I literally have no idea where to ask but here, I have a white galaxy nexus (gsm) sitting in the box, its almost flawless condition, but it has a charging issue. charges when it wants to charge, and prior to that I lost the official battery so its running on a cheap eBay battery. I have no idea how much to get rid of it for? I looked on craigslist but no galaxy nexus around my area to compare. Anyone wanna help me out on what I should price it for? Or if anyone wants it here throw me a deal. IDC I just don't need it anymore. Thanks guys

Bump? Any help?

Go on craigslist and sell it for 150 and even that is pushing it with the quality you described. I sold my old gnex with a cracked screen for 200

it might have a bad usb port. it's a pretty common problem on these phones. the replacement part is like $8 on ebay.
if you're comfortable opening up the phone, fixing the port would probably greatly increase its resale value.

Seller said they dropped it in water. It holds a charge but will turn off shortly after being powered on. They're asking $100. Worth it or should I pass? Sounds like a hardware problem so I don't think its fixable without dishing out a lot of money.

I think you answered your own question. I'd say its definitely not worth it considering a lot of factors like how long it was in the water, what they did after they pulled it out, etc etc...
Replacing the logic board is cheaper than replacing the screen, so as long as the screen isn't cracked it shouldn't be that bad. However, you're not going to be able to easily find a replacement logic board yet. If it is well and truly broken, your best bet is to keep the screen and housing, then buy another Nexus that has a broken screen and frankenstein it together.
I'm looking for the back housing to a Verizon one, if anyone knows where I can get parts for them?

Not a good idea in my opinion!
Its like buying a used car with some issues and spending a lot of money to fix it's known bad issues then after sometime new bad issues will come up and you'll keep fixing it and so on that if u bought a new one wit would have been cheaper! Electronics are even worst!

Cars are different, though. Any issue with an engine that completely prevents it from running is not going to be traceable to any one particular part, especially if all of the parts are really old.
These phones literally have four major components that are easily replaceable, and only two of these components are going to keep the phone from being operational. If you replace both the logic board and the screen, it's practically a new phone.

Take what a replacement screen costs and subtract it from what a good used one goes for.

As much as someone is willing to pay for it.

Cdma or GMS?
From a Galaxy far far away
65% of what a new one cost minus near the cost of getting the screen fixed

Used perfect ones go for like $300 or so. The screen and digitizer are one piece that costs around $200 so.. there you go.

Yeah... its not worth a whole lot. The only thing one with a broken screen is worth is other parts that someone is in need of for replacement on their own device. No one's gonna buy it to replace the screen unless they're getting super cheap parts.
Thanks guys this is helpful I'll be putting it on Craigslist pretty soon

I'm coming from an LG revolution on Verizon, ill admit it's plagued with issues. The main reason I liked it was locking in my unlimited 4g data, and it handles wifi tether somewhat well. Anyway
Seeing prices on an off contract Verizon GN ($200-300) makes me consider buying one outright to replace. Doesn't help my revolution has a crack in the glass (not screen). Are there any considerations I should make beyond what I find reading out of reviews and going by user experiences? I'm so far happy with all that I'm seeing, and the caveats aren't big for me, such as omitting Google wallet and it having a pentile display. Ill bet it's miles ahead of my revolution (plain LCD 800x480). I have the extended battery for my revolution and will most likely soon after buying a GN go for the same, but I want to also hear from the xda community. Thanks all in advance.

Get the Gnex in your life... you will probably **** your pants and sit in it for two days out of joy... I know I did.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Do it. Seriously. Its a great time to be holding a gnex.
But definitely get some form of screen protection immediately. Preferably a case of some kind, as this phone is like a wet bar of soap.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Nah. I used to use the dual incipio case, but the slimness just cannot be covered up! Just slap a screen protector and you're golden... unless you're really clumsy. But yes, get the GNex, flash Jelly Bean, and you will be convulsing on the ground struck by awesomeness (if that makes sense? )
I just got my gnex from eBay. And this phone is so awesome! I am coming from a epic touch 4g where the phone specs should be a slight wash but I am digging this phone sooooo much more

Get it as quick as you can, especially over the Revolution.

Yes, do it. I came from a Rezound and while it is a nice phone, it doesn't have the freedom and support that the Nexus has.

just traded my skyrocket for one, best decision ever...
This phone pwns!!
So much development too.
The phone is great. A few days with it and you'll wonder how you ever lived with a smaller screen.
The stock experience isn't bad, but unlocking the boot loader and rooting couldn't be easier so you'll be up and running with new Roms all the time.
I'm quite enjoying mine, but it is slick and has a tendency to want to slide out of your hand. Get a case and an extended battery.
It does get warm near the top when browsing the net but its a big deal. Anyway off to work I go, get the damn phone you'll have no regrets.

Thanks all for the support! Forgot just how free and open nexus devices are. Is there a particular extended battery and case go for? I noticed an off brand 3800mah with cover (same company also makes suitable cases) for $20, didn't look like a half bad company at least. I know batteries can be hit or miss. Also, does the (insert power control widget w/wifi tether button) trick still work for that? Atm I use wifi tether and by sheer luck it works in AP mode, vs adhoc, which I much prefer. Also any particular big pros to rooting besides jellybean? I only really rooted my revolution to remove bloat, extend battery and use wifi tether. Afaik with the nexus, there's no particular bloat being vanilla android, battery is more solid than my phone, and if that tether trick works then no root needed for that with what I'm reading.

There's so many other good ROMs to run besides Jelly Bean.

DON'T BUY SKETCHY BATTERIES!!!
Buy only genuine Samsung extended battery or from a somewhat legit company, like Mugen power.
Sketchy batteries present a high risk of breaking your phone.
Quick tip from you guys.
Is it worth to trade a S2 for a gnex?
Tks

I have not personally sold mine, however I have seen people getting up to $500 for it if it's in mint condition
However you can definitely get $400 for it easily, and at $350 it will move in 24 hours or less I'd bet.
Check craigs list and ebay to see what others are selling for.

I sold my sprint S3 for 375... Took about a week on craigslist
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Seems like everybody want to sell their s3 and get note 2. On ny craiglist there are too many offer to sell or trade.
So I am not even keeping that option.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
I'm also in NY and for me to move this quickly in mint condition it would take me selling for $350 or less with all my accessories Nd that's not happening. I'll keep my gs3 as powerful as the note 2 is it doesn't justify the money I have to spend getting it over the s3. Sadly neither does the n4.
I wonder what the next step for android will be. The sgs3 was a nice "jump" and the note 2 is a little move forward but I'm looking for a leap before I move anything.

I know the new nexus is out but I want a Samsung made phone. I assumed that google would continue selling these with a lower cost but they did not. I don't want to pay $300 for a galaxy nexus because I could get a nexus 4 for that. Do you think the galaxy nexus price will drop?

You gotta put this in Q&A.
Since I'm already here.
I got my gnex a month ago on eBay for 182.00$.
If was posted as rooted and a couple people bid on it so I had to wait it out two hours and last second bid.
I have it and its mint. No scratches. Super clean!!!.
At the moment people are going to be cheap. They are going to jack up the price so they get a N4 for free.
Try to wait a couple months or Craigslist and eBay it. But just some advice , the cheap ones will be in horrible used condition.

I think it is a good price. Considering S3 costs 669€ and imported not from Samsung Hellas about 450-500€.
