Hi guys,
I'm trying to go back to a stock ROM. I tried a couple of other ROMS and my tab developed an issue where it wouldn't auto rotate. Using apps I could rotate though.
I thought by going back to stock I may fix the issue. I've been trying to flash via odin 3.07 and 3.09 but I just get stuck at "boot.img".
Can anyone advise on how I can flash the stock, or maybe fix the non rotate issue?
Thanks

not sure if this will help, but I have noticed when I oden back to stock, from a TW based rom, some of the apps stay installed from the previous rom unless I do an "Advanced wipe", and check everything accept external SD card. Even the "Device status" says custom instead of official unless I did a complete wipe.
I had always thought when using oden to get back to stock, it automatically wiped everything. Seems different with this tab. If this doesn't help, try re-downloading the stock rom. Sounds kinda like a corrupt download. Good luck!

I can no longer flash a new rom and boot up successfully. It goes through the entire flash process correctly, but then boots straight into CWM when i restart. I have tried to flashing back to stock via odin, then starting fresh, did a factory reset from standard recovery. I have flashed MANY times prior with no problems. The only way I can get it to boot is when I restore with Odin. Am I missing something? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I tried TWRP and same issue. Boots straight into whatever recovery I have installed. I have never had a problem with CWM before. I was running Serenity 1.1, noticed my GPS wasn't working and reverted back to stock and did factory reset. Ever since, not able to flash. I had flashed a couple of the Sprint leak roms prior to Serenity with no issues.

I don't want stock recovery. I want to be able to flash again. I tried using TWRP after fresh install but still have same issue. Either I boot straight into recovery after flashing rom, or it just sits on the SGS III logo. The only thing I can flash is back to stock either already rooted or plain stock. I am at a loss. I have been flashing with no problems since august and have no idea what the problem can be. I have even tried redownloading the roms.

Well fortunately for you rooting the GS3 is very easy, so do as he says, Odin to stock, re-root and flash. If you are seriously at a loss because you don't want to go through the trouble to be able to flash and root again then I suggest searching forums for someone who might have the same problem.
That's the problem, after flashing back to stock, and re rooting, I have the problem. I cannot flash anything using CWM or TWRP anymore. I am currently rooted and stock. No recovery installed. Not sure what happened and why recoveries are not working. I don't mind flashing back to stock.
Grab a stock image from sammobile.com and try that.

Evidently fifth time is a charm. Restored back to rooted stock, reinstalled apps, twrp and successfully made a back up and restored. Was able to flash Ariel. Not sure what the difference was but back up and running now. Thanks for all the suggestions.
This has become quite infuriating.
I was on The Hybrid 1.3 when by phone was randombly freezing. I needed to pull the battery to reset it. This caused ALL of my apps to lose their data. (Facebook was logged out, netflix was logged out, Titanium backup lost its direction to the folder on my SD card)
I thought this was odd, so I downloaded another ROM to try and fix the problem. I downloaded the new rom and went into recovery. Flashed new rom, cleared cache, cleared dalvik, but then as I tried to do a factory reset in CWM my phone resets and comes back to recovery. This happens every single time I try to do it in CWM.
ROM booted fine but has many wierd problems (probably that go with being unable to factory reset)
So i downloaded TWRP and tried flashing that by odin, only to get an unfixable bootloop.
So odin'd back to CWM, factory reset problem still persists.
So at this point I decided to go back to stock and turn this phone in because there is no reason it should be doing this.
And now my frustration about trying to get back to the stock ROM. WHY THE HELL IS THERE NOT AN ODIN FLASHABLE STOCK ROM?! Or any rom for that matter.
In CWM i have to put all .zips on my external SD, because the internal one REFUSES to mount.
The .zip from HERE is not working for me at all. I try to flash it and it says it completes in about a second. I reboot and it just stays at the samsung screen and never goes any further.
I remember back with my Captivate, if anything went wrong as long as you got back into download mode, you could one click odin your way back to normal and start all over. It's like every thread in this devices forum is purposefully vague and confusing, things are not explained well at all and people talk about mysterious version of files and things without ever actually providing a link.
This is becoming a real pain in the ass to try and get my phone back to stock or even useable again. Does anyone have any ideas?
I just tried looking for you and wow, i didn't realize that we really don't have a flashable ODIN stock rom....

