How to Make a DIY Kindle Fire Stand with Kindle Fire Box! - Kindle Fire Accessories

Just watched this...
http://rootkindlefire.com/kindle-fi...a-diy-kindle-fire-stand-with-kindle-fire-box/

I couldn't find a razor so I just set it on the holder upside down. Lol.
Nonetheless, it'll be good for watching movies while on my PC. Just sit it on my desk.

How many times would you be able to pull it out before it loses its strength..it is only made out of cardboard. Creative idea though!

Trying This
Going to try this, Cool!!

Maybe you could use a plate stand for your kindle fire. Those type of plate stands used to display antique plates.

There's loads of potential there but as is--i prefer my remote for navigation on TV type devices. For things that require a mouse I don't see much difference between holding one in my hand or needing to hover over that pad. Actually I prefer the in hand method because it looks like that pad requires a wired connection. But making it so you can use a dongle...someone with a better imagination could probably see future applications for this. Pretty cool though.
Walmart has their own 25$ wireless keyboard under their blackweb name, and it works on FireTV!
It has a touchpad for mouse movement and even has a numpad on the right!
The double zero key "00" even works!
Edit:Numpad even works for analog with retroarch on toadking using the mupen core!!!
Looks very slow, just like any other air touch app/device has been. Air touch seems to take time to process what you are doing, which makes it considerably slower than just using a mouse or touchpad. Also, I am guessing that this devices has to be powered by an outlet, which for me is deal breaker. I never use any devices or accessories that need their own power source to be used on another device. Its the same reason that I refuse to use Plex. I refuse to have to power up my PC/Laptop just to stream Plex media on another device, cause its a waste of electricity and is unpracticle. For the money it would cost for the electricity to power Plex I could just go buy the DVD at walmart or buy and download the digital copy.
Don't get the keyboard I mentioned,it is defective because the battery housing is too big and they wobble like crazy which causes input to horrendously be interrupted on a frequent basis.
The touchpad is rough and actually kinda shoddy.

Its easy to keep batteries from wobbleing. You can stick a small piece of paper between them so that they don't move. You can also tape them down. You can also take a piece of thick paper or cardboad and lay across them before you put the lid on so that the lid presses the paper down in turn holding the batteries in place. Loose batteries should never be a reason to not purchase something. There are lot of devices made that have loose batteries, but I have always been able to stop it from happening. I do not care to fix small problems. Kinda like the original Nintendo, that thing would take an hour to get a game playing sometimes, but if you blew in the game enough and put a piece of cardboard on top of the game to hold the game in the right place it was an easy fix. I bet I spent more time trying to get games working than I did playing them.

Fire Tv wont play any videos and doesn't make any sound

Every time I click on any video it say "video fail to play"
It doesn't even make any navigating sounds.
I've already done a factory reset but that hasn't helped me one bit.
Do you have any other HDMI wires to hook to your Fire TV?
Mine gets that issue occasionally, but I can always fix it by using the Ctrl+Alt+Delete hotkeys to reset it.
Don't use any cheap or flimsy wires with the grey or "silver" metal tips because they don't work so well.
I was getting slenderman vibes when using a cheap wire on a Sony NSZ-GS7 I once had because it got evil looking static distortion at random.
I reccommend a Vizio HDMI wire like the one I got on my Fire TV with big savings from Wal-Mart quite a while back.
Or look for any trustworthy brand with a gold-tipped HDMI and 4k support even though the Fire TV can only go up to 1080P.
I swapped hdmi but still had no luck.
I will try the hotkeys you mentioned.

Fixed CEC audio problem!

