcome. Let's just remove that S voice and start using Google Now.
If someone can just port the camera app onto CM10, it will be golden.
I haven't had a chance to try most of them but so far I like paranoid android 2.52. I gave 2.99 a go but its still quite new so will wait a while before updating permanently and just 'check in' once in a while, so to speak, to see if its been made as stable as 2.54... Am very much lookin forward to being able to use 2.99 as my daily.
Am curious as to the difference between the roms for the GT-I9300 and SGH-T999... Does the T999 have anything the I9300 doesnt?

Before people grab this and start running off with it and running their mouths about bugs there are a few things that should be realized.
1. 0xD34D has posted on XDA before and there is no reason to think he won't this time around.
2. This seems to be a sort of alpha or beta based on the build number.
3. If you need stability don't flash random roms without realizing things like alpha, nightly, milestone, etc. Stick to [STABLE] roms.
Carry on and have a nice day... :good:

So far, so good. Had a little glitch with the theme manager, though. It defaulted to Jellybean colors but I prefer those anyways. Definitely let it settle before customizing. What is currently considered the best 4.2 ROM in terms of features and stability? I'm looking for something in which I will not lose any functionality going from 4.1 (which I'm currently on) to 4.2. I tried checking out all the ASOP ROM threads, but it's a little difficult to get a feeling for what's working and what's not right now..
Thanks for the help. The main reason I'm looking to upgrade up to ASOP/4.2 is for Google Music All Access
In my opinion, Vanilla Root box is the best. It has features from CM10.1, AOKP and Paranoid Android.

Do you experience any issues with it? I was actually about to get that last night but decided against it because I couldn't find some more details about it. Thanks for the response btw.
Spleef's AOKP is fantastic. No real issues at all that I've found and it runs lighting fast.

AOKP or Rootbox are the best at the moment, imo. Ran these the most and had minimal issues.
Rootbox or EOS
Really though, they are all quite stable and I encountered very few issues with any.
If Camera is important to you, however, my experience is that you should stick with something like Lifeless or a Stock ROM.

I agree with the camera part. I'm running beanstalk and it seems just as good as any other aosp ROM I've tried. However they all have the same camera problems. Even with the camera script it just isn't as fast and seems like the focus isn't quite right. Lifeless with epics camera mod is solid for taking great photos. I always keep a lifeless backup just for that reason.

Funny... I was just thinking the same thing. That you as a senior member should know what xda is about and that posting useless comments like the ones you've posted are the ones that get threads closed and not asking about others' opinions and experiences with ROMs they have used. So please allow someone to answer my question so we can possibly get some ROM discussion going and learn from each others' experiences.

Oh and EVERYTHING works! Cam, video, wifif, gps, LTE
its only 4.1.2 but its still good!

Well I've had Vanilla Rootbox on for about a day and have had a couple of issues with it. Like I was rebooting my phone and after it shut off it didn't want to power up again
It took like 5 minutes for my phone to power on again... I was so scared... Then I had some issues trying to place a call. The call would not go through. Had to reboot and again it took a while before I could power it on...
I'll give this a couple more days... if issues continue I'll have to try another ROM.

What you like about jelly Beer?
I had to ditch Rootbox cuz it was too inconsistent. I'd try to make calls and they'd just hang up, people would get multiple of the same text messages, and I could not hang up at times. I'd push the end button and it would hang up until the person on the other line would.
I'm currently on Beanstalk. So far haven't encountered any issues other than the occasional screen flicker and that the gps won't lock. I love the Darkstalk option too!
