[HBOOT][RADIO] [S-OFF] [gsm] HBOOT & Radio collection - HTC Wildfire S

Edit: uploading the radio along with hboots. All the HBOOT and Radio is ripped from official RUU for EU. I have tried the latest four radios. But the older two I'm not so sure. Uploading them for experiments anyways. Let me warn you these radio and hboot flashing is far more riskier than flashing rom. Actually this is the way you can brick your phone actually.

Hi everyone, I had a lot of trouble after s-off my phone via XTC clip from a nearby shop. Just because my phone became HBOOT-0.90.0000. It has many disadvantages like U cant flash roms other than GB. So, after bricking my phone twice by flashing latest radio(every time I had to go back to that shop and he got a JTAG to fix the phone) I have found a solution. The first thing you need to do with your S-OFF device i think flash an RUU.
IF YOU WANT TO FLASH ONLY RADIO IT'S VERY RISKY. U NEED TO UPDATE HBOOT ETC. TO FLASH LATEST RADIO VERSIONS. NEW HBOOT IS NORMALLY INCLUDED IN RUU (Rom Update Utility). THIS HBOOT LOOKS COOL AS ITS SIMPLE.
Hboot 1.08.0000 => dowloadlink
My phone is A510e. S-OFF.
ENJOY.
** please rename the files to PG76IMG.zip before use and delete after flashing one at a time.

As it has to be ripped from a RUU uploaded by d33ps1x I am uploading a link for newbies like me.
Hboot 1.08.0000 dowloadlink =>PG76IMG.zip
After upgrading U can flash this RUU from this linkhttp://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1577175 and do fota update to upgrade to latest firmware and get back to HBOOT 1.08.0000. After getting back to 1.08.0000 you CAN EASILY FLASH CWM FROM BOOTLOADER AND ROOT AND EVERYTHING ELSE without going through any trouble.
My phone is A510e. S-Off.
ENJOY.

If you have S-OFF with XTC clip, you have also S-OFF in the radio which means you can flash whatever radio and hboot you want.

No sir. U can't flash everything even with S-Off. Some radios are killed by bootloader when flashed as my mentor (who jtag my phone to unbrick) says. And when that happens you won't know before the next power button press as the bootloader screen will say flash successful, but in real your phone is bricked means you will only see a white screen blinking on and off when u press power. When press vol up and power ull get 3 vibration, when press vol up vol down and power you will get 7 vibration. LOL.
Your hboot has to be 1.08.0000 to become like you said (flash everything). And like I said I bricked twice trying to flash different radio versions. And there isn't a single post about this matter not in xda or anywhere else I searched.
My hboot became 0.90.0000 while I S-Off. So this post is for gsm S-Off users who has hboot below 1.08. Thanks to d33ps1x for the ruu post. There is not much post about S-Off.

Well you "mentor" hasn't a clue then to be honest, I had the triple vibrate blank screen problem, phone was far from bricked, all I had to do was re run the RUU and it worked fine, even at 1.08.0000 radio, the whole idea of s-off is you can do what you want...

Sir u can't run ruu when ur phone is bricked. Because u can't connect ur phone to pc via usb and also u can't go to bootloader when u press power and vol down u ll see nothing happens..
All I'm saying is when your bootloader is below 1.08 and u r S-Off u may be in risk as some radio don't support below 1.08. 1.08 is ok I also said that in post.
The thing I said wrong which u misinterpret is U can flash everything with S-Off true. But u can brick atleast there is a chance as I bricked twice I experienced, don't try flashing all radios if ur bootloader is below 1.08.
It's just a caution derived from my experience. I'm no dev. Just passing time here. Do whatever with ur phone at ur own risk.

Cheers for the help dude. I'm sure it'll save a good amount of people out there in this position xD

Thanks. I hope so.

I have HBOOT 1.09.0099 & truly i did porting all the ROM's out there, no one getting problem.
As you said in the PM about CM7 or in this post to UPDATE/DOWNDATE (Don't understand which should be called if anyone go from HBOOT 1.09.0099 to 1.08.0000) the boot loader, i think modpunk is right here & you need to downing the kernel as alquez specified in CM7 post if someone getting problem porting any ROM like cyanogenmod.

