The Motorola Motoluxe the bigger bother to our defy and defy+ and the little brother we already know about the defy mini somehow they are both running gingerbread but yet the defy isn't getting updated pass froyo
They better unlock our bootloader if these devices are running gingerbread then we want stable CM9 in a few months hopefully

The MotoLuxe actually has a sexy design wish the the defy looked like that. I love where they placed the notification light.
Yup, neither has same chipset or camera. I am starting to think that there is no update due to our camera.
Sent from my MB525 using Tapatalk
I think you might be right there u know. The Motoluxe uses a qualcomm chipset that is old and used on a lot of devices and from my research it doesn't look like it's better than the defy or defy+. They where trying to save some money there lool. On http://pdadb.net it says the recommend maximum clock speed is 800mhz but it's less then our defys which has default of 1000mhz which is underclocked to 800mhz but can overclock to 1.2 or 1.3 mhz. Hmmm..... motorola is so weird with their updates.
Sucks the motolux isn't life proof * silly Motorola is.

I just brought my girlfriend the motoluxe in China...and it doesnt have google apps...
It is also slow than our defy, and not life proof.
The only thing good about the motoluxe is the looks and feel of it.
No ways of overclocking it yet or roms or CWM....damnit
Motoluxe is not at all a competition to defy .. its not life proof .. and same old processor ..

I smell that Defy2 will be an Atrix2 with ip67, a better battery (maybe Razr Maxx battery), smaller TFT screen (4'') and a smaller internal memory (2-4 instead of 8 GB).
We can really say that we have a very very good phone actually, Defy+ is nearly the same, Defy Mini isn't better and Motoluxe isn't "prooflife".
The sizescreen is very good (peraphs 4" could be great) ... and we have CM9 !

I loved my Inc1... But the Inc2 is what the original should have been at launch. I only miss the red accents. Perfect size for a phone. Not gigantic and ugly like the Moto Razr Tablet and not too small like how my Inc1 feels now.

dinc1 has 512mb of ram, dinc2 has 768 i believe
as for faster processor, clock speed isnt everything. Just try out a 1.6ghz atom and compare it to a 1.6ghz i3. The snapdragon in the Dinc2 is a new chip, with a smaller architecture and better power management, with a newer GPU.
Not to be an ass, but honestly you're comparing an older phone to a newer one. The Dinc2 is an all around better phone simply because it has some more refined components in it.
As for the dev community, this phone has quite an active one. We have 2 different ICS ports (one on xda, the other on rootzwiki), countless sense roms, TSM poolparty, OMFGB, OMGB, CM7, MIUI, etc. We have nearly anything you could want running on this phone out, or in the pipeline.
This is a great device and if you're looking to get one, i'd recommend it.
100% agreed.
I started with the HTC Eris

Thing is that I owned Samsung Galaxy S2 before. It's 4.3" and dual-core as well. OK, resolution was lower and CPU clocked at 1.2 Ghz, but It can't cause that much of a difference and it lasted till evening of second day without a problem. So battery life of SXS was a shock for me.

I want a phone that is similar to the defy in physical shape and durability, but with more power and mininimum jb as stock.
Have been loooking a bit on the xperia z, but it is not very rugged and rather big . and Ideally i want to wait until BT low energy Api becomes part of android.
i would disqualify Motorola for the way they broke ics upgrade promisises.. but i cant overlook just how much beating my defy have faced without a scratch... so if they are the only maker of a phone with those traits.....

I'm not sure if we get an option to buy the Motorola phones here in India, anybody who can throw some light on this is appreciated. I have a DEFY not planning to sell.
PS: Whenever I go to these stores here in India, the seller Moto models are not available & they don't stock it. I'm aware of Motorola closing doors here, but any other ways to buy?
As I generally avoid buying Samsung products, the only two phones that I consider at the moment are:
Razr HD
Xperia Acro S
Xperia V
While I really think that the Razr I is a nice phone, there is no CM for it yet (and I have my doubts that it will ever be).
For now, I stay with the Defy because of the form factor (for me, the size is just right) and the community.
I'm in two minds whether to buy it s3 or nexus 4!

Think you'll find everything you need there.
In my opinion, the phone is perfect in terms of build quality and performance. It has quad-core processor and that Tegra 3 chipset makes it wonderfull for hardcore gaming. However, that 1800mAh battery brings all those things down. 720p display and quad-core with that battery... If you use it with 3h+ display on you will have hard time making whole day with one charge.
But don't get me wrong! The HOX is decent phone and amazing for entertainment. I just wish it could have more juice like HOX+

My mum has it. As you can probably see from the bottom. Its not all snappy i'd say, firstly, MIUI, its holding so much ram that rite now with xda, i have ony 568mb of ram free. For a device with 2 gb of ram, meh, could be better. Asphalt 8 also fails on me. It force close in a second of a starting race. About the Hongmi 1S, I'll see the price if its comparable to the Moto G in terms of everything really

talk about functionality......acer liquid s2 is another phone with good spec.
is a bit more expensive but affordable, i think it cost lesser than most flagship phones.
