And also, it will not burn a hole in your pocket either :good:

depend on soc and manufacture/vendor. my allwinner a10 based tablet already have cm9 build from source. thanks to released (or maybe leaked) source code. good thing about chinese android product is as long as they using same soc (especially from chinese manufacture), they have small variation between model. so, rom from one model interchangeable to other model only with small modification. cm9 build from christian troy even support 20+ model.
the drawback off course build quality. but the price is so cheap. if it's broken i still can buy another one and still cheaper than buy something like galaxy tab.

most tweaks are applicable for all kinds of roms. you need no worry about it ^,^v personally I still love my SGY since its give me more chalenge to make it perform better. ya...its true that our development isn't as easy as the others but that gives us more chalenge and more fun. even thought it runs in slower rate, our device's development is still going on.

link of the phones?

The defy family is getting 2 more devices

The Motorola Motoluxe the bigger bother to our defy and defy+ and the little brother we already know about the defy mini somehow they are both running gingerbread but yet the defy isn't getting updated pass froyo
They better unlock our bootloader if these devices are running gingerbread then we want stable CM9 in a few months hopefully
http://www.gsmarena.com/motorola_announces_stylish_motoluxe_and_rugged_defy_mini-news-3618.php
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E7_FFtHra7c&feature=mfu_in_order&list=UL&hd=1
The MotoLuxe actually has a sexy design wish the the defy looked like that. I love where they placed the notification light.
Yup, neither has same chipset or camera. I am starting to think that there is no update due to our camera.
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
I think you might be right there u know. The Motoluxe uses a qualcomm chipset that is old and used on a lot of devices and from my research it doesn't look like it's better than the defy or defy+. They where trying to save some money there lool. On http://pdadb.net it says the recommend maximum clock speed is 800mhz but it's less then our defys which has default of 1000mhz which is underclocked to 800mhz but can overclock to 1.2 or 1.3 mhz. Hmmm..... motorola is so weird with their updates.
Sucks the motolux isn't life proof * silly Motorola is.
Sent from my MB525 using XDA App
I just brought my girlfriend the motoluxe in China...and it doesnt have google apps...
It is also slow than our defy, and not life proof.
The only thing good about the motoluxe is the looks and feel of it.
No ways of overclocking it yet or roms or CWM....damnit
Motoluxe is not at all a competition to defy .. its not life proof .. and same old processor ..

lol that was really a lame effort from moto !!! wao i guess i would buy LG x3 has a massive battery of 2000 mAH with Quadcore Nvidia Chipset , i hope the price for tht in india would be okay only unless it becomes too pricey ... had motodefy but got so irritated with its updates i ditched buying moto razr droid !!!

I smell that Defy2 will be an Atrix2 with ip67, a better battery (maybe Razr Maxx battery), smaller TFT screen (4'') and a smaller internal memory (2-4 instead of 8 GB).
We can really say that we have a very very good phone actually, Defy+ is nearly the same, Defy Mini isn't better and Motoluxe isn't "prooflife".
The sizescreen is very good (peraphs 4" could be great) ... and we have CM9 !

What is ur opinion ??

LNIB Galaxy T889 Note 2 Did I Just Get Scammed?

I won a new Galaxy Note 2 of ebay.
The description it had was a Samsung T889 T Mobile Note 2. The only problem is that several different system/speed tests indicates it has a ARMv7 quad core processor. I thought all Note 2s had which is the Exynos Quad 1.6. My speed tests are a lot slower.
Did I just get a fake? I need to two report this to Ebay if that's the case

The galaxy note 2 does use an ARMv7 processor, aka ARM Cortex-A9, aka Exynos 4 Quad, aka Exynos 4412.
Okay, didn't know that. Thank you for clarifying.
Something just doesn't seem right about it though. I got a white case, but black spen. This guy I bought it from also deals in a lot of Chinese products/toys, etc.

I've called Tmobile and Samsung -- both verified the IMEI was good but didn't know anything about the processor/memory aspect. So I took a screenshot of some CPU/RAM information. It was that infamous SMDK4x12 that doesn't tell you if it's a full quad processor or not. Plus the system storage only shows 1.72GB of RAM vs. the 2GB that I thought Tmobile T889 phones were supposed to have. Then there's the ARMv7 processor vesus the 1.6 GHz Exynos 4412 that I thought Note 2's were supposed to have.
I've attached a screenshot of what I'm trying to convey. I'm thinking this is a very, very clever clone.

No, really. Is this a good fake? The processor speeds don't match up and they don't use the same processor. I'm also not able to register the phone on Samsung. Only the IMEI has checked out which I understand can be duplicated. When I put the IMEI into www.imei.info , it comes back with an old Nokia clam shell phone.
So seriously, is this legit?
Internal storage, memory, and processor all check out. Doesn't seem fake
The exynos 4412 processor in the note 2 is an ARMv7 cpu clocked at 1.6GHz. Also the RAM is 2GB not the system storage. And you still wouldn't get the full 2GB due to part of it being reserved for the OS.
Thanks all. I was just concerned about how it came with the wrong color stylus, benchmark tests weren't as fast and not knowing about the processor. I've been scammed once on a North Face jacket that I don't want repeated! :good:

My wife and I got the Note 2's the day they came out from a corporate T Mobile store. I got titanium grey and she got white, we didn't even realize it until we got home that her I Spen was the Spen for the titanium grey phones it actually came that way from the factory. Mistakes happen if you got the phone sealed it could be the same situation my wife was in, if it was not sealed he could have possibly lost the original one and replaced replaced it and then filed to put it in the description.

Just to clarify, the Samsung Exynos 4412 Quad that powers the Galaxy Note II is based on the ARM Cortex A9 reference design. The 'ARMv7' you see refers to the instruction set of the processor.
Hopefully this article can explain things in great enough detail for you but suffice it to say that, from what we can tell, you indeed have a genuine Galaxy Note II. Congrats and enjoy!

Well for the price of a grand for example, it is difficult to complain about the hardware. I would not swap my grand for a similar Chinese knockoff which has virtually no support i.e spare parts and accessories.
Also grand can be modded thanks to people like k2wl, baloliboxer, chuto222,etc...

It's an A5 quad core chips et and adreno 200gpu..both are outdated version... Little better in cpu.. But in graphics broadcom gpu is better.. Cannot play 1080p videos.. Limited only to 720p..it's lighter version of galaxy grand in terms of touchwiz.. No multiwindow support.. Sd card is limited only upto 32Gb . grand 64gb supported... Position of sim slot is another headache.. It's dual sim slot.. Placed one on the other.. Even hardly we can find the sd card slot..

(Note3 question based on Note2 experiences) Which version should I get if I'm looking

(Note3 question based on Note2 experiences - pls forgive me if wrongly posted, haven't found Note3 forum and I'm really looking for feedback from current Note2 users)
Hi I currently have an S3 i9300 and my company requires me to install MobileIron app and encrypt the whole phone; I find this slows down my phone considerably and often times I need to wait almost a minute for my app drawer to display my apps or some 20 seconds for camera to start.
Don't know if my experience with the S3 i9300 is only because of encryption app or also my processor-ram specs combination is not powerful enough to get a smooth experience.
So I'm looking to upgrade to an Note3 but I don't know which version should I get based on which should be the faster one?
Should I get the 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 quad-core processor or a 1.9GHz Exynos Octa-core processor?
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
Both versions, Snapdragon 800 or Exynos Octa would be a dream come true for any fan of smartphones...