Doesn't matter if you are 1.8 or 1.99 call it update or downgrade. You shouldnt have problems when ur hboot is 1.99.
Anyways U need this post only if your hboot is 0.90, that will be the case when someone is just s-off and hasn't applied any RUU.

nope they are not...i uploaded different... they cant get changed on the web... i will verify and remove if so... (to err is human meaning{man is mortal})
dont get confused... every ruu comes with a radio & hboot... u must apply the radio & hboot of same ruu... or there is risk of brick...

[Q] no system installed ... Update fail !

hi,
trying to unroot, un-alpharev, un everething to take phone to warranty fix (gps not working anymore).
ive run the RUU, but HBOOT wasnt 'fixed'. so then i extracted rom.zip, renamed it to PB99IMG.zip and put to root of sdcard but when updating through hboot the position BOOTLOADER is BYPASSED (all others are OK).
how to remove alpharev text bootloader ? how to unroot ? (my hboot is 6.93.1002)
EDIT:
please check this post : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=16044493
Do you have a CDMA phone? The latest HBOOT version is 0.930001
oh, should have said that before - this is GSM phone
my question is to:
-load stock recovery
-load stock hboot
-remove 'alpharev' on hboot
-to s-on
First Downgrade ur HBOOT, from alpharev.nl
then flash RUU
with PB99IMG_DOWNGRADE from ALPHAREV site i get HBOOT 6.93.9999....
Use Fastboot commander to flash downgrade image
reboot bootloader, thn u get "ALPHAREV UNLOCKED"[ on bootloader screen.
next you can run RUU/I]
If you flash this, you will be on older boot ver
http://alpharev.nl/PB99IMG_downgrade.zip
no change...
still on hboot screen i have :
--- Alpharev ---
BRAVO PVT4 SHIP S-OFF
HBOOT-6.93.1002
...
Have you flashed RUU????
yes, i did - no change.
when flashing 'downgrade' from alpharev im getting hboot ver 6.93.9999 so i flashed with hboot-stock from alpharev so i get 6.93.1002...but how to get 0.92/0.93 ?
Getting out of mind now
well, now i can only say l try downgrading froyo 2.2 to 2.1.
or w8 fr others suggestion
ok...any guide? will give it a try...
also a question - why , when installing PB99IMG (full) through HBOOT i get BYPASSED on downloader ? how can I (we) switch it to OK ?
Ok first flash the stock bravo HBOOT, then flash the downgrader (all in fastboot), then run the RUU and you will be a-okay. Try running the RUU from your PC instead of the PB99IMG if it doesn't work that way.

Wow just wow...
10 people tell you to follow 2 simple steps and you do something completely different. No wonder it went wrong, never should have rooted in the first place.
Do as follows and i promise you it'll work:
1. flash downgrader hboot either via "fastboot flash hboot downgraderhboot.img" or by using the PB99IMG.zip containing it from alpharev.(it will and should still say 6.93.1002)
2. flash the ruu by putting the extracted PB99IMG.zip on and let the downgrader hboot flash it
Can give you the technical reasons for why everything you have done is wrong, but i won't bother.
ok....i flashed with stock bravo HBOOT, then flashed the downgrader (all in fastboot) and then run RUU.....
got HBOOT 0.83.0001, NO alpharev.....but...RUU failed to finish update (error 140) and have no system at all...all i can is to get to hboot menu....
@mortenmhp
im a noob not an expert. thanks for helping me feeling like an idiot...
EDIT:
when trying to update trough PB99IMG i get :
Main Version is older !

np exactly what i was going for....
0.83 is very old (from android 2.1 rom) and error 140 is a bootloader version error which indicates that you are not allowed to downgrade. Get the newer ruu instead as advised all over this forum(version is 2.29.405)
Also sorry for being harsh, but I've personally explained this exact problem 2-3 times and seen plenty of others trying to do the same, so i know there are several topics explaining it just fine if you bothered to search properly.
ok...used newest RUU (RUU_Bravo_Froyo_HTC_WWE_2.29.405.5_Radio_32.49.00.32U_5.11.05.27_release_159811_signed) , extracted rom.zip, changed name to PB99IMG.zip, put to sdcard...now i get CID INCORRECT...ehhh....searching this (and some other) forums all the time... damn...i really feel stupid....
gonna try with goldcard.....tomorrow morning....got enough of this for today...thanks everyone for their time and effort....hope the GC will do the stuff..
bah sure u downloaded the right file and not one for cdma or t-mobile eg.?
Also please boot to fastboot and plug it via usb and enter "fastboot oem boot" find the line that says CID and type the output here.
You should also be able to compare the cid of your device from above to a file in the PB99IMG.zip
edit: also your device might be branded meaning it will have another CID and it wont allow you to install the wwe one. Then you'll have to either find one for your carrier or make yourself a goldcard(allowing you to install the wwe ruu anyway).
Did what You suggested , got:
... INFO[ERR] boot image does not exist!!!
OKAY
...

