Would it be possible to use the secmms.apk taken from the Galaxy S3 and port it over to our Nexus?
My girlfriend has just got a S3 this weekend and I do like the layout/theme of her MMS/Messaging app -
I have just got GO SMS Pro for my nexus but it's bloated and still doesn't look as good as the stock ICS SG3 MMS.
I would even pay for someone to do it

So I currently own a galaxy nexus but after playing around with the S3 in stores, I'm really sold on it. However, I do not want to pay the unlocked price for this device. Currently my Gnex is rooted and unlocked but since I have factory images, I can relock my phone and flash the images and I will technically be back under warranty. I talked to a verizon rep about a screen issue on my Gnex and they are prepared to give me a brand new Gnex to trade for my older one. My question is, is it possible that I can convince them to give me a galaxy s3 instead since I paid 300 for my nexus?

S3 is still considered a top-tier hero device, they won't give it to you until its older.
I just gave my Galaxy S3 to my girlfriend and went back to my GNexus.
So much happier on stock clean Android 4.1.1.
I don't even think most apps are/will be optimized for quad cores etc until the next Nexus. Only thing this phone really needs is micro SD support, otherwise its still a better choice over the GS3 IMO

I'm proud of you ^^.
I try S3 and even if it's a powerful phone I would never let my Galaxy Nexus
Yeah I'm glad you guys like the Gnex.. I do too. It's my first android device and it's rooted and rom'd. It's just that the screen and the battery are killing me and I'm willing to sacrifice the speed for it. I dont mind touchwiz anyways. The point is, does anyone have any knowledge about Verizon's policies about this kind of thing?
I've currently got the Nexus but it's extremely difficult for me to get any work done with this calendar. I need the TouchWiz calendar that admittedly looks ugly but has much improved functionality.
I've even thought about selling my brand new Nexus just to go to the Galaxy S3 so I can have the TouchWiz calendar.
Any ideas?
Could someone get me it? Want really bad ,thanks.
This is probably your best bet, I have flashed this before and its pretty cool you get the look and feel of the S3, it has all the icons themed and you get the widgets and apps that come with the S3, just back up before you flash in case you don't like it

Okay so my friend got the verizon galaxy s4 the other day and i have the At&t galaxy sIII... I was wondering if there was a way for me to get certain features that his phone has. Such as quick glance and multiple lock screens or multiview. I was also wondering if there were any features that can be used with our devices such as s beam or group play. Are there any unique things for samsung devices? Oh and will the At&t Galaxy sIII receive the 4.2.2 update?
No, and probably not...

There are some custom ROMS with multiview and other stuff. Aside from that, don't get your hopes up unless both Samsung and your carrier decide to give you new features via update. As far as Samsung devices and unique...well, that is like asking if Ford has anything unique. Some parts and engine designs are unique to Ford while other things may be more generic.
AT&T to 4.2.2...you will never know until it is released most likely and that is assuming AT&T releases a 4.2.2 update. They are very good about not giving out this kind of information.

Many custom ROMs have multi view, s beam, and include group play. Biggest thing you won't see are things like air gesture and some of the more advanced eye tracking features. Mostly gimmicky IMHO.

So I just got a galaxy s3, previous I've used a galaxy s2. Now the galaxy s2 has T-memos on it while the S3 has S-memos, my question is how can I transfer my notes from one device to the other?
I tried using Kies and I managed to get my contacts transferred over but the memos I can't probably due to the fact one is T-memos while the other is S-memos.
Neither phone is rooted by the way.

I did a memo transfer for my wife's S2 skyrocket t-memo->S4 s-memo a while back and I *think* on the S2 there's an export function somewhere. Export each memo it to google drive/dropbox/etc and then import it on the S3. Kind of klunky, but at least the memos are transferred.
