Where can I buy a motherboard? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I have looked everywhere and can't find a vendor that sells the GN motherboard.

Best chances are to buy a broken GN on ebay and use that.

Any other options?

the motherboard has the serial number and everything so you cant just buy one unless you get a whole phone. i would get a faulty nexus with a broken lcd or something like biscuitownz said.

Worth buying a damaged Gnex off Craigslist

Seller said they dropped it in water. It holds a charge but will turn off shortly after being powered on. They're asking $100. Worth it or should I pass? Sounds like a hardware problem so I don't think its fixable without dishing out a lot of money.

I think you answered your own question. I'd say its definitely not worth it considering a lot of factors like how long it was in the water, what they did after they pulled it out, etc etc...
Replacing the logic board is cheaper than replacing the screen, so as long as the screen isn't cracked it shouldn't be that bad. However, you're not going to be able to easily find a replacement logic board yet. If it is well and truly broken, your best bet is to keep the screen and housing, then buy another Nexus that has a broken screen and frankenstein it together.
I'm looking for the back housing to a Verizon one, if anyone knows where I can get parts for them?

Not a good idea in my opinion!
Its like buying a used car with some issues and spending a lot of money to fix it's known bad issues then after sometime new bad issues will come up and you'll keep fixing it and so on that if u bought a new one wit would have been cheaper! Electronics are even worst!

Cars are different, though. Any issue with an engine that completely prevents it from running is not going to be traceable to any one particular part, especially if all of the parts are really old.
These phones literally have four major components that are easily replaceable, and only two of these components are going to keep the phone from being operational. If you replace both the logic board and the screen, it's practically a new phone.

Cracked my screen. LCD/digitizer or LCD only replacement?

I unfortunately cracked my galaxy nexus screen. I am still able to use touch screen functionality but i hate looking at cracks. Do I have to buy a complete LCD/digitizer combo to replace or can I just get LCD replacement? Any help would be much appreciated.

I would replace the whole combo if I were you. The glass and digitizer is so close welded together it isn't for anyone to separate and change one of those two.
I don't know if the glass is even sold separately?
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
Check out this thread, he managed to only replace the glass. However, I'd say that it's probably more difficult/finicky than replacing the entire assembly.

Fix it. How? Its soldered onto the mainboard

It only has six points of contact and would be fairly easy for someone skilled with a soldering iron. If it isn't your forte, you could probably find a local electronics shop that would do it for you for a reasonable fee.
Hey man..I read your post and I have my old nexus..it is missing the battery door and the back is scratched but screen is 10 out of 10.. I would post it to sell but I do not believe I am able to sell on here I would let it go for like 50 bucks or 40 even..

It is relatively hard if you don't know what you are doing. Need an disassembly guide. A hot air gun and a soldering station.
Oh and some flux.

yeahh I sent it in for repair and they said they could not repair it....then on top of that my note2 got stolen Friday. I'm using a old windows phone 7....its killing me
I had mine apart last night to do the USB port repair (replace the whole ribbon) and looked at the sim slot while it was apart. I am no expert, but I have replaced surface mount chips before that are much more difficult then what this repair would be. A fine tip temp control iron, some desolder braid (along with solder and flux), and it is pretty straight forward. Wouldn't need to take it apart any further then just removing the back.
If you end up wanting to get rid of it for savagehax offer, I would be interested in yours, that being it would be missing a battery back and have a defective sim slot.
Speaking of which, are you sure the sim slot is the defective piece? It'd be worth it to put a meter on there and measure continuity between the pins and solder points.
Good luck with whatever you end up doing.
I had a sim adapter in it and when I pulled it out I guess it rip some pins.....cell phone repair pros told me they could repair it they put in a new sim reader and all...

[Q] how much is my galaxy nexus worth

I literally have no idea where to ask but here, I have a white galaxy nexus (gsm) sitting in the box, its almost flawless condition, but it has a charging issue. charges when it wants to charge, and prior to that I lost the official battery so its running on a cheap eBay battery. I have no idea how much to get rid of it for? I looked on craigslist but no galaxy nexus around my area to compare. Anyone wanna help me out on what I should price it for? Or if anyone wants it here throw me a deal. IDC I just don't need it anymore. Thanks guys

Go on craigslist and sell it for 150 and even that is pushing it with the quality you described. I sold my old gnex with a cracked screen for 200
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
it might have a bad usb port. it's a pretty common problem on these phones. the replacement part is like $8 on ebay.
if you're comfortable opening up the phone, fixing the port would probably greatly increase its resale value.

Galaxy Nexus Motherboard

Tried that, only yielded an 90 dollar version or a 35 dollar version that might be fried. I'm looking for cheaper and reliable.
You won't find it sadly unless locally.
I haven't been able to find spare parts for this phone under 100$. Believe me I'm also looking.
I see by your tag you got an N4, are you trying to repair one for a friend?

Not my tag sadly,
I'm with verizon. But I bought a phone (gnex) on ebay thought the seller didn't know how to charge the thing, turned out the motherboard was fried, I got a semi good deal out of it, I just need a cheap motherboard, no storage needed xD
You can try to find a broken phone and see if the motherboard is still good.

Can't do that, the motherboard has the ESN, (From my re-search)
I already bought a broken phone off of ebay, it has a dead motherboard.
The memory chips is on the motherboard, and it's unlikely that you get it cheap, it is the brain of the device.
Beamed from my Maguro.
