Hello All,
when I woke up this morning my Samsung Epic 4g Touch (Sprint) was acting funny so I decided to reflash the Rom I have on it. Unfortunately I forgot I had switched out my sd card from my xoom and flashed its packages instead. It is stuck on the First screen that says samsung galaxy SII.
Can someone please tell me how to hard reset my phone? WIll this reset the root? If i can get into recovery, I can flash the appropriate rom and use a backup to restore.

If you can get into Download Mode, I would start by odin EL29 rooted or FF18 rooted. (flash Agats kernel for ICS Odin as well) then from there you'll have custom recovery and flash your Rom of choice.

I foolishly installed the wrong zimage for ClockworkMod from the CyanogenMod guide (cannot post link to it D: ), thinking that it was for my model (I have the Galaxy S2 Epic 4G Touch, and the guide was for the Galaxy S2). However, it was not. Now I have no wirless capabilities, and the buttons at the bottom of my phone do not all work.
Is there a way to restore the stock recovery image? None of the options in clockwork are functional and I don't want to brick my phone completely.
Thanks.
Does anyone know what to do?
Have you tried using ODIN to flash the stock zImage?

I think that worked, thank you!
Got my brand new nexus today, rooted it using toolkit, then i wanted to install a rom. Everything went fine, flashed eagle blood, everything went fine. Then i downloaded an app and it took for ever to download so i rebooted my phone, then i was stuck with the dreaded animation lock. Now no matter what i do, i cant get past the animation. Still have access to CWM, tried a factory reset/cache wipe...but no success...
Any idead?
P.S. It's not me, it's my friends nexus! I got skyrocket!
Flash the stock ROM on the phone. You have access to recovery so use it then after you verify you can boot with the stock ROM then try flashing another ROM on again.
Personally as it is your friends phone if (s)he doesn't know how to flash ROMs then I would leave the phone stock.
No idea what caused you from being able to boot to this issue but this is my advice.
by that you mean to what??? because on the skyrocket flashing to stock rom is quite simple, via ODIN + Stock TAR...but how to do it on nexus?

Go into cwm, do a wipe and also go into advanced and wipe dalvik. You should then be able to reflash your custom rom to fix your boot loop. If thats successful then go back to cwm and make a NANDROID backup so they have a restore point if anything goes wrong in the future.
If you want to flash back to stock its quite simple and can all be done from my ToolKit. Its basically going to http://code.google.com/android/nexus/images.html and downloading the latest factory rom for your model, moving it to the correct folder in the ToolKit and then selecting option 8 from the ToolKit to extract the images and flash it.
Mark.

I've run into the same issue tonight going back to Apex 1.0.2 from the 4.0.4 leak. I'm trying the suggestion below to wipe and re-flash the ROM. I'll report back when I'm finished.
Edit: Yep, it worked!
Hey all need help bad and fast. So yesterday I attempted to flash my phone back to stock so I can do the new firmware update as I'm in Canada with Telus. Everything seemed to be working fine and ODIN flashed the rom just fine, but my phone since then has been stuck at the SAMSUNG screen with glowing font after the boot animation, I made an attempt last night and it stayed on that screen all night, now at work I've flashed the latest rom from the "[Guide] Installing LH1 OTA for Canadian S3" but it's the same thing, I'm not sure what's going on or how I should restore it as the options I use in the toolkit and odin seem to just get me to this screen and stop there. Please help guy I need it.

if you flashed a custom kernel you may need to flash your stock kernel if you want the stock rom to run properly. whend you flashed your stock rom did you perform a full wipe (format data/ factory reset, wipe dalvik, format system, format cache) ?
also, are you sure you have the proper stock kernel for your device?

Do you have cwm(clock work mod) installed?
Hello,
I was about to install the Beanstalk 4.3 ROM to my T-Mobile Galaxy Sll so I was following there Installation Instructions until I got to step 4... I had downloaded TWRP for the first time today and made a backup with it but I also used it to wipe out my whole Internal SD. That deleted all the ROMs I have and since I deleted everything they asked for my Galaxy Sll only gets to the Samsung logo and then goes black. I forgot about the backup so I instantly went and watched the "How to Unbrick Samsung Galaxy S2 / S ll T989 T-Mobile Phone" and before I realized my phone had changed recovery to CWM instead of TWRP and it seems as if each Recovery makes its own backups so I can't use the backup I made with TWRP in CWM.
I was gonna ask if there was a program in which I can transfer files without turning the device on. Maybe I can go into download mode with my phone and use ODIN some sort of way and pass a file? or install TWRP through ODIN? If this is possible someone please mention me the steps. I'm really worried at the moment any advice would be appreaciated.
Step one calm down!
Step two yes you can use Odin to install twrp
Step three read the stickies

I have been away from the epic for a while and now that iim back ive discovered this new way of partitioning. Can someone explain what i have to do in order to flash my stock GB phone with any of the MTD roms currently available? Any advice would be awesome.
Install CWM 5.0.2.7 via Odin, download your ROM of choice onto SD card, boot into CWM recovery, select ROM and voila. If you know how to set up Odin, then everything's so simple you could do it in 2 minutes.
