Fire Brick Issue - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello all,
Yesterday I tried to do a fresh install of the stock software coming from AOKP ICS Rom. It says everything went fine in twrp. I also wiped the cache and delvik cache before the flash of the new software. When I rebooted the fire from twrp, I get the stock Kindle Fire boot logo, and its bright light its supposed to be. But then it dims down barely visible in the daylight and hangs there. It is non responsive. It does show up in device manager. I have tried using the Kindle Fire utility and it sees the fire, and when I tell it to go into fastboot mode the fire will reboot once and does the same thing. Hangs at the dim boot logo. I have tried the unbrick software for kindle fire and always gets the the point "waiting for device" and hangs. On the Kindle fire unbrick, If I choose the Stuck at logo option I get 2 error lines. they both say - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
these 2 lines are followed by Congrats, you kindle fire should be unbricked, but nothing changes. Let me know what my other options are. I have tried to re-root the device and its unresponsive.
Thanks,
Nick

I should add that if I put adb devices into command prompt it does show up.

Well your buggered you should have done a full wipe factory reset cache dalvik and system before flashing stock now its stuck trying to restore the data that you should have wiped no fff no recovery which now you need to fix it so your best bet is fire kit or a factory cable to fast boot flash a new boot loader and twrp

I figured that the factory cable was the only solutions. I tried the fire kit already. I have contacted and ordered a factory cable from ScOrPn. I will follow up with results.

FIXED!
Factory cable did it. I wish I would have owned one of these the whole time I have been using the fire. Thanks again everyone for the input.

Must've missed the than button

[Q] Kindle Fire stuck at CM9 logo (blue skateboard android logo w/blue light)

Hi, I just got my Kindle Fire and I installed TWRP recovery and FireFireFire using KFU. Then, I cleared Dalvik Cache and other cache file. Then, I installed CM9 using TWRP. Then I rebooted KF, and now I am stuck at the flashing blue light with CM9 and android logo (ya know, the one with a skateboard). It's been flashing for 20+ minutes.
My OS: Windows 7 64bit
Experience: I have installed CM9 on my HP TouchPad and G Tablet, but it's my first time installing Android on KF.
Thanks in advance.
Did you "factory reset" and wipe system also?
No, I didn't. This guide that I used (I googled it and a guide from anandtech looked easy enough to me) didn't tell me to do so. I guess I should've done that?
Yes, when installing a different rom, always do a "factory reset, wipe system, wipe cache and wipe dalvik.

Just boot back into TWRP. Do factory reset, wipe dalvik cache, wipe cache. Then flash your CM9 rom. Like Soupmagnet said, you should do a factory reset when you are installing a rom unless it specifically says you shouldn't.
With your help, I was able to flash CM9! Thank you so much.
However, I wasn't able to get my wifi going on so I turned it off. Now, I tried to turn it again, but it's completely unresponsive. The power button's not flashing, screen's dead; I connect KF to my laptop and nothing's happening... What can I do now?
---
Well, I just did the 'hard reset' (or something like that, by holding power button for 20+ secs) and it did the trick. Ha!
But my KF's still not recognizing my wifi -- it's getting my neighbors' wifi, though.
Hold the power button for 20 seconds and try again.
Some roms have trouble with wifi, try a different rom.
Thanks man! I flashed another rom and KF immediately found out my wifi. I'm downloading some apps now. Thanks so much!

It's the 3.0 kernel that has trouble with wifi with certain routers.

Kindle fire stuck on CM9 loading screen

Hey guys, I am pretty new at anything Android related and am in serious need of some help after several hours of struggling to revive my fire. Basically I took my stock kindle and installed a permanent root for the first time ever with the KF utility, after which I proceeded to install the latest TWRP Recovery using the same utility. Upon reboot after TWRP install, I immediately wiped the Dalvik cache and attempted to install the latest gedeROM build (26-6-2012). It seemed to flash ok, but on startup now the kindle will show the standard kindle fire logo, followed by the cyanogen 9 mod loading screen, at which it will stay in the animation forever, and never actually load up. Unfortunately in my noobness I did not realize that installing TWRP was not all I needed to do in order to achieve the option to boot into recovery mode every time, and now I cannot figure out how to once again get to that so I can install a backup of my stock firmware, which I did make. Is there a way to get the kindle into recovery mode without the ability to select that option when starting up? If I plug the kindle into my pc whilst it's stuck on the CM9 animation, the ADB status says online and has a boot status of 4000. When I attempt to send any commands to the kindle from the KF utility telling it to reboot into recovery, it just says waiting for device. I'm sure I just missed an obvious step along the way of the install, but I cannot seem to do anything with the kindle currently, so any help on reviving it would be fantastic!

