Got my HOX recently and I noticed I can't embedded videos properly. Tried a couple other browsers with similar results.
It was perfectly possible on a galaxy Note, the phone I had/have before.
Look at the video I just made and see yourself the huge difference!

Hi,
I´ve been toying with the idea of getting the One X and I´m wondering if there are any previous Samsung Galaxy users here. I´ve had the GS1 and presently I have the GS2. I watch A LOT of video with it, so the display and multimedia capabilities are a huge deal for me. The GS2 does stellar on both. It plays any formart/codec you may throw at it natively (no need for special players) and there is no need to go on about its´ the mind blowing gorgeous super amoled screen.
Other than these 2 major concerns I´m wondering if you can really notice the benefits of the quad core processor on day to day activities. I´ve watched several benchmarks where the GS2 was not far behind.
I just came from the gs2.
The gs2 has nothing on the one x, different class.

I came from the 2 and this is much better. Black is black enough without sacrificing other colors. Feel free to compare this with the 3 when it comes but I believe this will beat it if you want accurate colors, and not just darker black.
Thanks, guys. How does it fare format / codec wise?
It plays my flac in the HTC music app but I havent plugged in my sennheisers yet. It's supposed to sound better than the 2 even with beats off. Mkv is same as any other phone...it won't play bluray quality.
Came from the Nexus and the One X pisses all over it. Can't say on codecs as I don't listen to music or watch video on my mobile phone but as a phone it's infinitely better than anything Samsung make
just to add to that audio sound is way much better than i had on my s2. video quality top notch. All round phone as a media experience is gorgeous..good phone and good investment to get
Sold off my galaxy note for this beauty..this is just a different experience altogether in every department..simply blows Sammy away

ok to answer the question about video, the built in codecs are lacking. the specs say it will play divx etc but for some reason it wont play these if they are in avi container.
h264 plays fine.
when you go into the gallery it will give you the option to use another player if the internal one wont work, if you select "always use this player" on the chosen app the videos will play seemlessly in the chosen app.
players like mobo player, dice, rockplayer, etc will sort that out for you easy enough.
i have the galaxy tab as well and that plays everything i throw at it with the internal player.
the one x has a much better screen, if you watch the same movie side by side (which i was able to do in carphone warehouse and a utube clip) you will see how much better and faster it is over the s2.
the s3 maybe a different matter though, time will tell
I come from the Galaxy S, S Plus and S2. Don't see myself going back to Samsung anytime soon. Friend of mine went to the Galaxy Nexus and I've successfully made him regret this decision.
I´ve been reading more and more about the ONE X and it does look like an amazing phone. 2 more doubts:
- How do you guys stick a regular SIM card on the ONE X?
- There are a lot of reviews complaining about the battery life...is this substantiated?

one you need to get either from your carrier a micro sim like the iphone has or watch youtube videos on how to resize it yourself..best get your carrier to send you a new one they should not charge you for it.
two battery life has been ok for me. will get better with custom kernels but for now i can go a day without charging my phone so i am happy.
overall i would say go for this phone but hold off till tomorrow and see what the s3 is like and compare
Yes, I was planing on waiting for the GS3 tomorrow....although I´m thinking it will probably cost around us$800.

Hello, I am thinking of buying the Galaxy Nexus from the Play Store, but I have a question for you guys, I remember when this phone was released, there was a multitouch issue while playing some games. I play a few games that require multitouch and would be supremely annoyed if I have this issue. So my question is the problem still present, or has it been fixed, being that there has been a few updates for this phone. Right now I have a white Galaxy S2, I like it, but want the galaxy nexus now.
I noticed it before.
On a couple of occasions. A reboot would fix the problem...and it only plagued me maybe three times.
BUT.
I haven't noticed it in quite some time...
And when another thread about the issues was posted a couple of users seemed to think (and I'm prone to agree) that 4.0.4 fixed the issue.
Hi all,
Having seen the videos of the Note 2 in action and read loads of reviews singing it's praises i'm almost convinced that it's time for me to part ways with my iPhone 4S and try something different (and better hopefully). So I decided to have a play with the display model in my local O2 store. Annoyingly just swiping between screens seemed quite jittery and slow and I was quite worried by that. Giving the benefit of the doubt I tried another Note 2 but this time in the Three store and that one was as silky smooth as i'd hoped. Does anyone know what O2 have done to theirs to make it feel so bad? Or does it normally still run smoothly even with tons of applications installed? And has anyone else come from an iPhone and have any tips for a smooth transition?
Thanks
No idea what O2 might have done to make their display device run so badly.
I've got a T Mobile Note 2 and it's super smooth - zero jitter or lag and I have quite a few apps installed. Even when running in multi-screen mode with two apps simultaneously displayed it is still 100% responsive
The devices in stores are usually left on for days, are plugged in all the time and have a load of crap installed to it. Not to mention the introduction videos that are constantly playing on them.
Next time you go in a store; give them a reboot

