Flash ticker - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

On the TMO GS3, and all this discussion about the Flash ticker, so let me understand that having 1 on the ticker voids warranty? Also, does it get to a certain number and shut the phone down? If I am not worried about the warranty, I should be able to flash many times correct?
Also, does rooting from Odin, count as a tick?

Depends on the script. It reacts to altered binary scripts, I think. Technically your warranty would be void if there's a number other than zero there. You can use triangle away by chainfire to reset the counter. On stock Roms, it should also change the status back from "modified."

it never shuts the phone off. It is just so they can refuse to honor warranty repairs if they want.
Triangle away (an app from the playstore) can reset the counter, now
You can flash all you want

Unfortunately it does not change the status from Modified. Chainfire's notes on the app say that is outside the scope of triangle away.
To get rid of the Modified status you have to ODIN to stock, from what I have read.

^^^^^ you're saying if we odin to stock, then download "triangle away" on the stock rom, and that'll take off the 'modified' and it will drop the ticker down to zero? then we can delete the triangle away app, right?

I am running stock rooted and after few days of root the status changed itself from modified to normal! I didn't initially believe someone on the forum when he said it will automatically change back

Has anyone tried the usbjig? I just can't seeing the software doing a permanent fix.

The usb jig just forces the phone into download mode. If you are worried about the counter, use triangle away and then Odin a stock ROM. Stock items do not trip the counter.

[Q] Verizon Note 2 Rooted - Wish to Unroot (Used Adam's Guide for Bootloader)

I used Adam's guide to bypass the bootloader as I have the newer version and probably already had the OTA update.
I want to unroot my device now. Do I strictly use odin and the stock file?
When I boot into download mode here are my stats.
SCH-I605
No
Samsung Official
Custom
This does mean that it has voided the warranty.. correct?
I'm ok with just getting back to stock. I don't want to risk getting bricked trying to use triangle away to reset the counter.
What's the best path to get back to stock at this point?
I know I should have found this somewhere but I've been reading SO many forums here and it's confusing after you have the OTA update.
Your counter is not raised so you don't need triangle away. Thats all I can help.
There is a different forum for verizon note 2 so look there.
People here would probably not be able to help you much because verizon version is a lot different then international version.

Oops. I put it in the wrong place. Thanks for the response! That's good news if my counter hasn't changed. I know the status of shows modified on my settings, but oh well.
Flashing Stock ROM with Odin will unroot device
if needs you can wipe cache and data to make status Normal
If you want just status -Normal without unroot, try this
Setting - Application manager - All - SysScope - clear data
do same with Enterprise SysScope if available

I flashed I605VRLJB_I605VRALJB which was the stock I think I needed for Verizon 4G LTE Note 2. Not sure where I would do the wipe cache and data. It shows the status as modified under my settings. If it's too difficult, I'm not that worried. If my warranty is void, maybe it will teach me to take care of my phone. Lol

Help a Noob unroot
I did Adams Casual Verizon 1 click root with recovery months ago now I want to return to stock to do the OTA update that's been a defer nag. I'm tired of deferring it. How do I return the phone to stock, I tired of searching for the right forum or u-tube vids for a simple straight forward step by step procedure. Right now I have the I605VRAMC3 Build. Someone please advise, this is my 3rd GN2 and I don't want to brick it again. The 1st one I bricked and the 2nd replacement, the phone just stopped sending/receiving data. Then can I run the 1 click again to re-root?

Anyone here on export sets(without warranty N7100)

Does it matter if i have 50 over flash counts or zero flash counts? I still have to pay the same to Samsung for fixing my phone right? So i need not bother about Triangle Away?
Btw, I heard even if you use Triangle Away, the device status will change to modified from normal after a few weeks of usage without flashing anything? True?

If your Counter is 0 and Official and you can claim your warranty, Triangle away works but you need to be complete Stock to show as official.

[Q] Qualcomm secureboot: Enabled -- warranty void?

