[Q] suggestions for sense cam replacement in aosp - HTC One X

The one thing keeping me on a sense rom at present is the lack of a camera app that is anywhere near the HTC stock One.
Really want to make the switch to jellybean and was looking for a few suggestions. Ucam seemed good until I realised you can't stop it beeping and it doesn't use the stock gallery. I have purchased camera360 in the past as well as camera fx but none of the seem quite as easy or fast. By the way I'm fully aware sense cam can't work on aosp.

Currently running CM 10 preview with JB and also missing the camera app.
I tried a couple(mainly to get the hold for multi shot functionality) but they were a little poor.
Pudding Camera - worked ok but not as good.
Fast Burst Camera - very fast burst mode but really poor quality.
Camera Magic - not that good

I found camera mx to be the best. Make sure you update it though to get video recording.

Camera 360 Ultimate is pretty cool though I find the stock HTC camera application is still better.
I'm looking for alternatives so I can use cm7 with a good camera app

I also use Vignette.
best cam app.
Best camera application ever is pudding camera it has great effects , you can download it from android market
I use camera360 mostly for HDR image, vignette for normal shot..
I was wondering if it is really possible to create those kind of pictures included in the gallery of Desire HD using the default camera app?

A Good Camera App

Hey guys,
So as you probably know, Sense has one of the best camera apps known to mankind, but I'm running CM10 at the moment, so no sense camera due an AOSP framework. So people, let me know, are there any good camera replacements for the AOSP camera app? Preferably ones that allow you to view in full screen (like sense), and yeah, it must be free, and must not take long to launch, like apps like "camera."
Filters and effects are preferred, but not necessary, really appreciate it, thanks

I use camera360, I have set the resolution to second last option in the app which clicks full screen 16:9 pics. You can apply many filters and frames too. I cannot let sense camera stop me from being experiencing the awesomeness and speed of jellybean

Ok, camera 360 is good, but has a splash screen. The fx camera is epic, and has no splash screen, but doesn't record video, like camera360,and has an annoying screen at startup, can't we get rid of it? Thanks

The splash screen is no harm actually. For quick shots you can launch default camera.

Camera 360 is good when you're on an AOSP ROM.
I shifted back to MIUI yesterday and immediately went to install the mod for the Sense Camera. Higher bitrate for video recording and picture taking.

If you liked the stock camera, could be good?

[Q] Camera on CM10

I'm trying to figure out which to go with, the EVOLTE or the SGSIII. I saw in some discussions that the EVOLTE camera on CM10 was able to get some improve camera source code. How is the camera quality on the SGS3 using CM10? Is it just the standard stock camera, or has it been enhanced to get more of the stock camera quality?
cheers
Idk on cm 10 but the stock touch wiz camera takes pretty good pictures and i would upload one but xda app limits size like crazy

Gr8 camera apps from Lenovo flagship set. Try once and see the difference

I take no credits for this app/mod. Found a camera app from lenovo flagship set while searching on xperia z forum which worked perfectly on our device. Takes sharper image than our stock camera and less noise with super gallery.

MOD Edit: Link removed

EDIT: Opens in Sense 5, shoot a picture and it locks up, picture corrupted and unviewable.

Works very well on the One X.
The shots taken are significantly less noisy than ones taken with CameraZoomFX and MUCH better than those taken with the ****TY aosp camera.
Lots of cool settings as well such as low light and HDR.
Overall, love it! This will now be my camera app from now on.
Thanks for making us aware of this.

I'll give this a go. Thx for the heads-up! Will take a closer look tomorrow, but at first glance I noticed 5MP is the highest available setting...

Me too. Could it be because I'm using the zero-compression camera driver, or does that have nothing to do with it? I'm on Sense 5, btw.
As a side note, I installed it on my wife's Xperia S, and she can choose up to the maximum 12 MP that the camera offers.

i using stock sense 5 rom...
this app is made for intel SoC based phones therefore there are then some issues like heating because of wrong use of cpu or other things like some laggy things or this camera resolution issue...this app has some nice features but those are also in other camera apps which aren't overheating or lagging
make phone go *hot* and laggy with fish eye + stuck on brust mod.
Phone hangs after a HDR photo taken.
MaximusHD 21.1.0
No issues with MagioROM here..just a little bit confused with the menus and need more time to explore the settings..
But overall qualiity is nice..just 5MP quality to choose, but that's ok for me..
Does work fine on the latest InsertCoin Sense 5 but its very laggy!

Not that laggy for me. It appears that 5MP is the max under Sense, but I can use the full 8MP in AOSP based roms.

Can anyone recommend a camera app?

Okay so I started using the stock ROM but then I moved over to cyanogen for a little while only to find out that the camera in cyanogen was really bad so I move back to stock and I'm not saying I regret the decision but I really would love to go back to cyanogen so I was wondering if anyone might know of a camera app that is comparable to the stock app for this device any help would be appreciated!

yes I was using focal but i cannot have a buggy camera. im a photographer and I use my phone a lot for scouting for shoots rather than carrying around my main gear. need something that will replace the cm10 sh*t camera with good features and functionality as the stock camera on the s4.
ProCapture!
There's an .apk for the Google Edition camera over in the Themes/Apps section. I use it alongside the stock camera and it's every bit as good I think.

I disagree with the assessment that AOSP camera is sh*t. Kudos to the developers - it's pretty fast and very, very usable, and the swipe to gallery is great (haven't seen that in any other party camera app). I'm picky about the camera.
That said, if you're set to find a 3rd party camera, then look at Camera FV-5.
Compared to all the other apps listed on this thread, it's superior with basic camera features missing in the other apps, such as focus mode, manual ISO, exposure compensation, exposure bracketing, grid layovers, etc. No gimmicky filters or effects like the others listed here. It makes a decent 'manual' camera out of the limited capability that the phone comes to begin with. It shows the 'life' shutter speed. Its auto ISO has a bias to go higher ISO than AOSP camera - up to 2000, so it may guard against shake but at the expense of grainier pics in the darker settings, but these phones aren't meant for that anyway. ProCapture is the closest to FV-5, but not as good for manual settings (i.e., after you set the exposure compensation on ProCapture, you won't see the value explicitly shown, so that could trip you). The one thing about FV-5 is it has a tad slower startup than the stock AOSP camera.
Updating my recommendation to either "A Better Camera" or Lenovo Super Camera.