Thanks for reassurance. I'll be grabbing a Note 2 and hopefully it'll live up to my expectations.
I can confirm that O2 firmware on the Note 2 is freaking horrendous. What were they THINKING?! It is indeed slow and jerky. Even the splash screen is an abomination. And why make it so you have a big ugly notification if NFC is on?
I had to go back to it for a whole day from stock as I was returning the handset for a replacement in titanium grey and t almost put me off the phone.
Thank God for the XDA community and the ready availability of stock ROMs.
If anyone out there from the O2 Screwingwithperfectlygoodhandsets Department is listening.....just STOP it. We don't want your crummy little splash screen or a wallpaper with the O2 Arena on it. AND WE CERTAINLY DON'T WANT YOUR SLOW ROMS.
Will admit I only lived with the O2 ROM for about 24 hours before flashing stock, but I didn't notice it being particularly jerky during that time. NFC icon though, you're quite right.
+1 I actually put new rom on within 2hours. Didn't bothered with branded
Recently I checked out the options G in ATT store and the stock videos on that phone looked amazing. Screen looked much better than note 3 screen. Does anyone know where I can gat the videos that come on the phone as samples?
Thanks.
Hello all,
I have seen multiple treads about a slower WiFi speed on the note10+ and never felt my device was affected by it.
Recently I started watching more and more video's on my note 10+ and I cannot watch a video without being interrupted several times as the connection is slow. Initially I thought it was youtube Vanced but I face the same issues when watching you tube through my web browser(firefox). This experience is made on our home network while being in the same room as the WiFi router. I even have tried to watch video's via the hotspot provided from my Mate 30Pro with the same result.
Then I decided to watch you tube via the webbrowser on my Mate 30pro and on this phone I could watch video's without being interrupted, further they pre-loaded the video much longer than the Note 10+ ever does.
I noticed since a long time that updating apps via google play goes much quicker on the Mate 30 pro than on any of my Samsung devices for which I don't have any explanation for. I have noticed this on my previous Huawei devices going from a Mate 9, 10, 20Pro to the current Mate 30pro. They are lighting fast to download and update apps while the Samsung devices Note 9 and Note 10+ are much slower. I performed speed tests on both devices using the same website over and over again and every time the Note 10 is slower than the Mate30Pro.
Is there anything I can do to solve this issue, I prefer watching video's on the Note as it has a slightly bigger screen.
Have cleared the cache on the note without any improvement.
Any tips are welcom!
I have noticed the same but ONLY with youtube vanced, and specially when away from the modem, otherwise, wifi is excellent always

I have reinstalled Youtube Vanced from scratch and it has improved, at least I can watch video's now without being interrupted while re-loading in the middle of a video. Fact is that WIFI is slower on my Note 10+ compared to the Mate 30Pro and the Mate 20Pro from my wife under the same circumstances and in the same room.
If not for the slower WIFI and the lack of low light camera qualities I would use my Note 10+ as my daily driver over my Mate 30Pro. For the rest the Note 10+ rocks!

Which version do you guys have? Exynos? SD? What build are you on?

I have an Exynos, for me, the issue with Vanced has been since always, although the newest vesion has less hiccups, but in my note 8 it happened even worse

Exynos Note 10+ Android 10 with October security patch, Vanced is 15.40.37 and micro G is 0.213.203916
Having the latest vanced version I am still struggling with a slow wifi resulting that often I cannot watch an entire video without having to wait to reload it. While the Note 10+ is trying to reload the video my Mate 30Pro picks it up and preload the whole video while watching being on the same network under the same circumstances. I am so disappointed in the Note10+ I am considering getting rid of it.
Been looking on the internet but besides finding a lot of people having the same issues there seems no solution.
I hadn't feel any wifi problems until last system update (security patch November). Since then, the problems are constant and, most of the time, openning wifi settings, they change from no connection to connected!
Since One UI 2,5 I have wifi speed oscillations and complete stop of download or YouTube video buffering. I've flashed One UI 3/Android 11 Beta yesterday and the same thing is happening with wifi and I don't think Samsung cares much about it, I've talked with Samsung Members tech support and the same on Samsung website chat, all I've got is automatic generated reply how they will look into it - which means I'll have to live with this till I sell the phone or throw it away. Just to note that I have P10 and Acer laptop on the same wifi network and have no similar problems, no problems at all with internet speed.
