This is the emmc in my fire it definitively does not look like any that I can find posted in any tear down photos.
The back ground of this is that I have what I believe to be the emmc brick bug.

I couldn't find a razor so I just set it on the holder upside down. Lol.
Nonetheless, it'll be good for watching movies while on my PC. Just sit it on my desk.
How many times would you be able to pull it out before it loses its strength..it is only made out of cardboard. Creative idea though!
Trying This
Going to try this, Cool!!
Maybe you could use a plate stand for your kindle fire. Those type of plate stands used to display antique plates.
I am trying to find out how I can distinguish the new Kindle Fire with the larger CPU and more Memory vs the older 1ghz 512mb Kindle Fire. Before I buy used.

Ummm.... I guess turn on the Kindle to see what version it is lol......or are you talking about exterior appearence? If thats the case.....IDK
Sent from my rooted SCH-R880 POS
The kindle fire 2gen is slightly heavier as well, but if you turn it on, the UI differences are pretty obvious, for example the lack of gradient on the bottom home button bar.
The HD fire is much easier to tell apart, it has a front facing camera, and is also wider.
I hope that helps
I'm just trying to make sure I pickup a new one if I do go with a Kindle Fire. Due to its perfect location of usb and audio port for what I do, Its perfect size too. But I am disliking the no bluetooth thing. Since I like to play games with a ps3 controller. If I go back to a Galaxy Tab 1 I have to deal with audio not working through the HDMI Dock.
Is it possible to expand internal storage on firestick 2nd gen? I ve seen a lot of tutorials where it is done to firestick 4K. I have tried the same instructions on my firestick 2nd gen but when I try to run this command "sm list-disks" I get sm command not found. It works fine on 4k
Nope
Theoretically you could solder in a larger emmc chip however it's not very practical because BGA surface mount components are very difficult to solder and desolder without a machine on top of that you would need to reflash the firmware on to the new larger chip
It's not impossible but it's not practical and definitely not easy
Edit: I don't know for sure but they're also maybe some kind of memory protection/encryption ROM but I'm not a hundred percent sure
I have bought at a yard sale 2 fire tv sticks (1 working,1 bricked). The bricked one gets past the white amazon logo, but gets stuck infinitely at the colorful fire tv stick boot animation. I have tried everything that there was to try (the official amazon tips, the aftv news guide, and adb),but absolutely nothing worked. The firesticks did not come with a remote. Can this firestick be unbricked???

Yes likely... You should get a remote or a OTG but goto here to unlock and install TWRP

(dont worry the opening and shorting are easy-i used aluminum foil)
Then install a pre-rooted rom from here
