WIFI will not turn on - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

I recently noticed my wifi will not work or turn on. Running latest version of DIET ICS rom. I go to settings and hit the slider and it says "turning on..." but never does. I even tried flashing back to the stock rom and it still will not work. How can I fix this and get my wifi back?

Anybody? Please help I really need my wifi to work again.

Did you have another rom installed before DietICS? If so it is probably a lethal issue. Just flash the stock kernel again.
Sent from my Galaxy S3 running DietICS

Yes I flashed a couple other roms before dietICS. How to I go about flashing the stock kernel again? I downloaded the kernel from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1737848 and just tried to install the zip from cwm but it failed.
Do I have to use odin?

nvm. grabbed the one from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1768826
worked like a charm.
Thanks!

s5660M reflashing stock error

Hi guys, first of all there were similar posts, but couldn't find anything that looked like my problem
Im currently running CM 7.2-GIO-KANG [Update: February 13, 2012]...and CWM 5.2.0.7
Let me tell you how i ended up with this version
I bought my phone..flashed it with Darkshados rooted rom V2...then i used simply gio for a while..after which I upgrade to gio pro 1.3...and gio pro 1.4...after which i switched to CM 7.2.
Ive been told that this version shouldn't have any WiFi problems..but when my phone is screen locked for a while..the WiFi shuts off...and reactivate when I unlock it....this is pain..cause i use whats app...and if the WiFi isn't on when its locked...i don't get my messages.
SO i thought maybe...its because my model firmwear changed or something...and decided to flash back to stock...and install CM 7.2 form stock.
I had reason to believe this because...my phone also registered my netwrok provider as BELL...but im actualy with VIRGIN(Altho virgin uses bells network)...the previous roms didn't do this and showed virgin.
So i decided to go to downloading mode...and re flash to Stock V2 for the s5660M. And as expected I got a bootloop. Following the instruction for the bootloop fix..i went into stock recovery, installed CWM again...and wipe data..mounted partitions..and then installed arpegio..just to check..but i keep getting stuck on the boot screen every time. finally i used CWM to restore a CM 7.2 backup i made..and managed to get that working.
Anyone have any ideas to why i cant flash stock and another rom anymore
Please and Thank you^^
Flash stock rooted by darkshado with Odin. then go to stock recovery and wipe data, then r restart and wait for boot. Don't install cwm yet.

Reflashed stock Kernel - now can't enable Wifi

I'm still a noob when it comes to flashing kernels, and I tried flashing the Siyah kernel and my phone wouldn't boot. I flashed back to stock, and now whenever I try and enable wifi, nothing happens. Tapping the icon in notification causes it to "blink" but never turn on. Not sure what I'm missing...
Try this. this is from a AOKP ROM I used.
WARNING: This kernel has updated WIFI and Bluetooth drivers. If you are going back to stock, you need to get those drivers back or those 2 devices will not work. Simply flashing a kernel will not do it unless it also flashs back those drivers (they are in "/system/lib/modules" folder).
Or you can just flash this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/atta...8&d=1341720006
Wait a second...what has updated bluetooth and wifi drivers? I'm having a terrible time with bluetooth, so if there is an updated driver somewhere out there, I want to know about it. Please link. Thank you!
EDIT: This is my thread. Please post the link there. Thank you.
EDIT: Found the updated kernel here.
Yeah happens to me all the time.many roms don't have kernel with them even some stock so reflash either the seperate stock kernel file or another custom kernel right aftercu flash back to stock. Works for me every time!

GPS Not working

Hi there, I recently tried to use Google navigation in my car and it's fully stuck at "Searching for GPS Signal". My GPS is On yet I don't see the flashing GPS icon on the status bar. I tried flashing LiquidSmooth ROM and it works perfectly fine there but it doesn't work on the Frosty v11.6. Any help to fix this? Thanks

Did you try to backup your current rom, flash a cm10 rom then go back into your recovery (I'll assume twrp) and then restore the rom that you are currently on? That method fixed me up as another way to fix gps but it may not work for others.
Just a thought.

This fixed it!!! Thanks a lot. Here's what I did:
1. Flashed a CM10 ROM
2. Verified that GPS was working in that ROM (it should be working)
3. ODIN to stock JB firmware
4. Again, verify the GPS was working (it should be working)
5. Rooted and flashed to desired 4.1.1 ROM
6. GPS should still be working
Thanks a lot dccoh!

[Q] android.phone.process problem on most ROMS.

Hi there, I am not new to installing Roms in any way but I accidentally installed a d2lte Liquid smooth ROM instead of what my phone is, a d2att. So when installing the above ROM I did everything what I was supposed to do (clean install, format system). However, whenever I go on any ROM (Such as Quantum or Omni) I get an error as soon as it boots up, and my signal keeps turning on and off. I wiped data, cache and dalvik twice and go to a new ROM and the problem persists. For some odd reason, Carbon ROM works but I need a different one due to battery drain. I've never experienced this problem ever and I was hoping someone could please help me out?
Have you tried re-flashing the modem?

Yes i tried that earlier but still no luck. It's weird though how there was no problem on carbon rom and yet there was a problem when i went back to the Quantum Rom. Something happened on the LiquidSmooth Rom but i don't know what. I will again try reflashing the modem though thank you.
EDIT: Re-flashing modem did not help
Is it possible to use Odin to get back to a completely stock rom? If you have a 4.3 bootloader, you can't use Odin to flash a stock ROM.
A way to get back to a stock ROM for those on the MJB bootloader has been provided by enewman17. See AT&T I747 UCUEMJB Stock Restore in the development forum.

Trying to flash stock ROM on 12.2 after rotate issue

Hi guys,
I'm trying to go back to a stock ROM. I tried a couple of other ROMS and my tab developed an issue where it wouldn't auto rotate. Using apps I could rotate though.
I thought by going back to stock I may fix the issue. I've been trying to flash via odin 3.07 and 3.09 but I just get stuck at "boot.img".
Can anyone advise on how I can flash the stock, or maybe fix the non rotate issue?
Thanks

not sure if this will help, but I have noticed when I oden back to stock, from a TW based rom, some of the apps stay installed from the previous rom unless I do an "Advanced wipe", and check everything accept external SD card. Even the "Device status" says custom instead of official unless I did a complete wipe.
I had always thought when using oden to get back to stock, it automatically wiped everything. Seems different with this tab. If this doesn't help, try re-downloading the stock rom. Sounds kinda like a corrupt download. Good luck!