Edit--I'm sorry to report that after further testing the below is no longer working for me. It's strange that initially the audio glitch disappeared but I probably shouldn't have posted in haste. So following this I decided to try taping both pin 13s on both sides of the hdmi cable. I tried it again on my test tv and roku box first and this time it might be worth noting that a new message appeared on the tv saying "unsupported mode". This gave me some optimism to try it on aftv with both sides taped but i still have the same glitch when i power off my tv while leaving aftv on. If anyone has any insights, I'm listening. BTW--I didn't just come up with this concept. It does fix certain issues with older tv sets and newer set top boxes but my bedroom tv has something else going on i think.
I thought I'd tentatively share my working solution for cec on my bedroom aftv. I posted in the past that my bedroom tv absolutely MUST be powered on first before AFTV or the audio from every video i play will cut in & out indefinitely until i reboot aftv. This is extraordinarily annoying, especially since i have boot menu so the reboot process takes even longer. Someone isolated the problem as bad cec support on my bedroom tv. Looking into it, I saw you can remove or bend pin 13 on hdmi cables to kill cec. This seemed a little reckless so here's what I did...
I experimented with an old and unused roku box. I took a tiny sliver of electrical tape and carefully covered pin 13 on the hdmi cable. It took me like 7 times to get it perfect. Then i tried it with my roku box and everything worked fine.
So then i tried it on aftv with my old cec-impaired tv and it fixed my issue! Finally!
Only thing I wonder is the material i used. It's just a piece of electrical tape which should stay in place because this particular tv is mounted tightly to the wall with no side inputs (very difficult to plug in hdmi). Not that heat should be much of a factor since electrical tape should withstand but does anyone know of any reason this material might adversely affect the TV? All is working fine so I'm not trying to be pessimistic but if anyone with advanced knowledge of hdmi/cec has any info to add please let me know here. Thanks.
Thanks for sharing this info, I fortunately do not suffer from this problem but this is really great info. Thank you for the informative post

2nd Gen Fire TV Controller glitchy....

Wsup XDA!!!
Got my Fire TV 2nd Gen yesterday! I purchase the gaming bundle and was kind of dissapointed it didn’t come with the regular small remote control.
Also the gaming controller is glitchy.
Don't know what to try to improve it but if you guys figure something out let us know please.
Appreciate all your help!
Thanks!
My small controller is also glitchy, loses connection frequently. Think I will have to return the box till it's sorted.

i bought 3 fire tv 2.0 and one of them has a remote that is extremely bad. takes 5-6 presses when you first starts.
Trying to play Castle of Illusionwas impossible on the 2nd Gen Fire TV. Not only did the game run worse than my 1st Gen but I keep dying when Mickey Mouse was racing to get away from the falling apple. Moving him was like he was on ice so I gave up. So glad I send this beta product back and I am back to the more reliable 1st Gen Fire TV.
Fellas, try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=63166410&postcount=9

Sideclick Remote

Has anyone tried a Sideclick Remote with their FireTV? I've just ordered one from the US as they look pretty good as a universal remote solution. There aren't many reviews around, but the videos on YouTube look pretty positive and it's not all that expensive compared to a universal remote. Not sure if I'm allowed to post the link on here so I'll just stick on an image.

I kickstarted this project and have been using it for a long time. It is great! I got rid of 2 extra remotes and now have 99% of the functionality I need in one place.
That's what I'm hoping for. Hopefully it will be able to map my TV and soundbar into one

Yup - that's exactly what I do. I use the A and B buttons to do my soundbar volume, and + and - to do my TV volume.
I've got one and have been using it for months. Quite happy with the way it works. I have most of the functions setup to control my Xbox One and the volume plus and minus buttons for my soundbar that it's hooked up to. Works great! The only complaint I have is that it doesn't stay in one place when attached to the Fire TV remote and easily slides up and down.

I've noticed that the Fire TV 2 remote is the tiniest bit narrower than the Fire TV 1 remote, so it does slide a bit. If you stick something in there such as a piece of a rubber band, it will stay still and out of sight.
Another alternative is to get a FLIRC to make your existing universal IR remote work with the fire. Add in a $1 180-degree usb extender to keep things looking classy and you're set.
Got my hands on it and it's really useful. It's got a nice snug fit to the fire TV 2 remote, they might have updated the design slightly. It's gonna take me a little getting used to, but so far so good!
