[Q] GPE Unroot/Return to Stock

Hello everyone,
I have spent the last 7 hours trying to unroot my LG G Pad 8.3 Google Play Edition, but nothing I have tried works. The method I tried was to flash toe stock boot, recovery, and system via the Windows command line. Now, my tablet gets stuck at the "Google" logo when I try to boot it, and I get the red exclamation error when I try to boot into recovery. Does anyone have any first had experience unrooting the GPE G Pad, and can my tablet be salvaged or do I need to buy a new one?

Yes, you can at least salvage your tablet. Download latest twrp recovery, and install it in download mode. Then download the 510 ROM from the developer section onto an sdcard, insert sdcard into tablet, mount in recovery, install the ROM. You can then try again if you wish. Make changes one at a time, slowly!
There may be a different way, but this seems the easiest to me.
Why did you want to unroot?

Thank you for the tip, I'll give that a try now. And I rooted to try to install Cyanogen, but the milestone releases kept giving me the "process com.android.phone has stopped" and the nightlies couldn't connect to my Wifi.

So, I've tried flashing the 510 ROM both in the ZIP folder and in the extracted TOT file type, and am getting errors on both. Neither one will flash. Any tips?

You can't install cyanogen mod on the gpe. There are no custom Roms other than the modified stock ROM for the 510.
Let's start from the beginning... Did you install twrp 2.7.0.1? And can you boot into recovery?
Then, did you take out your sdcard and install the modified 510 ROM onto the sdcard from your computer?
Then reinstalled your sdcard to your tablet, rebooted to recovery again, mounted your sdcard, and then flashed the modified 510 ROM?

No, use the modified 510 stock ROM in the developer section of this forum. Using the " official" ROM won't get you anywhere.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but is it possible to reflash the stock recovery so I can receive OTA updates?

Yes it is. But it's much easier to just sideload the update. Two threads I'd General section with links and instructions.

I don't know if you realize this, but the sideload update is 100% stock. Exactly the same thing you'll get with the OTA. Just a different delivery method.

Okay, I've tried this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2448960 to restore my device to stock, and get one of two errors. Either I use the V510 dll and it displays an error saying I have to be in online mode, or I use the other dll and it doesn't flash. What am I doing wrong?

You're not doing anything wrong. This won't work for V510 running 4.4.2.

adb.exe is used when device is running a rom, or with a custom recovery.
Fastboot.exe is used with bootloader/fastboot mode.
the Kindle must be rooted first, unless you have a fastboot cable.

Help! I rooted and updated OTA and it's stuck at booting

I can't go to recovery since it goes straight into the update > "error" and it stays like that until I restart my phone. What can I do? I can't access recovery at all and it's stuck in bootloop. I was stupid enough to update while I was rooted, are there any solutions?

Okay, not enough information, since you are using cwm temporary I am guessing you have not unlocked your boot loader which will cause the fail, can you get into the bootloader?
If you can follow the instructions and download the current rooted Rom and follow instructions to flash the stock rom

You can't flash asus firmware with cwm.
You can unbrick with adb sideload.
See THIS GUIDE how to sideload
I am done here, if you choose to follow advice to try using temp cwm to fix your phone I am sure you fail, your best solution is to use bootloader to flash, everything you need is in this thread, if you choose not to do the proper research before you start flashing things without doing the proper research before then you are beyond help here.

it says in device manager " asus android bootloader interference"
and in the phone its says normal boot and there is icon of open android/
and it written in blue "continue the fast boot process
try "fastboot devices"
if it answers than try flashing twrp or stock recovery
command to flash recovery "fastboot flash recovery filename.img"
after that u can try to flash custom rom using twrp or stock rom via twrp or stock firmware using adb sideload
I manage to make it work and install cm 13 the latest nightly.but when I make a call or receive one the phone reboots itself. What is the problem? Thanks
try factory resetting it

Phone can't boot

Hello everyone , i need help from you guys
Just now , after i unlock bootloader and install twrp , i install the oxygen os open beta 7 i wipe cache and davlik and download a supersu, but when i boot it gave me a message encryption unsuccesful !!! I was scared and i press the reset phone button below after that it tried to boot up again , it stuck at oneplus logo for awhile and the phone power off itself!!!! I tried to power on the phone and get to recovery but it is still the same !! It stuck at oneplus logo for awhile and it power off itself !! Now i can only go to fastboot mode , what should i do everyone ? Pls help!!!!
Anyone with a solution pls reply me asap !!! Tks everyone !!!
are you on custom twrp recovery? if yes? flash oxygen os firmware 3.2.8 *40-45 mb in size* then flash official twrp. then flash 3.2.8 full oss. you'll be good to go.
.
are you on official twrp? *maybe you're not which I'm assuming* then flash official recovery through official twrp. then sideload official 3.2.8.