Did you forget your chilax-pills today?
Where you born with all that knowledge, as the only one in the world? No...?
Well then... everybody is at a different level of knowledge in here...
so please take your chilax-pills, go get laid, or whatever you need,
and try talking a little bit more kindly to people,
instead of bashing them with "Im soooo good - and you`re sooo stupid" attitude,
or just dont help! No need to trash people like that!

[SOLVED] Help pls! Very Slow Booting!

i have done research and i basically nail down the problem. i did search around and found options to resolve this.
one of it is using RUU options, i tried several times, but due to slow booting, the operation fail.
i try to use OTA, to update to 2.50.707.4, however, when it reboot, it stuck in the HTC black screen instead of white.
My problem problem is same as the one is found:
" powering up takes about 30 minutes - 20 minutes just black screen(so I thought phone completely broken), then HTC logo with approx 10 mins vibro, approx 5 mins silent, boot to android and then - working fast as usual. USB connection not recognizes, reboot to bootloader takes eternity and locks up in menu(maybe its just makes a move onse an hour, I dont tested so long)
Any advises?"
my problem came when i did the "one click eng s-off" as i wanna flash a new radio. after i have done the "one click eng s-ff", my device reboot and i am having the above super slow boot. i assume the hboot screw up or conflict with what i have done.
please please advice...
edit: however, i am able to go into bootloader and recovery using adb command (which take ages). my recovery is 4ext or something like that. i have a backup of my previous downgrade version before i flash the smartdroid. what should i do?
my backup after downgrade version is 2.37.707.3. what else i need to do?
edit: SOLVED
i revert back my hboot and everything done, very risky to have eng s-off.
from what i read, you probably have a device shipped with 3.x, and downgrading hboot causes that super slow booting. its a known problem...
actually, the problem is not caused by downgrading. this is what is did : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=855403 "one click ENG S-OFF"
i just revert back hboot settings using the terminal and code provided from the thread, and problem gone. yet, i don't know what's go wrong. i think this problem is very rare as it is NOT due to downgrading process, as before i do the ENG S-OFF thing, i already downgrade the device and even flash smartdroid ROM in it with no issues.
actually i am helping my friend to root his phone. well, i own a samsung galaxy s2. i don't have to go through all the pain to root.
The issue happened when you flash the older Eng bootloader on a device that came with gingerbread.
Since the Eng bootloader is older(from froyo) it is as above hosted. Downgrading your bootloader. Its not as rare as might think. A lot of people have been in this spot

there might be a lot, but trying to search for this solution is as rare as i can describe. or should i say, i couldn't even search for it? i have to click one by one to search for it.
can you enlighten me with a link or steps to get eng s-off? coz all the search topic i found is actually quite technical, as i am sgs2 users, it is actually very hard to understand the term used in htc.
i might as well quit helping my friends with more rooting/hacking on htc as it is too risky and almost different from sgs2, and i don't wanna pay for any damages.

Their is no need to have Eng soff. It only causes issues for newer devices. Regualr soff is more than enough to flash a custom recovery, custom roms, radios, bootsplashes.
For example with engineering bootloader many people will use.the fastboot command to flash a radio(you guys might use modem). With soff to flash a radio it needs to be packed in a flashable BOOTLOADER zip file. We call them PD98IMG.zip. that's essentially the difference. Eng one can use a PC and fastboot to flash radios, while regular soff we pack it in a zip and flash in bootloader