We do have ODIN flashable stock firmware...(stock rom, kernel, modem, recovery). go the Android DEV forum.. STICKY "One Stop Shop for Note2". In there you'll find everything you need. Look under section 5 "FIRMWARE". You can also go to SamMobile.com website... under "Firmware", and in the search box, type "I317". The downloads are "zip", but those are not flashable zip... download that file and use 7-ZIP to extract the tar (xxxxxx.tar.md5"). Use that tar in Odin. Follow instructions in sticky for how to load file/use Odin if not familiar.
Hey guys hopefully you can help me. I was rooted for like 3 or 4 months now and have had not many problems or not anything I couldn't fix my self. My phone gets stuck on the Samsung Galaxy s4 screen anytime I reboot. I have tried different roms, different kernels, I even odin back to stock. I was using TWRP 6.0 then reverted back to TWRP 5.2 to see if that was causing the problem. Still have problems. I am going to re download the stock tar to see if it was a bad download but Odin checks the md5 and says it was good. Odin says passed every time also. Odin version is 3.07.
I get a error before and when trying to wipe dalvic cashe. I can wipe reg cash no problem. I think my phone is not mounting the internal storage when it reboots. I could be way off but need help asap. If I format super wipe with twrp then restart twrp and then factory reset I can install or restore a rom some times but still cant restart the phone. Any hope would be greatly appreciated.
EDIT
I wanted to edit my previous commet. LiquidSmooth seems to be running fine. So TW roms and GE roms **** up on my phone when I restart. so is it the internal systems when I have TW roms. I think it has something to do with partictions messing around maybe.
I like TW roms and want to continue to use them... Thank you
Get into recovery and do a factory reset, it is a must after you odin back to stock. Make sure you are also using a tmo kernel.
Thanks you
I got this problem a few days ago and found some topic including this one. You should check it out.
Well, what worked for me was Odin to stock firmware, root again, install recovery then custom rom. Now it's working fine. Try to downloading it again to see if it works. I downloaded mine from here, rooted and recovery it using this one.

+1 to what he said. I bet if you go into the stock recovery after odin flashing it will say something like cannot mount /data partition. Factory reset there, and it should fix that and make it mountable. (Its important to use the stock recovery factory reset after the odin, don't flash a custom recovery right after flashing)
This was incredibly helpful. I had the same issue. Thank you.
This is also applicable to the Verizon Wireless model.
Well, like the title suggests, I was experimenting with Android 4.3 a bit today, so I've been flashing a few ROMs and then formatting. Anyways, I was done seeing what I wanted to see with 4.3 so I decided to go back to Dandroid, a TW 4.1.2 ROM. I realized I didn't have the DKP kernel on my phone, but I heard that you can use the TWRP mount feature to put files on your phone while you're in recovery mode.
I attempted to do that, but the phone/drive didn't show up so I clicked Unmount only to have TWRP crash and now whenever I try to boot back into custom recovery, the flash screen loads and then it crashes. I tried to reinstall TWRP through Odin but it still does the same thing. Tried removing my SD card to see if that would be the issue, same thing.
I currently have no ROM installed, but I have a Nandroid of MIUI on my SD card. I can also get into Odin just fine. I am downloading the Stock Sprint ROM and will flash that I guess.
Basically, anyone have a suggestion as how I can get my phone running again? I'm currently downloading the stock zip file to flash through Odin and have about 30 minutes left so I figured I'd ask if there was another way to maybe access my Nandroid of MIUI or something. I cannot access my phone though so I cannot enable USB debugging for the Toolkit :\
EDIT: Flashed MD4 Stock Sprint ROM and all is well. Re-flashed TWRP 2.6.0.1 and I can get back into it just fine. Kinda sucked but at least my phone is working lol

I was gonna suggest try flashing TWRP thru odin and see if that works but looks like u went the long route lol... glad it works for u now.
Yea, nextime just reflash your fav recovery through Odin. It has nothing to do with your rom. Glad to see you back up and running.
Hello I am mostly noob in regards of rom flashing. I have successfully flashed cyanogenmod 10 after rooting my i317. however i decided to revert back today and used clockwork recovery to flash rooted stock rom:
Stock_Rooted_JB_4.1.2_SGH-i317M_(t0ltecan)_signed
continually rebooting.
After that, ever since it has been continually rebooting.
used clockwork to flash back cyanogenmod it still reboots just after finished loading.
tried odin 307 following:
I317-ODIN-UCUBMK6-rooted
Also reboting.
Not sure what went wrong. I also cleaned all the caches disk data etc., no avail.
I think flashing Stock_Rooted_JB_4.1.2_SGH-i317M_(t0ltecan)_signed did something wrong to the phone. Is there help avialable regarding this?
For now at least I can get to odin or clockwok using the phone shortcut. Thanks!!!
Do you have an i317 or 317m ? After using ODIN did you do a factory reset using stock recovery

I had the same issue. Had to go to samobile.com and download the stock firmware from there and flash it via desktop Odin 3.07. Then from there when I was back on the stock firmware I then flashed a recovery and then rooted it
