And if so with what rom, will it work with jellybean?

It works with an otg USB adapter, any rom using kernel 3.0.x

Could i have a link that shows which bluetooth dongle works for you?
Sent from my DROID2 GLOBAL using xda app-developers app
So I keep reading, a lot, that otg and dongle work, but then nobody shows how or what brand...
Does it work or are all of these posts saying its works just repeating what they have read?
[I really dont think people should be posting answers in an FAQ if they are just repeating others words]
I have looked and looked and I can not find anything beyond the same reply: "OTG cable and dongle"
If someone can share a link/thread that shows actual success with a Bluetooth dongle and results that would be great!
Thanks!

It doesn't work, there's no driver support in any Kf ROM for any type of Bluetooth dongle.
These posters have all read it doesn't work, they just refuse to believe it.
I have heard that people have claimed success with dongle

I said that the only way it will work is with an otg cable and a Bluetooth dongle. You still do need drivers for it to work.

People are getting confused here, and that's understandable.
Before Bluetooth was around and usable on PCs, you used to be able to buy keyboards with an adapter that would sit in the USB port. They would only work with that specific keyboard and nothing else. They were proprietary and use the standard USB drivers apparently - Which is why the guy who is using the dongle and keyboard in the video is able to do so.
Bluetooth on the other hand is totally different, and while you need the dongle, you also need the drivers. But I think we've come far enough that no one is going to write them.

I believe USB OTG is not supported in 4.0.1. Maybe in .2 definitely in .3.

It supported in point 2 except for data. Stickmount comes in handy for that. And rtfm on chainfires app and website would've explained all this if op rtfm.

Lol. You need to ota or manually flash. 4.0.2 and then you're good to go with chainfires and flash drives. Everything else should work if compatible. Read the ****ing manual. Chainfires had disclaimers everywhere and links to his website that otg will only work for.2 and above and his app was needed for now for flash drives. Rtfm is your friend.

If you turn off the screen, the screen doesn't show up on the TV or monitor. Either way, you have to have you phone plugged in to use the adapter anyway (At least the Samsung one makes you have it plugged in)
Yeah. "Extended" screens not allowed? Maybe the hardware only allows for duplicating screen.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Yeah its a drag because i dont even need the sceen to imput commands since i use a ps3 controler to control it.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Every HDMI output I've seen does this. Even on my G2x with a dedicated HDMI port. My Asus Transformer does this too. Kinda sucks on battery. Not only are you running a PSx emulator, running a bluetooth controller, using MHL, but also forced to run with the screen on chomping up the battery.
I guess it is just the way they are wired up.
Just upgraded to official ICS and can't get mirroring to work. Has anyone tried it? If you've gotten it to work, could you share how you did. Thanks guys.

Displaying on your TV screen exactly what is displaying on your phone. It requires the use of an adapter.
Exactly. Has anyone tried to use it since upgrading to ics? I use it a lot and it seems to only work on gingerbread. Thanks.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Confirmed not working for me as well, running this rom. I'd been running CM9 for a month or so and was hoping that going back to a stock(ish) rom would restore this functionality, but I'm optimistic that it'll be patched soon. I've used my MHL adapter maybe 5 times at most so it's not any kind of deal breaker, but I'd still like to use it!

Yep. Was working with adapter on gingerbread but not on ics.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
Yes it is working on ICS Touchwiz based roms, I tried it on blu Kuban and wicked sensation. I was using it the other day to watch the hangover 2. I know the mhl adaptor doesn't work on AOSP roms right now. The adaptor I'm using is the Samsung MHL adaptor, that has a port for plugging in the USB charger and it's required to have it plugged in. The phone has to be charging while in use.

I have the Menotek MHL adapter and it does not work on ICS...
I get EDIDRead() errors in my Logcat and then it reverts to DVI mode (which evidently doesn't work over an HDMI cable... go figure)
I haven't tried factory reset yet, so maybe it's a data issue...
Anyone with a Menotek adapter confirm workage on stock ICS?
cheap 6$ adapter from amazon here.. been working on all tw roms since early ics leaks. doesnt work on aosp YET.. we have source so id expect it to be fixed on aosp in the near future

He wants USB Tethering. I have noticed that it is actually broken on a LOT of JB ROMs but nobody uses it or bothers to test it so it goes unnoticed. You might wanna try ICS.... I don't use USB Tethering but I have seen the problem across multiple devices on JB (excluding official JB of course)
Oops thats what happens when replying to a post when half asleep. I didn't think people still use usb thethering. Anyway right now best to buy a usb wireless adapter and use the modified wireless tether for root users. Unless someone else knows of a way to usb tether that works on jb.

USB Tether app
I use pdanet for my USB tethering needs. I am currently on TBGS3 5.0 (GB08) and tested it. It works flawlessly... the only thing is you may have to pay for the full functionality, depending on your needs. The app itself is not on the market, but if you google it you will get to there main cite, where you can download the app for your computer and, utilizing the push to phone function, can install the app on your phone. Good luck, hope this helped. :good:

Thanks for the suggestion but can't install the software on the computer Will just have to go back to carrying 2 computers.
I use usb tethering for my laptop all the time, running rooted gb08.
If you're getting an "account not authorized" message thats the carrier.
Hotel doesn't have wifi, you can't tether from mobile data...
I don't think you have any real options, unless you can get to a Mickey D's or something that offers wifi...
You're pretty much bumming bro.

I usb to my laptop because the wireless won't connect to that computer (I've tried everything with no luck) but every other device in the house will, and my phone is the only one with tethering capability. So I hop on wifi and plug and play. Unfortunately my scenario doesn't help your situation

Mmm not sure if you can do it? I know you can use a wireless P3 controller but it's because of Bluetooth.