[Q] Kindle keeps rebooting

Hi,
I have a big problem. I have a kindle Fire and I had TWRP installed. I installed a stock rom and it removed both TWRP and FFF. Now every time I turn it on and slide the lock over I get error messages. they are as followes:
Calander Storage (process com.android.providers.calandar) has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
process com.android.acore has stopped unexpectedly. ((FORCE CLOSE BUTTON))
This repeates as soon as I press the force close.
Then the Kindle Fire reboots.
If I type ADB Devices I get 4458002600000001 device
if I use the KFU it reports
ADB STATUS : Online
Boot Status :4000
none of the options work as I keep getting errors in FKU
Is it hopeless?
Please help me as the warrantee is done and I NEED IT BACK BADDDDDD
Thanks
Don't wait for it to fc on you race it to factory reset in the kindle settings and reset it or get a factory cable to force it into fastboot so you can reflash twrp and fff and then flash a rom.
Not sure what you are saying

I don't Understand what you mean by your post.
My kindle keeps rebooting BEFORE I can factory reset. I can get to the settings screen, but it only goes so far and reboots.
I am a newb so to speak and appreciate the help. Just wondering if you could give me specific details to follow. Have read posts but nothing stated works.
This is making me crazy.
There wasn't any hidden meaning in my suggestion some manage to be fast enough to make it to settings to factory reset it before it reboots. If it's not possible for you then a factory cable is needed. Hold the power button for 30 seconds till you are assured it is off then try the race from that powered off position anything you can do to shave time in your effort or gain a few seconds to reach the factory reset.
You r amazing

I am having this same issue, KFU says its still online 4000 but doesn't let me go into fastboot. Please help.
Try Soupkit http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1850038 if it still doesn`t work get a factory cable post # 9 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1392693 .
This happened to me. I just turned it off, turned it back on, opened KFU, and rooted from there. I installed twrp Then mounted, copied the stock rom, wiped everything, copied stock by mounting again, and installed it. If it doesn't work then use soup kit or a factory cable
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
I can turn it on without a problem the problem is when it turns on I get the same error messages like in the first post and before I can erase everything it reboots. When I attach to KFU it says it's online and 4000 if I tell it to go to fastboot it says waiting on device.
On KFU, Just click root. Remember, this is while it is booting. By the way, what rom did you install. if you got it off Amazon and renamed it to Update. zip, after installing ics or jb, then my way should work. just keep trying and don't give up.
Devices:
Kindle Fire with AlienDroid primary and Modaco secondary
All fixed now, easiest way to fix it was to go into applications and clear data of the affected apps (calendar, keyboard and contacts) and it cleared right up and booted normally and now I am back to stock. Just glad it was something so easy. Took a couple of times of the kindle fire rebooting but finally was able to clear out the data affected.
should've thought of that at first. good job.

[Q] Problems getting KF back to life

My old Kindle Fire broke (stopped charging) and I got Amazon to replace it (was able to revert back to stock). So, I got a refurbished replacement yesterday. I rooted it and tried to install Google Play using the KF utility, but something got messed up. Cannot boot into the OS anymore. TWRP is installed.
I tried to wipe the cache and then install a custom rom to avoid dealing with the KF OS, but apparently the system partition had issues - it always failed to format the cache partition. I did wipe all cache, did a factory reset and wiped the system and now formatting the cache partition works.
So, I download a custom ROM, mounted the Fire, and then from TWRP tried to flash the custom ROM. I starts fine, but then after 1 hour it is still sitting there saying it is installing. I tried several ROMs, but all ROMs never complete.
So, my Kindle Fire has TWRP (2.4.4.0) installed and functioning, no OS on the system right, but I am unable to install anything. When I check the Bootloader status it shows 4000.
Any ideas?
