No Romanian HTC phone can be unlocked by codes from the HTC database.
Reason is this : The Romanian networks relock their phones with their own code therefore the code is changed to what was set initially at factory hence the factory code would be wrong.
The only way to unlock this is using a unlock device, you can pm me maybe I can help you out with some shop in Romania that does this for you.

Anyone know how to adb unlock sim? I had a captivate and there was a way to change the binary file to leave network unlocked then you pushed it using a Chmod adb command. I would try it but I'm afraid I don't have insurance and also not too comfortable with htc devices so I don't wanna brick by accident

You either need an xtc clip or a sim unlock code from Verizon or an online unlocker.

As a Verizon indirect agent my account manager will not give unlock codes to me therefore software unlock is my best bet, I'm not buying an xtc clip either talk about a ripoff
Why can't you just call Verizon customer support and get the unlock code from them? Shouldn't matter if you're affiliated with vzw or not, you pay for a service, they provide it.

Please answer the question I know what I can and can't do it's stupid what can't be done when u work for a company but I have tried everything and that's why I am posting the question, Yes I have searched, Yes I have called support, my options are software unlock or code unlock and I don't want to pay for a code
Those are your only options. Either find someone that does sim unlocking with an xtc clip or buy a code. There's absolutely no other way known right now.

Side note, what are my chances of bricking the device trying to do this the same way? I have backups if I can get into CWM BUT a nice brick would probably make me very upset

well, I finally bought my One X (arrived 2days ago) but the best deal I found was with a sim locked one.
I should followed jmpmjmpm advice because now I can't find a code to unlock it...
I tried on this 3 different sites and so far none of them was able to provide me an unlock code...

After 22h cellunlocker manage to provide me an unlock code.

you will have to use fastboot sooner or later. are you afraid of using fastboot commandes ? i had my hox two weeks and unlocked it saturday. i am so happy with it now

Thats what i mean. Now you have to unlock the phone using htcdev. But will there be another method to unlock the One X? Because of the warranty issue using htcdev.

I've been thinking of warranty issues as well. I'll wait a bit more, maybe someone releases a root method not involving HTCDev, but I believe it's quite unlikely. Let's hope when they get S-OFF, they won't be needing the HTCDev unlock to do it

I need to know if there is a way to remove the Simlock of thos phone.
Because my Mate bought one and it got AT&T USA simlock or something...

You can't unlock simlocked phone for free, afaik... The safest way will be probaby to visit some non-HTC-authorized service place and ask them about unlocking and price.

If you bought a stolendevice that should be reported to authorities that someone sold something illegally. Otherwise, the post seems kind of suspect. I don't know if thats possible or legal.

Is possible, but also illegal. No one here can help you as its against xda rules. Not to mention you would still have to buy a phone with a good meid that could never be used or sold. So do your self a favor and just buy a new phone and use it.
