Use the Options>About Messenger>Report A Problem menu to report this to yahoo if you want it to be fixed.
Sorry, not what you expected but the only way
The more we are that report the issue the sooner it will get fixed, probably not by the time it's officially launched but it's worth the try.
Mention that you can't switch to the front facing camera but that the one on the back works.
Don't forget to specify device and OS version.
Maybe it's worth linking the original post in the Evo 4G section, which also includes download links.
Fyi, it's a version of Y! Messenger supporting Android to PC videocall
yup, got it myself from there. Hope we manage to bring this to yahoo's attention because once the app is released they really are slow to update...
yahoo messenger - front facing camera doesn't work
I just discovered the same problem on my Galaxy S 4G. I am able to make video chat calls from my PC to my phone, but the phone only uses the back facing camera. Also, the sound quality is horrible! Lots of static. In its current state, the software is useless. I hope-hope-hope that Skype will enable video chat calling on Android the way they have on the iPhone - Yahoo Messenger for Android is just a beta program that needs a lot of fixing.
Back to trying Tango for now to make mobile to mobile cross-platform calls. So far, there is no software that works across all platforms for video calling. Skype! Can you hear me...?
videochat working on 2.3.4 version
Videochat is working in Google Talk.. update your android version into 2.3.4 and finally your front facing will be used.. tested and 100% working on my Mytouch 4G

Hi,
Is there an App that does video calling from phone to PC using the front facing camera on GT-I9000b?
I've searched quite a bit for it, but so far it seems that only tango uses the front facing cam.
Thanks!

Hello carlosrjbr,
I'm not sure, but you might take a look at Fring. Heard some rumors you could videochat when you are signed into WLM.
And on other forums I saw that it might not be available yet, as it isn't available for other platforms also (iOS, iPhone 3/4).
Hope you find this information usefull.
Sincerely yours,

Mac has facetime.
Try ooVoo that might work
Yeah, I tried ooVoo... unfortunately it doesnt support the front cam in the i9000b...
I guess I'm out of luck then, I'll try to contact ooVoo support to see if they can resolve the camera issue.
Thanks for the replies!

Hy
Im using Fring for quite a bit and works like a charm with front camera. Works on wifi and hsdpa/hsupa networks. Phone to phone and phone to pc.
DroidcamX works like a charm.
Fring has a camera issue with only the international versions of the Galaxy S. Btw, how do you do fring to pc?
I'll test the one mentioned above... Thanks guys

yeah i been tring a few vid apps and tango seem the best. I was able to chat with my aunt in alberta on her iphone using my SGS from ontario. I dont like fring because you have to register and its a pain.
I wish it was just as easy as apples facetime and not resort to 3rd party apps or if we can get skype video calls.
Dumb question can you make video calls from android to android devices without 3rd party apps? Like SGS to SGS or SGS to Desire etc

If your carrier supports it you can do a video call to any phone with video calling support including Nokias dating back several years.
Just choose "video call" instead of call when you select a contact or use the video call icon in the dialler.
well when ever i try that it says video call failed. Well this is calling to an iphone 4 so its not a prefect test.
Iphone 4 doesn't support videocall :/
then explain why i was chatting with my aunts iphone 4 using tango yesterday
The iPhone 4 only supports video calling through use of wi-fi or 3G (in some cases). The actual old school network video call is not supported by the iphone.
So you can use tango, skype or facetime (with another iphone), but you can't use the video call from the dialer when using it with an iphone.

skype recently released a new version of skype for video calling on android phones (Nexus S, Desire S, Xperia Neo and Xperia Pro). is there any way we could make the video feature work on our xperia arc's back cam? i installed it but currently theres no option to do video.
no replies yet.
anyway : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1148708
download skype from here. install on xperia arc. and start with an audio call and then enable video. never start with a video call or the fone will be stuck in landscape.
p.s the video call quality is very goood
Arc does not have a secondary cam maybe Skype software might look for it. That's why it doesn't load the video.
it works. after the video call starts, click the camera button and select back cam.

what setting do you use?
Can't seem to figure this out. When I use the front facing camera to record a video, and upload it onto the computer. There is no picture, only sound. This only happens with the front facing camera. Any idea on how to fix this? The video plays fine on the phone, but once it's on the computer no picture, just sound.
thanks for any help !

I used to use a tool called G-Spot to work out if I had the right codecs installed, it gives you loads of info about the file.
Careful how you search for it though!

But what is the difference in the front and back camera? Both MP4 files, so I don't know why the front camera videos wont play correctly. But I will try new codecs thank you
Hey guys .. hope everyone is doing well
my HTC ONE X is working on the firmware 4.2.2 / HTC sense 5.0 and it is NOT rooted (unfortunately :l)
anyways.. my 2 issues are the Following:
1- Emoji don't show up when I use them for example on snapchat, notes, twitter .etc..etc ... they actually show up as BLACK kind of emojis !
2- whenever I'm recording a video on Snapchat, the volume is really low and thus goes the feature of video recording on snap. I've read a similar issue here but I couldn't find a solution YET.
Thnx for ur TIME :good:

Have you checked your media volume?

Yes.. it is working great except when RECORDING a snapchat.
but I receive good volume snaps ..
I read that since htc one x has 2 mics, one for the SOUND isolation and the other is the receptor and I think the earlier is the one that's working on snapchat !
