Can I exchange my phone? - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

I got my phone on launch day white and I wanna exchange it for the blue.
Will t-mobile let me exchange it?
What is there guide lines with this?

I believe the exchanging policy is permitted 30 days from purchase (AT&T, idk if that goes for other carriers, but I believe other carriers do have this in some way or another), and that is for a new phone. I don't think you can exchange it for a color, and if you could there is a restocking fee you have to pay.

Exchanging policy is permitted 30days only in California. The rest of the states are limited to 14days.

That is incorrect in my case. I live in New York, and got my phone, the Galaxy S3 from AT&T. I do indeed have the 30 day exchange policy, the woman who helped set up my phone even said so.

Only att does that, other carriers do only 14 days, I had all of them myself, unless you get it from a third party store like walmart, best buy, etc (this exclude California)

Where do you live, maybe we can trade?
Does yours have any light bleed?

From my past experiance they will not exchange it for a diffrent color. Even if you tell them that there is a problem with the white unit. I had to return it, get my money back and purchase it again in the color I wanted. Keep in mind this was before the $50 restocking fee.
Good luck.

Good info I forgot to mention that too, that's what they charged me to exchange mine

You can also purchase a blue back battery cover and then get the blue Spectre Tempered Glass Screen Protector and your phone is now blue....

When ordering mine thru 611, I asked "What if I don't like the white, can I return it for blue, will there be a restocking fee?" and she told me no. I also have PHP and have been a customer since the voicestream days.

exchange in store?

Greetings,
I have a quick question for y'all. I bought the tmo s2 by phone from Tmobile a couple days ago. If I had an issue with the phone and wanted to do an exchange, would I be able to exchange in a store? The thing is I have some small issues like slightly visible vertical lines and some speeches on a black screen but I don't want to send this to only get a worse one. I would really want to exchange in a store because I'd want to check if it's actually better.
Thanks for the help.
You have 14 days from the day you bought the phone to return it. You can go to any tmo store but may pay a restocking fee if you dont go back to the same store.

From my understanding if you didn't buy it from the store then you CAN'T return it to a store. That's the problem with buying it online or over the phone.

OK, thanks for the help. My issues are very small, I kinda see the vertical lines on grayish backgrounds, and tiny black splotches on black in a dark room. But I think I'll hold onto this one because i'm afraid I'll get a worse one with more issues.

Currently owner of an htc amaze

I'm currently an owner of an htc amaze 4g. Ive seen people exchange from the htc amaze to the Samsung galaxy s2. I just want to know how I could do that? I'm really getting tired of the problem that this phone has. I really want a Samsung galaxy s2. What's the easiest way to do that? Should I just buy a new one? :/.
Thank you for reading this.

lol everyone says that. well the i cant put a case on because it makes the wifi signal weaker, the flash messes up the pictures at night, the faceplate creaks when you put pressure on it(its very loud) and haptic keys on the bottom of the screen bleed through the screen of the phone so you can see it lighter on the bottom of the phone. that's a problem with all of the htc amaze. im just tired of all of those problems. i love htc sense though :/. is there any way to put htc sense on the samsung galaxy s2?

Officially? No. However I bought a sensation on Craigslist and it stopped charging after a month. I think I broke the charging port. I went to t mobile chat and told them. At one point I was asked where I got the phone. I lied and told them from t mobile and they replaced it with the amaze. My old sgs4g I Gabe to my wife who is on her own plan and she started having software issues so she called t mobile up and had that replaced.

If.you.go.through three.or.mote warranty exchanges in 90days or less, you are offered an alternate exchange. A new phone but there is no.guarantee it'll be the sgs2.

Well if it breaks such as physicoal damage no because that goes through insurance. If its anything related to.manufacturers defect such as rebooting or freezing then yes they'll help you out.

That is not ture anymore. I went through 4 HTC Sensations and the current one is having issues, and they will not replace it with a different model. I've tried multiple agents and pleaded at several stores.
Well was it within 90 days or less. Its in their policy. They are probably untrained or overlooking it. I have done this on two occassions. You can always have them transfer you to retention. Or if you complain hard enough you can initiate them to look at their policy. My wife has the mytouch 4g and had some freezing issues last month. She went through two exchagnes in a matter of weeks. The Rep told her at both the store while I was there and one on chat that if she specifically had three or more exchanges for the same device within 90 days an alternate phone would be offered. It is similar to or better. The reps can't choose as it chides the most comparable phone to your current one as well as same price or more. Sometimes they offered another option. It would be worth mentioning the policy next time or speaking to a manager and or retention.

For clarification tmobile use to do that they dont always anymore speaking with retention will do nothing in terms of that we cant force it to happen neither can a manager either your given the option or not. I believe they made changes to prevent people fraudelantly doing this just because they know the policy. Best thing you can do is sell your phone and just buy a galaxy s 2 used, just find a reputable seller.

That's lame. So they'd rather have an unhappy customer that's gone through many refurbished versus, than just shipping out a newer. Phone? I can see how warranty stuff can be abused.

People sell their phones on Craigslist and then report it lost/stolen and file an insurance claim with T-Mobile/Assurion. They get shipped a replacement phone and your phone gets blacklisted which means it wont work on T-mobile.

"FREE" causes a lot of issues with a lot of consumers, mostly with expectations. Plus, the "freebie hunter" crowds, the kind that will bring 50 coupons to the grocery checkout aisle and buy groupons to places that they already go to every week (and are cheap to begin with) are horrible customers.
Just adding the penny makes a world of difference.

Yes. You're entitled to return your device if you're not satisfied with it within a particular period.
Just make sure that they cancel your contract as well.
Amazon has been pretty nice with their return policy, I have returned items that doesn't have issues but I wasn't happy with. I just wrap up everything neatly as possible and usually get full refund minus shipping.
I know there are many people on contract, but for me I wouldn't even pay 1 cent and enter two years contracts. You have to pay double ETF if you need to change carrier, one to Amazon and one to the Carrier.
Early Termination Fee (ETF)
If I terminate this Agreement before the end of my Commitment, I will pay an ETF of up to $325 if purchasing certain specified Equipment (e.g., Smartphones) OR up to $150 for other Equipment for each tel. no. associated with my service as indicated in the Terms of Service.

I'm in California, its law to have a 30 day return policy. Unless they post (in writing) at each entrance and cash register, while clearly explaining such after each purchase. Last time I went to Sprint....I didn't see any signs.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
Sprint has signs at the front of all corporate retail locations that state the return policy. Also the contract clearly states the return period and it is given verbally by the sales personnel at the time of purchase. Sprint is well aware of California laws but remember that authorized retailers such as best buy have a 30 day return policy that is only for the device itself. The contract expiration is 14 days no matter where you buy the device from and regardless of what you decide to do with the device itself. (keep it, sell it, return it for refund, throw it in the river, etc) So technically you can return the device after the 14 day contract period for a full refund but you will still be held in contract without the new device active on your line of service. So do all of your evaluations within the first 14 days no matter where you decide to buy your new phone. Just making this clear to some who find this a bit confusing.
Eventually it will

They no longer price match on contract device's, will still price match off contract price tho. They changed it somewhere around the first of March I believe it was and it was company wide. Best Buy Mobile stores can occasionally be convinced to price match still if you get a cool manager, their policies aren't identical to regular Best Buy so they have a little more leeway on price matching as long as the manager isn't being a douche.
