I am waiting for Mobilicity to push OTA update to Canadian version Galaxy S3 T999V, but it is not coming out yet. So I am planing to flash tmobile rom to my phone by using Odin. I know that Modem is different between T999 and T999V, but the Odin T999V rom is in one file, I do not know if it will update modem or not. If I fresh T999 rom but the modem is wrong, will my phone still boot? Can I fresh a T999V ICS modem after I install the T-mobile JB rom? Thank you!!!
I'm with Wind, but your phone is exactly the same, and I chose to install jellybean for TMO.
Use "Mobile ODIN" and not ODIN. This app will allow you be more selective with the update. Update all partitions except the modem/radio.
I don't even know if ODIN can do it, I'm sure it can, but I'm just not comfortable enough with all of ODIN's features to try different options. I have only used ODIN to install back to factory with the original firmware (all partitions including radio).
I suggest you try Mobile ODIN, but have the oem 404 firmware also available, in case you have to use ODIN to do a full recovery.
I'm trying to flash the stock Fido i747M rooted rom on a AT&T i747 device, but I continuously get a "FAIL!" message in Odin, and a "SECURE CHECK FAIL : sbl2" message on the phone.
I was able to successfully flash an AT&T rooted stock rom from the same thread, but the Fido file keeps failing.
Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426
Any ideas?
Currently rooted, running the AT&T stock rom.

Why not just flash at&t rooted stock in Odin then download what ever ROM you want on it ?
I have a rooted SIII on Bell Canada, the I747M, on 4.1.1. I want to get rid of root by updating it to 4.1.2 but in order to do that I have to use Odin since it is rooted.
So I went to this website:
http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=SGH-I747M
And found the file I needed, but the baseband listed for it is different from my baseband. The baseband listed for the 4.1.2 Bell I747M firmware on that website is I747MVLDMF1, while the baseband on my phone currently is I747MVLDLK4. Can I still use the 4.1.2 firmware with the different baseband to update through Odin?
Also, what settings should I use on Odin?
Will the SAMSUNG GALAXY S3 UNIFIED TOOLKIT V7.0 work on a i747 using 4.3.
Currently, there is no free unlock method for the s3 running stock 4.3.
Looking here: http://www.skipsoft.net/?page_id=213, I see no mention of 4.3 being supported by the toolkit.
CF AutoRoot
CF-Auto-Root worked on my S3 running stock 4.3. I was hating the new Knox and had to get out. I think it took 2 tries but was very painless.

What version of the S3 are you using? Looks like most of the problems reported have been with the AT&T i747.

Did you want a rooted ROM or just a method for unlocking the 4.3?
If you want to have a pre-rooted ROM without tripping knox, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1739426

I want to unlock and root my i747. My note 2 is a bell phone. My i747 is from rogers. Is there a difference in the downloads. Thanking you for the help.
You could load a rooted 4.3 rom , use mobile Odin to downgrade to 4.1.1 to see if you can use the free unlock method. Just don't try to downgrade the bootloader; otherwise, you'll have to buy an unlock code.
The link should have a download for Rogers 4.3.

Used odin to root with rogers 4.3 file (Current I747MVLUEMK5 (JB 4.3) - New!
Mirror 1: Download root66_RWC_I747MVLUEMK5_2.7z), worked perfect. Then tried to download 4.1.1 (I747MVLDLK4 (JB 4.1.1)
Mirror 1: Download root66_RWC_I747MVLDLK4.7z) with odin, failed to load, was able to reload 4.3 again, worked ok again. Do you know what went wrong. Thanks for your help.

Once you install a 4.3 stock bootloader, you cannot downgrade the bootloader.
When you flash the Rogers pre-rooted 4.3 rom via desktop Odin, you are replacing the existing bootloader with an identical bootloader and replacing the existing ROM with a 4.3 ROM.
When you flash the Rogers pre-rooted 4.1.1 ROM via desktop Odin, Odin tries to replace the 4.3 bootloader with a 4.1.1 bootloader which can't be done and causes a soft brick.
You can try re-installing the pre-rooted Rogers 4.3.ROM and use mobile Odin to downgrade the OS from 4.3 to 4.1.1. Mobile Odin will not touch the existing bootloder or modem.

Loaded with odin mobile the at&t version. Loaded ok but no sound or phone service. Phone now running in 4.1.1 . When I try to unlock unit says in service mode and non of the menus pop up. All these operating systems are pre rooted.

When you install the 4.1.1 from AT&T, there is not sound or phone service because the modem is probably incompatible with the ROM.
When installing the 4.1.1 Rogers ROM via mobile Odin, go into recovery and do a factory wipe/reset. Hopefully, doing this will allow the phone to boot.

Found an original copy of rogers 4.1.1, installed worked good but no sound or cell. Installed 4.2 modem got sound and and cell back. Phone now boots up ok and says it is in 4.1.1. Unlock code still not working, 4th menu not coming up, rebooted, tried numerous things, no luck. I think the boot loader from 4.3 is somehow blocking this from working. Not sure were to go from here, any ideas.
Another user loaded a stock 4.1.1 ROM onto his phone with a 4.3 bootloader and could not get the necessary menu options to unlock which leads me to believe you need to be running a completely stock ROM, including the bootloader.
as stated in title.
is it Possible to flash i747 ATT ROM to i747M BELL Hardware?
Things i have tried...
Mobile Odin, flashing Kernal/System/Cache of ATT Rom to i747M.
No boot Stuck at Samsung Galaxy Logo.
Tried to unlock Bootloader to flash Stock ATT odin. (Bad Idea)
used EZunlock and bricked my device. brought back with SDcard img.
any thoughts on the subject.
Although the i747 and i747m are identical according to many posts, I don't think they will work properly when using cross-flashed bootloaders.
