CM7 got something like this, and my old device still works. U can try it, but remember that u are responsible for risks.
Just how big is your SD card anyways?

Seriously, did you even try searching? There's 22 ROMs with it.
Look HERE
FWIW, there are only two evo roms with it. not suggesting that youre in any way not in the right here. should have searched before hand, but your information is a bit incorrect. I was shocked for a second because im thought a bunch of other roms picked it up, but alas no.
Damage control supports it. If you have Amon Ra recovery its really easy to partition your SD card. I'm running damage, not apps2sd, but I'm really happy with their Rom.

Anybody know if we could get this to work on the Defy? It requires 2.2 or higher I'm running stock ROM with 2.1.
Thanks-
First think about it. Why does this phone need apps2sd? what is the purpose of such an application?

Well, I don't need it, but some might want that, so I think it's a valid questions, isn't it?
Apps2sd is for those phones like xt720 which have less internal memory. Defy has 2gb for that which can fit hundreds of apps.

quick question about Partitioning my sd card...
does it make my G2 work faster with sense and other ROMS...or what does it really do for my phone?
Hmm I guess what you want to use it for would depend on what answer u get. If you want the old apps2sd method then ya you want to partition. But in general, partitioning it is not gonna change the speed of read write times or anything like thay. So if you don't have a reason to do it I would say no. Also some roms see swap/ext partitions and just assume upon using them which I never liked. So no don't do it unless you have a reason to...just me 2 cents which ain't worth much.

hm, i see. i just thought it would work some what like when G1 needed it for sense roms.
but thanks for your 2 cents, i appriciate it.
How much space is there for the ROM to use? I am trying to trim down the EVO 4g LTE stock to fit on our phones.

Generally, you don't want it bigger than maybe 320 MB. Any bigger and it won't have any space on the system partition, which means no boot or bootloop.
But even thats kinda big.

Thanks for the quick reply! Right now I'm at 612 for the whole /system folder and have deleted every app that seems it is not required. There is probably no way that it ever could fit.
Our EVOS only have 395 mb space, you have a long ways to go.

Yea you're gona have to do a lot of work, since that phone has 1gb ram. It may be able to be done, but you're gona have to put some work into it.

I would love to do so too. This is the reason why. Any ideas on what else we can do about this issue?

Start symlinking everything and only keep the essentials needed for it to boot then you can work on adding everything back that's needed when you get it booting.

Have a note 2 and didnt realize you couldnt move apps to sd until after buying the phone. So now I need to get around that restriction.
My device is rooted and on stock rom.
Can someone please point me to instructions for setting up apps 2 sd, or doing the internal v external sd swap?
Thanks in advance for the help
Foldermount can help you...
I think that's an Android jb issue rather than a fault of the phone.
I use the memory swap now, I used to use directory bind, and it works perfectly

It's a ROM related issue (JB). I'm using Clean Master(App), which allowes to move at least some apps to external SD.
im using a custom rom with the memory swap baked in. But im pretty sure this is the mod/guide that im using
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2036796
it is really good and fools the phone into using your sd card as your internal memory so no need to swap on a per app basis.
enjoy.

Thanks for pointing me to this. Can you verify for me as I cant seem to find it. Can this be used on my stock rom rooted? Or will I need to flash a new rom? Id really like to keep it stock as much as possible. Dont mind if the trash has been removed though.
I know the thread says you need a rom and kernel that supports initD, but I dont know if this does?
Also, the initial thread indicates it needs to be a international version, mine is a US from verizon. Will this still work?
Lastly, im assuming I will need to whipe my phone and start fresh?
Again thanks for all the help with this!
I'm not a hundred percent sure to be honest. But I would expect it to work on a stock rooted phone.
You would need to do a complete wipe and I think it says in the op that you're better off using the mod as soon as you do a fresh install
However, seeing as you are with Verizon I would really advise you to Flash the rom I use, Which is the Jedi rom.
It comes with some trash removed, some nice eye candy, the swap already cooked in and the new kernel is giving standby battery performance of 1% an hour.
But if you do then I suggest you wait for version 18 which is due any day.
Good luck

Looking at paranoid android. Can you link me to the thread for the ROM you are using? Id like to look at it as well.
Sure. In fact version 18 is now up. I'd highly recommend it.

I appreciate it man. Thats the one frustrating thing about this community in large you cant get anyone to answer your question, or they just assume you are supposed to know as much as they do. I really appreciate you taking the time to answer my question.
Has the download link been pulled? Not seeing it?
http://d-h.st/T2z
Yeah it got pulled but they are getting it up and running again the link is on page 944 it above for ease.
It'll be on the main op shortly.
No worries on the Help I don't know much but what I do know I try to share lol.
Let us know how you get on
Edit - if you're in no mad rush might be better to wait until the link appears in the main op.