I need to send in my s3 for repair and it's still under warranty. However, it was rooted but I unrooted it and I reset the flash counter. In download mode, it says "Qualcomm secureboot: enabled". Is this normal of a typical unrooted s3 phone? WIll samsung know that I rooted my phone (and void my warranty) if I send it in like this?
Sorry if this is a stupid question (I'm still a noob at this kind of stuff).
Thanks

Damnit, I have Warranty Bit 1, what would happen then?
If the repair centre sees that the warranty is 1, they may fix it, call you with an estimate, or just send it back to you without making any changes or repairs.

Will CF-Auto-Root wipe the device?

Hey, I was wondering if Chainfire's autoroot would cause a factory reset or any type of wipe on the phone? I know that for some phones, when the root is an exploit it doesn't wipe anything. I'm not sure if Chainfire's method is an exploit or not though.
Secondly, he says to be on the stock recovery. Once the rooting process is completed, I can install whichever recover I wish right? I assume TWRP is the best one to do? Or are there any known issues with certain recoveries for this device?
Thanks!

It won't...but make sure to make a back up of anything on your phone to your pc like picture, music and so on.
Do a factory reset before rooting to eliminate some problem. That what I did and so far everything is good.
The KNOX meter will turn from 0x0 to 0x1 because of rooting.
And finally use TWRP latest version like everyone does...

Oh yes, that was another question that I forgot to ask. Would Samsung deny insurance claims on a broken phone, or deny warranty coverage from root? I know "technically" they can but do you think they would if it's a hardware issue?
Is there a way to reverse this and unroot the phone if needed?

You can go back to stock via ODIN but the KNOX will be the same at 0x1 I believed. I'm not sure if there is a way to revert back to zero maybe in the near future once the smart devs here can figure it out.
Samsung will void the warranty...but TMobile maybe NOT because some people here already exchange their phone like 2 or 3 times already due to some issue with rooting and so on...

Chainfire's CF-Autoroot will not touch or delete any of your files.
Including pictures, videos. contacts, data, mms, apps or anything else.
There is absolutely no need to backup anything before rooting with
CF-Autoroot or with any other rooting method.
TWRP recovery is excellent, in fact that's what I use it all the time.
Also none of the rooting methods including CF-Autoroot" will do a "factory reset".
The only thing any of the rooting methods do is ROOT the phone and nothing else.
Good luck....

The T-Mobile Note 3 does not have FRP; however, it may have reactivation lock enabled.

Rooting sm-n900t. What is the safest way to root my device, this is my first time.

Usually I have someone root my devices but I was told there are easier ways to root The note 3. I have the T-Mobile version.

Do you care if you trip Knox?
If not, then I would suggest using Chainfires root method. You can find it in the "Original Android Development" section.
If you do NOT want to trip Knox(warranty issues), then look into Root De La Vega.
I was going to go with Root De La Vega, then stumbled across Kingo Root.
http://www.kingoapp.com/android-root.htm
It's just a one-click app, no ADB knowledge needed. Although I wasn't worried about it, it didn't trip the Knox counter. I did that on my own later...

I had read a little about that before I did it. At the time, I was suffering the brutal stock boot loop issue and just needed a quick way of rooting it to load TWRP so I could troubleshoot it. It wasn't stable enough for me to get ADB up and running.
To be honest, I figured even if they did get the IMEI for whatever reason, I was probably going to warranty swap the phone because I didn't realize the boot loop was a known software problem.
So far, everything seems legit.

2nd time was a charm.
So I removed the root expecting to do an ota and after the ota re-root. However the server response is "device has been altered" or something similar and wont allow me to update. So I go back to Kingo to re-root and nothing. it connects but i dont even get the superuser prompt to grant access. I'm wondering if I need to do a factory reset then try again. Anyone have any ideas? All I have ever done is root. I'm at a loss.

Supposedly using mobile Odin correctly allows 4.2.2 root without tripping Knox. If you don't care about KNOX use CF-Autoroot. I stopped caring and installed Beastmode Kernel and TWRP.
Thanks..yeah the orig method I used reported not tripping knox but apparently did...now I can no longer receive ota's bfd. I dont care. I'll use odin to flash kk and root from there. If not, I have JUMP and I'll just replace it.
