I was wondering if there were a Cyanogen-based ROM for the Desire HD that sports a Camera from HTC Sense as I find that it takes photos a lot better, especially with the touch focus, than the CM 7 camera that I am currently using.I just highly dislike HTC Sense, feels really bloated, but I love the Camera.
If somebody could point me towards the proper direction, it will be greatly appreciated, thanks

I suggest using the Vignette app

I recommend Camera 360 or Vignette . Far better than sense camera.

Just use both for a while and choose the one you liked best.
Personally, I stay with the stock camera, but camera 360 has more options.
Sense cam is much better then camera360
Sense cam is better (for me)
Have u all used new version of camera 360 because it has lot of option and quality improvent from previous version.....i am using v 2.2.............and i used widescreen in both the app......in stock camera the picture clicked is of 1.45mb where as picture clicked through camera 360 is of 4.25 mb.......does it make any differnce......

Check the resolution's of both of those pictures then you can get to know which is better...generally pic's with high resolution are of higher mb.
Higher resolution=crispper picture .
HDR is the only advantage i feel that is there on camera 360 but that is available in the new sense 3.0 cam app , also you get panaroma mode aswell

Higher MB don't neccessarily mean higher resolution. It could mean lower compression for the jpegs that could be mistaken for higher quality (actually postprocessing of the picture from the sensor plays part in the quality before any compression).
I might be wrong but HDR on Camera360 is not HDR at all. To make proper HDR pictures you have to take several photos at different exposures and combine them to increase the dynamic range. What you get with Camera360 is a HDR-like effect that has nothing to do with actual HDR picture. In the camera API there is a control for the exposure setting and it can be used to automaticaly take three or more pictures at different settings then combine them with a HDR algorithm but so far I haven't found any software that does this (not that I've searched that hard anyway)
On topic: I've tried Camera360 but found it useless and I'm using the stock camera app when I don't have my DSLR with me.
HEy friends thanks for all your guidance......but u all are talking about sense 3.0 cam for htc desire hd.....i am having sense 2.0 in my htc desire hd ....i am having stock android gingerbread......can i have sense 3.0 cam on my stock rom......if yes than can you please guide me......i have tried htc evo sense 3.0 cam but it is getting force close.....

Well if u are rooted.. install any of the great roms posted here on XDA ..some of them have sense 2.0 cam by default...or u can try pushing 3.0 sense camera(search for the apk) through adb to system...if you dont know how to do it.. then read a bit..u will know..
I am using CM7 and I would like to use another camera app as the stock one is not able to save direct to my external ds card...
Any recommendations ?

Camera 360
Yep, Camera 360 is the best
miui camera if you dont need fancy effects
Camera360 is a great choice.
I have used pretty much all of them and have finally stuck with vignette as it produces slightly better low light images than the rest IMO.

The one thing keeping me on a sense rom at present is the lack of a camera app that is anywhere near the HTC stock One.
Really want to make the switch to jellybean and was looking for a few suggestions. Ucam seemed good until I realised you can't stop it beeping and it doesn't use the stock gallery. I have purchased camera360 in the past as well as camera fx but none of the seem quite as easy or fast. By the way I'm fully aware sense cam can't work on aosp.

Currently running CM 10 preview with JB and also missing the camera app.
I tried a couple(mainly to get the hold for multi shot functionality) but they were a little poor.
Pudding Camera - worked ok but not as good.
Fast Burst Camera - very fast burst mode but really poor quality.
Camera Magic - not that good
I found camera mx to be the best. Make sure you update it though to get video recording.

Hey guys,
So as you probably know, Sense has one of the best camera apps known to mankind, but I'm running CM10 at the moment, so no sense camera due an AOSP framework. So people, let me know, are there any good camera replacements for the AOSP camera app? Preferably ones that allow you to view in full screen (like sense), and yeah, it must be free, and must not take long to launch, like apps like "camera."
Filters and effects are preferred, but not necessary, really appreciate it, thanks

I use camera360, I have set the resolution to second last option in the app which clicks full screen 16:9 pics. You can apply many filters and frames too. I cannot let sense camera stop me from being experiencing the awesomeness and speed of jellybean

Ok, camera 360 is good, but has a splash screen. The fx camera is epic, and has no splash screen, but doesn't record video, like camera360,and has an annoying screen at startup, can't we get rid of it? Thanks

The splash screen is no harm actually. For quick shots you can launch default camera.

Camera 360 is good when you're on an AOSP ROM.
I shifted back to MIUI yesterday and immediately went to install the mod for the Sense Camera. Higher bitrate for video recording and picture taking.

That cam is sense camera only, miui jb builds do not have such mod and this discussion is to find out an alternative for the camera app in cm9/cm10 based roms

Try that, its an "improved" version of the stock ICS camera?
If you liked the stock camera, could be good?
