best cpu governor?? - Wildfire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

can anyone plz tell me which cpu governor is best- interacctive, smartassv2, conservative, smoothass, lagfree .... so that phone runs smooth, lagfree, best performance ....
and also which frequency is best??

Best one fore pure performance would be Performance obviously, but that will rape your battery.

There ain't no dedicated cm settings on cm9,and vm heap size isn't there under performance. It's not there at all.

to manually edit vm sizes on cm9....kindly install an app named.....ram manager pro....it controls your rams performance....in the latest edition for ics you will find vm size controller...jst switch it from there...
it would require super user capabilities
and governor ---smartass v2
good luck

[Q] LeeDroid & Setcpu

I have just updated to LeeDroid V2.2.2 and all is good.
Reading his post there is mention on using a I/O performance file and Setcpu.
What effect does setting the cpu to say 1.8ghz have on battery life?
I have downloaded Setcpu and had a look in the post but can't seem to find the best settings. Is there such a thing or not?

I just installed leedroid yesterday, my first ever rom. I am also wondering if the IO patch will be of any use to me in every day use. I know lee says in his thread that its not fully tested so not sure whether to even experiment iwth it.
I think in Lees thead there are instructions for installing it.

[TWEAK] To improve performance

Hey,
While grazing through the web, i found some tweaks to improve the performance of our phone. I flashed it and found my phone noticeably faster. It may be placebo effect but why dont you guys try it out and let me know!! :good:

Hi,
What kind of performance did you notice? And can you provide some examples? With benchmarks if is possible?

The general speed of scrolling has improved. The whole UI seems much smoother.. I didnt run any benchmarks yet, but will do so shortly..
The original thread about that tweak is dead. No update anymore. probably some script doesn't effect with a new ROMs.

I think it had more to do with the OP's account being disabled rather than the tweak not working on new roms...
This is the score i got. Max freq:600 Mhz Min freq: 200 Mhz. Governor: smartass v2. And i must say i have a crappy class 2 sd card..
nice result. What ROM are you using? You can set the 806Mhz processor and check the result?
it's not work for me, i have the same result without thi mod..
what were the initial score ?? without this patch i mean ???

Agree, it would be useful to give before and after results and info n which Rom
Sent from my HTC Desire C
it is not work. I have with and without this mod the same score - something like 1966 in atuntu.
Wihout the tweaks:
787 MHz max - 245 Mhz min Governer= Scary
32GB class 10
SD Booster - 2048
BEATSenseless rom (android 2.3.5)
With de Tweaks:
787 MHz max - 245 Mhz min Governer= Scary
32GB class 10
SD Booster = 2048
BEATSenseless rom (android 2.3.5)
For me is works, but for how long....i hope for a while...
we shall see
Thanks for the tweaks
I think we can all agree that there's no development in this thread. You should probably report this and have it moved.
Edit: also, I this gives a 50 point boost in antutu. But you just can't feel ll it

Hey,
build.prop tweaks aren't exactly meant to improve your performance scores, rather than to improve the general usability. These tweaks dont necessarily boost your benchmarks. If you see an increase in benchmarks, then great! But the effect it has, has to be felt rather than seen!!
sukhjit321 said:

Yes, i think it is.
And we are likely to get higher scores in GB than in ICS, because GB is fully optimised for our devices, while ICS is sort of modded to work.. (no offence to the great devs who made porting ICS possible in the first place!)
I belive thse are just bunch of init.d tweaks so any rom that supports init.d should work. In terms of scores you wont see any significant changes. This doesnt iprove your ram work or your gpu and cpu speed. You will however see overall improvement on stock roms and not neceserly on moded ROMs as they alrady have their own tweaks.
It worked !!!!

I wouldnt say that there was a huge difference in the performance but yeah, the scrolling speed, a small glitch in the graphic interface sometimes when some heavy was in background etc did reduce to nill.......

Great one!! Thank you very much, I hope this development will benefit all of us here
Have you tried using dhd.ko from CM9, or maybe even from Cowithgun's kernel? I also have no Idea, but I'm really interested in Kernel development. Too bad I haven't got enough time to try it :|

atm no, it's almost a copy of arco's kernel and not interesting at all, i'm just at the very beginning of a work, maybe sometimes later any1 finds something to solve it
I respect your work. Thanks for your contribution .

seems like smartassv2 and lulzactive governors work..
still can't make wifi working..
google can't give me any links to i\o scheduler works, strange.. OC and UV are nice ideas, noted
changed toolchain compiler from google's prebuilts (source.android.com) to DooMLoRD's ones, seems it will be nice

Honestly i'm more eager to get this working so there are better governors for the SGW rather than spending time and effort just to have USB hosting.

Sorry, I guess i'll keep searching the forums to see what comes up.
I'm just wondering is it possible to view the kernel of a similar Samsung phone that has more governors and use that layout as a base for the modded arco kernel?

take a look on smartass governor
kernel is now empowered by linaro compiler
still waiting for some1 to help me resolve wifi issue
fixed smartassV2 problems, works nicely
also found the place to add i\o governors.. hm, the kernel has deadline, cfq, bfq, noop in sources.. strange, only bfq and noop are selectable in nofrills
have found sources of something like anticipatory.. searching further..

[Q] Phone performance

Hi,
Im having some huge problems with performance on my phone.
Earlier I was on stock, now I am on x3reme sense
Usually when I go to Apps, and I see space available for apps it shows me around 400mb
When the Phone is really lagging and unresponsive, the space it shows me is around 90mb. I am really confused as to what is eating that space sometimes?
Another issue is that the phone takes over 5 minutes to open a SMS thread, i think it gets stuck in a loop while searching for contacts. Any ideas for improvement?

I m using Titanium kiss
use cfq.
use stock rom.
use stock, over clock or make a swap. I don't know if its psychosomatic but after making a swap all of my problems went away with pacman.
when I oc, I usually keep the min as low as possible, and for the max 1400. I use Lionheart and noop or deadline. it depends. if I'm playing games I usually clock it a little higher.

what is the best gaming kernel ?

hi guys , i want to ask you what is the best gaming kernel for HTC stock JB 4.1.1 ROM ?? im not on a custom rom so i need to play some games like NFS most wanted with minimum lags . can anyone tell me what is the best kernel for me ?
All kernels are amazing! You need to change the governor to interactive and io scheduler to deadline for optimum gaming experience...
Besides, comparison threads are not allowed in xda...