[QUESTION - NO TUTORIAL]Downgrade to HBOOT 0.90.00

Hello guys,
i think this question is answered in another thread, then please give link, i haven't found everything
I now, that this is a noob question, but i ask in General section too.
Why it is impossible to downgrade the Wildfire S to HBOOT 0.90.000? And why the rom_01.zip with the modified radio does not work on higher HBOOTS?
Thx for answers!
ONeill
i too have been wondering this, is there no way we could change the misc to say the phone has 0.00.0000 firmware so we could run any ruu we liked??
@heavymetalman:
We can only change the so called "main version" in the misc partition. According to that version A RUU will know if it can be installed.
But that's just the half thing.
As you, ONeill123 know, a RUU uploads the rom.zip and let's the bootloader do the rest.
So in fact, when the hboot is updated, the RUU and the main version are out of scope. hboot checks the real version of hboot to be flashed. Somehow 0.90.0000 is too old.
I think when HTC changed from 0.90.0000 they KNEW it is exploitable and forbid under all circumstances to flash it (only s-off can flash). So from 1.03.0000 it is no more possible. hboot update bypassed is the error shown then.
So what happened? I can only guess, but an idea would be they changed the location of the secu flag some time. new hboots know about that, 0.90.0000 does not and is s-off.
but this is just a guess.
Hmm,
its terrible Maybe you and the other devs found a was to s-off our great phone
I made a downgrade only to 1.03.0000
So I'm assuming people have already tried to downgrade that?
Or would it be possible to edit the 0.9 hboot to read as a higher number in order to flash it?
sent from my android powered beast!

Sure. I have tried it (since I would never state something I have not tested without saying I haven't :-D )
I tried to downgrade from every available hboot to 0.90.0000. nothing worked.

Or would it be possible to edit the 0.9 hboot to read as a higher number in order to flash it?

No, that would change the checksum & signature of the hboot. If it was possible to flash edited hboots we'd have s-off for months now.
True. Hmmm. Dead end then lol.

[Q] Desire HD cannot enter bootloader..

I have rooted and have Ace Pvt Eng S-off using AAHK.. fyi, mine is GB shipped, but fortunately pseudo eng boot is working fine..
The problem is when i have flash custom ROM viper and set it up everything, when i enter hboot, i and enter fastboot in the dropdown in hboot menu, after i select bootloader, it scan for a while and it shows message "[PD98DIAG.nbh] No image or wrong image!" or something like that, it is blinking very fast..
But, the phone itself is working, and boot viper very well.. so my question is, do i need to bother putting the right image inside directory somewhere in the sdcard or just left it be?
Sorry for asking this, if there is any thread explaining about this, please direct me to the right way..

That is perfectly normal....everytime you enter hboot, the phone parses for a PD98IMG.zip file and if you don't have any shows that message. What are you trying to do with the bootloader? Don't mess with that partition as you can end up with a brick. :good:

I see. So, where can i find the PD981IMG.zip and where should i put it into? fyi, i dont have systeminfo in bootloader but i saw some FAQ and they said that it is normal. But, with that, i dont know if i have a superCID or not. I think i read it somewhere that saying we should rename the custom ROM that we currently use into PD98DIAG.nbh and put it into the root directory so that it will not shows the message "[PD98DIAG.nbh] No image or wrong image!" again.. but is it true? I take a look at the aahk PD981IMG.zip compressed file and custom ROM compressed file but they are completely different..
I'm not using aahk PD981IMG.zip because it is downgrade ROM if i'm not mistaken which is downloaded during rooting, and if i put that file and the bootloader is reading that file, maybe there will be some inconsistency as i am running viper.. Right now i am currently running viperdhdv1.2.3, but i afraid that i might brick my desire hd if i flash another rom.. is that possible? what do you think glevitan?

LOL.. sorry about my messy explanation.. orait, start from the beginning. Please bear with me...
i have desire HD, GB shipped..
by using AAHK, i finally rooted it with pseudo eng hboot,
install CWM > flash viperdhdv1.2.3 > working fine..
Ok now when i enter bootloader, ( vol- + power button), it does not list systeminfo, so with that I cannot determine whether my device have SuperCID or not, because then i cannot flash unbranded ROMs.. so, question is:
Is there any way to know the CID besides systeminfo?
Is not having SuperCID will prevent my device from flashing any custom ROM?
Regarding this:
Code:
sd checking....
loading....[PD98DIAG.zip]
No Image
Loading....[PD98DIAG.nbh]
No Image or Wrong Image
Loading....[PD98img.zip]
No Image
Loading......[PD98img.nbh]
No Image or wrong image.
Where can i find the right img or nbh file? Do i need to rename the customROM boot.img into one of that and put it into root directory?

