Kindle fire stuck on CM9 loading screen - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys, I am pretty new at anything Android related and am in serious need of some help after several hours of struggling to revive my fire. Basically I took my stock kindle and installed a permanent root for the first time ever with the KF utility, after which I proceeded to install the latest TWRP Recovery using the same utility. Upon reboot after TWRP install, I immediately wiped the Dalvik cache and attempted to install the latest gedeROM build (26-6-2012). It seemed to flash ok, but on startup now the kindle will show the standard kindle fire logo, followed by the cyanogen 9 mod loading screen, at which it will stay in the animation forever, and never actually load up. Unfortunately in my noobness I did not realize that installing TWRP was not all I needed to do in order to achieve the option to boot into recovery mode every time, and now I cannot figure out how to once again get to that so I can install a backup of my stock firmware, which I did make. Is there a way to get the kindle into recovery mode without the ability to select that option when starting up? If I plug the kindle into my pc whilst it's stuck on the CM9 animation, the ADB status says online and has a boot status of 4000. When I attempt to send any commands to the kindle from the KF utility telling it to reboot into recovery, it just says waiting for device. I'm sure I just missed an obvious step along the way of the install, but I cannot seem to do anything with the kindle currently, so any help on reviving it would be fantastic!

[Q] No Yellow Triangle on Kindle Fire

So I have had my kindle fire rooted for about a month now and have been running ICS on a cyanogen ROM since then and it has been working fine. However I decided to unroot and I realized that when I boot up the kindle fire to access TWRP recovery there is no triangle. I get the original Kindle Fire boot logo. Like I said the ROM is working fine and everything I just don't know how to access TWRP. Does anyone know another way to access it? I have tried holding down the power like you would if the triangle was there but still nothing.
How exactly did you unroot? Flashing an official stock ROM? If so, both FFF and TWRP are gone, meaning you'll have to install them again.
PS: The yellow triangle is a pretty old version of FFF. The latest one will show the "Kindle Fire" logo with the word 'Fire' coloured in blue. It's very important to keep the bootloader and the recovery up to date!
I have not unrooted it yet so it should still be there. Also the logo isn't blue it is the regular boot up logo colors.
Then, are you still on the ICS ROM? Does "adb reboot recovery" help when issued from within the ROM?
Yes I am still in the ICS ROM. And I don't have the option to reboot it like that. That is something that I tried first.

What do you mean? It's not an option in the ROM, it's a command you type in the command line, in whatever folder you have ADB set up. For example, in the "tools" folder that KFU includes.
However, if "adb reboot recovery" does nothing for you, then give "adb shell idme bootmode 5001" and then rebooting a try. If that does not get you into TWRP, then TWRP simply isn't there, meaning you'll have to install both TWRP and FFF (even if you decide to go stock later, it's also a good idea to keep those two installed).
I understand what you mean now. I am probably just going to reinstall them so I will have the most updated version. Thanks!
Ah well, glad you got it sorted out one way or another.

Fire Brick Issue

Hello all,
Yesterday I tried to do a fresh install of the stock software coming from AOKP ICS Rom. It says everything went fine in twrp. I also wiped the cache and delvik cache before the flash of the new software. When I rebooted the fire from twrp, I get the stock Kindle Fire boot logo, and its bright light its supposed to be. But then it dims down barely visible in the daylight and hangs there. It is non responsive. It does show up in device manager. I have tried using the Kindle Fire utility and it sees the fire, and when I tell it to go into fastboot mode the fire will reboot once and does the same thing. Hangs at the dim boot logo. I have tried the unbrick software for kindle fire and always gets the the point "waiting for device" and hangs. On the Kindle fire unbrick, If I choose the Stuck at logo option I get 2 error lines. they both say - exec '/system/bin/sh' failed: No such file or directory (2) -"
these 2 lines are followed by Congrats, you kindle fire should be unbricked, but nothing changes. Let me know what my other options are. I have tried to re-root the device and its unresponsive.
Thanks,
Nick
I should add that if I put adb devices into command prompt it does show up.
Well your buggered you should have done a full wipe factory reset cache dalvik and system before flashing stock now its stuck trying to restore the data that you should have wiped no fff no recovery which now you need to fix it so your best bet is fire kit or a factory cable to fast boot flash a new boot loader and twrp

I figured that the factory cable was the only solutions. I tried the fire kit already. I have contacted and ordered a factory cable from ScOrPn. I will follow up with results.
FIXED!
Factory cable did it. I wish I would have owned one of these the whole time I have been using the fire. Thanks again everyone for the input.
Must've missed the than button

[Q] KFHD 8.9 Stuck on blue boot up screen - no OS

Hi, just received a 8.9" KFHD running 8.3.1. Rooted it per instruction from this site and install TWRP as per this site. No problem. Then I downloaded the Google apps zip and latest CM10.1 mod to install. However, I was unable to transfer them across to the Kindle, I presume until I was out of TWRP. It was staying in TWRP and would not reboot out of it. I noticed that it had 'no OS' installed. Now it is stuck in the blue kindle fire load up screen and will not load into TWRP
hope this helps

Kindle freezes when trying to boot to recovery

Today I downgraded to firmware 10.4.3 so I could install the 2nd bootloader. Everything is working just fine, except for the recovery.
Every time I try to boot to the recovery, my Kindle freezes on the blue Kindle Fire boot logo with it saying "Booting..." at the bottom of the screen. I left it for 10 minutes and came back to it to find it still frozen on the blue Kindle Fire boot logo and with it still saying "Booting..." at the bottom.
I have flashed a newer version of TWRP, but with the same result...
Please help! I really want to install CM11 on my Kindle!
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Kindle fire First Gen Brick any help appreciated

Hi all,
First let me say that I am new to this site so bare with me. Okay so my first tablet was a first gen Amazon Kindle Fire. After using the device for years upon end I decided that I disliked the Amazon Kindle OS and even the reading capabilities of it. Upon getting an Android phone the Kindle seemed to pale in comparison as it's apps were hardly ever updated and its app store was a disaster. So taking a leap of faith I decided to look up how to flash an Android ROM onto the device. So using the Kindle fire utility I troubleshooted flashing TWRP onto the recovery boot. However for the life of me I could not get the drivers to communicate with the Kindlea and the boot status was "unknown". Being the ignorant and impatient person I am (haha) I decided to use an app called flashify to flash the TWRP into recovery mode on my Kindle. Well little did I know that flashify was not the best option or it wasn't compatible, so I ended up in a boot loop with a device that could no longer connect to my computer using ADB composite device drivers. Frustrated I bought a factory fast boot cable and plugged it in. Now I was able to get out of the boot loop and use fast boot commands to boot and flash images. I flashed TWRP onto the device (finally) and it quickly, without user interaction, brought me to the "wipe device" button. I knew that I had to do this so I tapped the button but the Kindle did not respond, actually not responding to any touch or tap regardless of where on the screen. I quickly understood that I was unable to use the version of TWRP that I have. Unfortunately even after booting up every version of TWRP otter and blaze I still am not able to have any touchscreen capability. If I press the power button it locks the TWRP screen like expected but since the touchscreen doesn't interact with the Kindle I am unable to unlock the device and have to hard reset the Kindle(holding power down for 20 sec). So I tried flashing cannibal open touch recovery and the touchscreen worked (yay!) However it worked in a weird way where I was not able to select an option. I was only able to move and browse my cursor through options. So once again a dead end. So guys I am at a loss right now. I refuse to believe that my Kindle is just a paper weight and I feel like I'm close to being able to flashing an Android ROM. Any help would be appreciated!!!
Thanks so much
Josh