WHATTTTTT??? no buddy...you are doing everything wrong. IF you are S-OFF and have CWM or other custom recovery, then you are ready to go. SuperCID is not for custom roms...it has to be with carriers. System info is never displayed in hboot except for the hboot and radio version...do me a favor, read what I told you or the next time you will be asking help because you got stuck...

Ok the file for the zip and nbh is the update image, so if i doesnt want to update anything, why should i put anything inside isn't..
Orait, that one is settled.
When i enter bootloader, it shows "ACE PVT ENG S-OFF RL"
From what i read, RL stands for Relocked right? So is it mean i need to unlock it first to install custom ROM or what? And from what my friends said, ENG S-OFF is not stable and dangerous to flash custom ROMs as there is a chance to brick the device, so first i should try to make it shows "ACE PVT SHIP S-OFF" and after that I will be able to flash any ROM safely.. is that true?

Like the other person said please do a bit.more research and listen a bit more....don't mess with the partitions in your bootloader with s-off you can do some real damage...you don't need to unlock your bl if you already have s-off just go into recovery wipe and flash the zip...

I guess this is too much for me to comprehend so i just left it right there...
From what i read,
-S-off means security for NAND memory is deactivated, so we can write whatever we want on that..
-ENG hboot is a more advanced hboot compared to stock hboot, like able to flashing kernel or new radio using fastboot..
-So, if i just flashing new custom ROM without flashing radio, this means that my risk of bricking device is near zero right?
-So my question is, if eng hboot is better, why radio s-off is recommended in some thread?
-and why i have RL(Relocked) at the end of S-off?
Please give me some thread that explains about that.. I saw some thread but it is not answered. =.=
p/s: need to have some coffeeee....

Just answer this: How on earth is your bootloader relocked, if you never unlocked it?
ENG S-OFF should not be used. S-OFF is more than enough and allows you to flash whatever you want. PERIOD.....don't waste more time.

[Q] Installing Custom Roms

ok soo ive had time to finally sit down and start installing custom stuff to my hox. I went through all the steps to set it up and ive unlocked booloader, and instaled custom recovery.
I went to go flash a rom lets just say android revolution but i havent decided which yet. Im alittle confused about the instructions.
it turns out my HOX is s-off (it says s off on the top of bootloader screen). and my CID is 11111111 and my hboot is 1.39.
So these are my qs:
-What does s-off really mean? Does it let me skip any steps or does this matter.
-Why is my CID like that? After looking at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140, I don't see my CID listed. Did i get like a fake HOX or something? (When i go through the setup it doesn't let me uncheck the "provide annonymous info to HTC" agreement because it says my device is a test device if that helps...)
-What is a "Proper HBOOT version for Jelly Bean based ROM"? (This is from te Andoid revolution HD instructions) I think I have a correct HBoot but idk what im supposed to be looking for
This isnt my first time installing custom roms but it was much more simple with my old phones than this. I dont wanna eff anything up cause I cant afford to get another beautiful hox
Thanks in advance for the help guys :good:

- S-off is security off, you can flash complete roms from the recovery, no need to flash the boot.img with fastboot commands.
- your cid is kinda special, you are able to change it to any regio cid becase your phone is s-off. Its a lucky thing id say.....
- the proper hboot for JB are all hboots from 1.31 up to 1.39
You can put a rom onto the sdcard and perform a full wipe and then install the new rom.zip. you do not need to flash the boot.img seperatly like we have to do with s-on devices.....
Hope this helps

ok so i just ignore the boo.img stuff cause i dont need to flash it... sounds good makes life a bit simpler almost like flashing on my old phone . as for CID, if i change it to any old regular one can I change it back? is there any advantage to changing it? what does CID actually mean... also what does hboot mean/do? Im only interested in JB roms so i shouldnt have to worry about that right?
If you only want to install JB custom roms you dont need to change anything......flash away i dont know too much about changing the cid. But you are pretty much able to run all software from every country. Like mine cid is european so i can only flash the european software to it. You are able to change the cid so you are also able to flash official asian software and the bootloader is sort of the bios from a pc....
